Eight years ago Archer left his hometown to start a new life with Hayley. Six years later he lost both his wife and baby. Archer continues to grieve the loss of his life by returning to his hometown. The visit was suppose to be temporary until he saw Emma the girl who has always pined for him. During Ella’s lunch hour Archer visits her where he does wicked things to her in the bedroom. He only has his body to give, but that’s okay with Ella because she doesn’t need any complications.

I’m extremely grateful for Archer’s voice. Dual point of view storylines are the best. Great execution by Lindy Zart. Nice comeback after being away for a few years.

Archer has an internal battle within himself to not show how much Emma is affecting him. Afterall, he paid no mind to her in high school. It’s not high school anymore and she’s not the same Emma. Now when he’s with Emma he craves her.

Emma has long harbored a crush on Archer. She tried many times to seduce him to no avail. As soon as he returned home he captured her eye. Emma is the only one who can bring Archer back to life after losing his wife and child.

I’m impressed and excited to have Lindy Zart back. This was a fantastic read with just the right amount of romance and emotional turmoil. Archer and Emma will win your heart and capture your soul.

This title is apt to the book, both Emma and Archer are not living the lives they thought they would be when they were young. Both got side tracked for very different reasons and both seem a bit stuck with where they are. Things in Archer's case seem more severe than Emma's. Emma is happy, loves Ivy and seems to like her life, but still there is something that makes her seem stuck. Archer is trying and failing to move on from the loss of his wife and child, it's been years and I know grief moves at different paces for everyone, but Archer still seems on the bitter raw of when it just happened, just stuck there.

So it's interesting how both of their lives change when they encounter each other in the present, both so different from the people they were. It's not great at the start, maybe even a bit toxic, yet it works for them both, seems to shock each of their lives. Emma's sees what life should be like and Archer sees what he loss. Yet they work past so many issues and find their way to happy with each other by the end. It's nice to see each one choose where their life goes right now and to choose to be happy, they deserve it.

I have read all of Lindy Zart’s books and let me tell you this book was HOT! Lindy has put some light romance scenes in her books but this book turned up the heat and she took it to a new level.

I couldn’t put the book down and finished it in 3 days. So if you like spicy romance and turning pages faster than you can read- pick this book and get ready to drop your jaw.
