Q Hayashida (林田球, Hayashida Kyu) is a manga author from Tokyo.

Hayashida's first major manga was Maken X Another (1999-2001), a comic book adaptation of a video game.
Her most famous work is the 23-volumes long Dorohedoro (2000-2018). It was originally serialised in the alternative manga magazine 'Monthly Ikki', but it was later moved to 'Hibana' when Ikki ceased publication, and finally transferred to 'Monthly Shōnen Sunday'. Dorohedoro has been partially adapted into an anime on Netflix in 2018.
Hayashida's most recent manga series Dai Dark began serialisation in 2019 in the pages of Monthly Shōnen Sunday.

Absolutely loving this series.

To my surprise, this book took a while to come out lol. But I’m glad it finally arrived.

The strangest thing about Volume 9 is that it’s probably the weakest book for over half of its run of chapters, but once you get into the final third of the volume, it’s absolutely wild and chilling!

Gonna say it again: Q is the best female comic writer to ever live. No one will ever change my mind about that. Especially when the weakest volume of Dai Dark is better than 95% of American comic releases lol.

I don't really know how to feel about this volume...

It took me around 5-6 months to get ahold of a (physical) copy of this volume to continue reading the series (I wasn't particularly pressed to get it either), and just in general idk how to feel about the series. The last volume got me excited for it's continuation, with figuring out the mysteries behind Hajime Damemaru- but this volume doesn't really deliver...it just leaves more questions.

It's not bad by any means, in-fact it had some more serious moments that I quite liked (like with Hassoku the tick girl "we're the same"- despite not particularly liking her character, that moment is really strong for a multitude of reasons :) or further expanding on Zaha Sanko's lore...reincarnation???). It was enjoyable but not something I'm going out of my way for :/

Great volume. We find out that there are other Zara Sanko. Idk if it going to be like if one dies another one gets born. Still have a lot of questions of who Sanko is and where he came from. It’s crazy how all three of them Sanko, Shimada and Damemaru are all connected. Hopefully Shimada can heal Sanko, she did say she won’t let him die never again. I am excited Vipers new minions can’t wait to see what they end up doing when they go again the Four Little Shits.

Si torna in carreggiata con questo volume, ricco di azione e misteri. Nuovi indizi sulla natura del protagonista, ma anche dei suoi compagni di squadra, e sui membri della lighthead.

It’s just endless set up… he spends so little time on action or payoff of what he’s setting up. It’s just blah blah blah. Funny but he could move the plot along.
