A heartwarming memoir from a true storyteller, this book helped me heal after losing my mom over 20 years ago. I found many similarities to the author's journey through remembering her mom after death, not only in emotional upheavals but in similar experiences in childhood and becoming a mother as well.

I savored the quotes DeeDee included in the book, plus the inspiring stories about her family and the sweet, endearing letters addressed to her late mom. I highly recommend this book to anyone mourning a loss of a mother they loved, and perhaps took for granted until it was too late.

I'm thankful I read this book, because the holidays are coming up and my mom always made them extra special -- something she passed on to me.
