This is a box set of various authors I not read before except for Twyla Turner. I have read all her books.

Love in the Wild by Twyla Turner
This story was about Love who is a curvy woman who her work colleagues thinks cannot get a man. Turns out Love has two men in her life, with a paranormal twist to the story. I enjoyed reading this story.

Waiting for You by Lydia Young
I have never read this author before.
This is Jonathan and Etta's story. I enjoyed this story Jonathan get's his woman in the end.

I enjoy short stories and these two were a great read!

I hate you Cupid by heather Cole:

Is a short story of Soledad being in love with her best friend. Annie is a vamp who has Sole's heart. She will do anything to make sure that she she reveals her love to her bff, even steal an ancient text or Cupid to make it happen. Once the enchantment is upon her she goes directly to the object of her affection.

The story was good, but I felt the disconnect because I don't know what the interaction is between Sole and Annie without the enchantment. If there was a bit more interaction between them before the enchantment happen I could believe their love for one another a bit better
than them coming together under such circumstances. Their union was steamy and I could feel the heat between the two women. I think the fact that Soledad was in complete contrast to her natural reservations made things have a slight disconnect. Maybe a conversation between the two women previously would have made it better, but I'm really sure.

Cupid's Arrow-Meg Cooper

Te story started off with humor that is always a good start to a story. :). The story starts off with Dawn Being on a blind date with Mart the doc when being shot with an arrow.

They have a very good connection and Cupid shot Dawn with an arrow while on a date with Matt and it solidified that that were to be together. I loved the humor that was laced all through the story. Matt and Dawn saw the best and worst of each other in their first date. I liked that Cupid didn't shoot the arrow and made them fall in love with one another. He just helped the process go along a little faster. It was a good story that ended with a happily ever after, but from the chemistry that they exuded throughout this short, it fit. This was my first read by Meg Cooper and she didn't disappoint.

Pinkie Promises-Jane Danger

Delilah and her friends are four women who have all grown up together and are as close as anyone could be. They are at their monthly lunch meeting when the other three drop the bombshell that they are all getting married this coming Valentine's Day or expect a proposal. Delilah is crushed because her boyfriend broke up with her on the last
Valentine's Day and she figures she is undesirable and she has focused on her work.

This story wasn't a favorite of mine in the Kinkelectic collection because for a short story there were three alternating viewpoints, the words that the author used to describe her characters didn't fit the characters personalities the way it was written what she wrote didn't take me where she wanted me to go as a reader. The most notable grievance was she changed the name of the ex-boyfriend when he made his appearance at the end of the story. He was Eli in the beginning and Eric by the end. Ms. Danger could benefit if she reworked the story and used a proofreader as it was a good setup, but a poor execution.

Waiting For Cupid-Caia Fox

This was a short story of a woman (her name is never given as it was told in first person) was alone on Valentine's Day, when her elderly neighbor set her curtains on fire and in the aftermath, she met Angela's grandson, Luke. Luke and the protagonist started a conversation that lead to a date and they had a good time, which turned into mind blowing sex for both of them. Luke was scared of how he handled her and stayed away. Two weeks later once he felt like a first class jerk he wanted to convince her that he was really a good guy, just scared. They found their ground and realized that they were perfect for one another.

I really liked this story. It was direct, but the chemistry and easy banter flowed well between the two characters and they both were what the other needed even though they didn't realize it at the time. A good short that exercised sexual responsibility as well as a really good time.

Horngry-Troy King

Diana and Cupid are the hunter and the hunted. Diana bet Cupid that he couldn't shoot her with an arrow before she reaches a designated area and she says that she can and if Cupid wins she would succumb to him with his golden arrows, but if she wins, he will be her slave for a month. He thought it was a win-win situation as he is secretly in love with this goddess, but the tables were turned when she spurned him and used mortals to sate her lust when he shot her as she crossed the finish line and it was ruled a tie.

The story was good and I appreciated the hunt as well as the different manners that Diana sated her desires, but I was wondering where all this was going for most of the book. It wasn't until Diana told a young woman the story of how the hunt began in the first place did it all come together. By that time the end was near when Diana realized that Cupid was in love with her but she still chose to dish out some much needed justice when he shot her with his most potent arrow. The story was a different take as Cupid as Cupid was making a couple fall in love with one another, but he was trying to find love for himself. Cupid was a little sad to be honest. I don't know how I felt about him. Diana was cool, as she was a warrior so I appreciated her strength and resolve in the story.

Night Nurse birthday-Fallen Kitty

It wasn't a bad story, just not memorable. I stopped reading it for a couple of days and I wasn't itching to get back to it. This nurse had her 30th birthday and realized that she didn't accomplish anything that she wanted and turned out just how she didn't desire when she was younger. The remedy was her new hot male nurse co-worker. He was a handsome Native American who rocked her non fulfilling sex world. She left in the morning, not feeling ashamed, but hopeful of her future. It was a story that was laid out well enough but there wasn't any feeling behind the words.

Falling For Cupid-Christin Lovell

This was a story of a plus sized personal shopper Daisy, who married her best friend Brad when they turned 30, only for them to find out that they didn't love each other the way two people should. They were more like brother and sister, instead of husband and wife. They remained married until Brad found the love of his life and when they were meeting the divorce lawyer, Daisy found her Cupid, literally. Their divorce lawyer was named Cupid. :). They longed for one another until Daisy's divorce was final and then Coop pursued Daisy and all her curves. I liked the story because Daisy never shows her body and she had a great personality. She didn't change herself for anyone yet she still had her vulnerabilities. Coop was an honorable man, same as Brad even though he seemed a bit selfish for telling Daisy to keep her wedding ring on, but that's minor in the scope of this short story. It was an entertaining enough read. I would read another story by Ms. Lovell.

Two gods Walk Into A Bar-Audrey Lusk

This story was certainly different in the romance department but no less entertaining. There was a girl named Karen who walked into a bar hoping to observe couples on Valentine's day as she is a psychology student. She has a weird conversation with these people who were in a bar purportedly to be gods and goddesses of antiquity. She listened to them bemoan their fates and how they are no longer respected as the deity they are. She listens, shows compassion and helps two gods, Eros and Eris get together. In return, Cupid gives Karen a little something to help her get her unrequited love. Short, interesting and a little bit of mythology. Very nice.

Hold Me Tender/Kiss Me Tender-Ruby Madden

The story is a second chance love story of a young widowed lady who moves to a new town and finds a chance at s new beginning with a handsome attorney. Caitlin and Gabe have their own personal demons that they have fought over the last year: Cait's being depression after the passing of her husband and the other being Gabe being in a debilitating car accident that almost left him paralyzed. Gabe realizes after he gets to know Caitlin that he wants her for the long haul and she wants him as well but is scared.

I like the story. It has a slow build and the great making of a long term relationship without being perfect. The aches and pains of losing a loved one never goes away but is managed on a day to day situation. I could feel their attraction throughout the story, and when they finally got together I was very excited but the ending had much to be desired as I like to see completion in the act of copulation and having that cliff-hanger was a spoiler for me. Other than that, Ms Madden did an excellent job on build up and telling Cait and Gabe's story, from dual points of view.

Candy's Cupid-Ruby Madden

This story is the reverse that I usually read in interracial which is ww/bm story. It's about a woman named Candy who is approached by a black man named Casey aka Cupid after a friend of Candy's arranges things. There are a couple of things upfront about this story that was a bit off putting and that's about Casey saying that he hated the way men behaved around his favorite which are classy, educated white women. I understand that everyone has their preference, but this sentence is indicating that he is irritated more so when men behave badly around this class of woman versus others. That's no Bueno.

Next irritant is when candy's assistant, Sue calls this man a brutha. For real??? I'm not feeling this so far, but I am pressing on as I like Ruby's stories in general. (I'll come back and finish it. No I won't.)

Couples Skate- A. Regina Cantatis

Skipped it. It wasn't interesting. It was about some ice skating, life swap between a hockey player and a young man recently coming out as gay.

Love in the Wild-Twyla Turner
This paranormal was about a woman named Love who, surprisingly couldn't find any. It was Valentine's day and she stayed after work to feed the animals before heading home by herself. There are two cats, one lion named Gunner and a cheetah named Ryker. They are her mates and they are shifters, same as she but she didn't know she was one. They reveal themselves to her once she is alone in the zoo. The interesting part of this story was that they couldn't even get aroused until their union was complete.

The story had a good plot, but the only downturn that detracted from the story is how Love was so down on herself. I needed her to be a bit stronger and I would have enjoyed the story more, especially being the mate to two shifters with strong personalities and strong family heritages as we find out at the end of the story.

Waiting for You-Lydia Young

Waiting for you was a well done short of the billionaire/regular girl stories. Most short stories, you wish they were longer if they are good because it doesn't feel fleshed out? That wasn't the case with this one. Etta was assistant to Jonathan England, one of the most powerful men in Seattle.
He has loved Etta for the years that she has worked with him, and she him, but circumstances always got in the way. When opportunity presented itself, England made his move.

The confusion of Etta towards Jonathan felt real and their feelings for one another could be felt and that is an impressive feat considering how short the story was. :)

4 short stars. :)

Where else are Cupid (aka Eros), the rest of the other Greco-Roman gods and goddesses, a demon, a werewolf, a witch, a trio of were-cats, and a mind meddling vampire going to tangle with hockey superstars, attorneys, bar keeps, nurses, doctors and just your regular average Jack or Jill except in this truly eclectic mix of romantic tales?

There is absolutely something in here for everyone, no matter what your persuasion or your preferred level of heat is. This anthology contains some very sweet tales that barely even hint at what goes on inside the bed chamber, as well as a few stories so blistering hot you'll have to shed some layers and pull your fan out of storage to make it through all the pages without melting.

The common thread woven throughout is that they are all creative and enticing. I found myself being drawn in to even the ones that don't pull at my own personal kink strings because the writing styles were so appealing and intelligent.

I won a free copy of this book but I later went back and purchased it, because I felt it was well worth it to support these talented authors - it's actually worth way more than what they are charging for it!!!
You should pick up a copy - it's a steal!
