Discovering Rachel Reid’s Game Changers Series
(…and yes, I’m reading them wildly out of order)
I started Rachel Reid’s books completely out of order because I had to experience Heated Rivalry first—and then immediately jumped into The Long Game to see what came next for Shane and Ilya. Both were such engaging, emotional, and wildly entertaining reads that I didn’t mind the chaos of my reading order.
But this weekend I finally went back to the beginning and picked up Game Changer.
Wow! It absolutely blew my expectations out of the water. It is not just all sex but the psychology of the characters. Their fears, insecurities, consideration for each other. It’s quite beautiful.
Reid delivers such a realistic, tender portrayal of a very specific kind of relationship dynamic—one that feels both unique and deeply human. I loved the characters, the emotional beats, and all the additional plot threads that never made it into Episode 3 of Heated Rivalry. It added so much richness to the world she’s built.
I know I’m late to the party here, and I’m about to dive into Tough Guy next, but I had to share this with the group:
The Game Changers series really are game changers for MM heated romance.
And this is coming from someone who is normally allergic to sport in any form…
(apart from admiring the players, of course).
Absolutely loving this journey.
