The artwork fits SOA perfectly, and the characters look and act like they do in the show, which is really important for me with these kind of spinoffs.

This features a whole new story that runs alongside Season 5 somewhere, but with connections and back-stories to key characters. Can't say much else without spoiling SOA, but fans of the show should love reading this extra 'episode'. I need more SAMCRO.

Wow, very impressive. This first volume captures the feel of the TV series perfectly. The characterization was spot on. It really did feel like an episode of the tv show, and that's harder to pull off than you'd think.

This was set right after Tig's daughter was murdered, so when a fellow SAMCRO's daughter shows up on the run from some very dangerous people, he makes it his personal mission to protect her. We also see Clay is up to his usual tricks. The gang is all here, and even Chinatown Mob Boss Henry Lin shows up.

The art was good as well, but mainly its purpose was not to get in the way of the story. The likenesses were good, and the art never took you out of the story.

I recommend this to any fan of the show, particular since many fans are probably going through SOA withdrawal. Here's your chance to get an all new SOA fix!

I love Sons of Anarchy the show. It's fun, exciting, over the top, insane drama at it's finest. Who knew I liked a show about a motorcycle gang?

This story mostly focuses on Tig and him getting over the death of his daughter when a new, young, girl comes into the mix that brings back his past. Overall this is for the sons of anarchy fans. While little stretched and very little stakes I'd still give it a 3 for being very entertaining.

I'm not entirely sure what my expectations were going into this book but they were met and exceeded. I am a massive fan of the show, I absolutely love it and I've been missing it ever since it ended. This definitely filled that hole, and I'm sure (or at least I hope) that the other volumes will do the same. The artwork was incredibly well done, they all looked exactly as they do in the show, and the personalities and behaviours of each character were captured perfectly. The story was great and offered more insight and background to Tig and also gave a bit extra to the season that it takes place alongside of, it also fit in with the tone of the show. The book will definitely be even better received if you have already watched the show just because you'll know everything that's lead up to this but the book does take into account people that may not have watched it as there are character introductions and some snippets of information/flashbacks to help people understand what's going on. There are also a lot of references to other things, though, that non show watchers probably won't catch. I highly recommend this to all fans. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to read the others.

This is like an extra episode for the fans of the show and I’m here for it. We see all our favorites and yet get a whole new stories and focus to run alongside the show. A solid edition for any fan of the show but for non fans you’ll likely be very lost.

This was a fun read as an "extra episode" of the show, so I'd recommend this comic if you are a fan (or have seen the show) of Sons Of Anarchy cause this does contain spoilers for the show

Loved it 😍😍😍😍

A great time in with the TV series, it was also nice to see how Tig really dealt with the death of his daughter Dawn.

”You think I’m a monster. I get it, kid. But I’m the closest thing to a white knight a girl like you can hope for...”

My annual SOA phase kicked in a couple of weeks ago. I still don’t have enough courage to watch season 6 so in order to not slack completely, I decided that it was the perfect time to read the graphic novels.

I loved volume.1! The artwork was fantastic. Nothing was out of place. The characters were themselves.
Everything made perfect sense! It focuses on Tig and his side storyline. How he copes with the tremendous loss and pain (or more like, how he doesn’t really). Even though its absence didn’t bother me that much, I still would’ve liked if this storyline was explored a bit more deeply on the show but vol.1 did a great job at conveying Tig’s feelings and vulnerability.

Pretty awesome. The art style fits SOA perfectly. Golden wrote a good story, though mostly based on happenings in the fifth season. This provides a little back story with Tig, his daughter, and the favor he owed another Son. Considering Tig is my favorite character, I really enjoyed this book that focuses on his character.

It takes a few moments to place the story within the timeline of the series if its been a while since you viewed it, but once you do it rolls along.

I'm a big fan of the TV series and just finished a rewatch session of all 7 seasons to prep for starting on season 1 of "Mayans MC". I randomly bought a couple of the SOA graphics and said that the next time I ran through the series again, I would finally read these.

I'm good with Golden's writing. He did a decent job at getting the characters to sound like their live action counter parts. The story was good for a standalone with small ties to season 5 without making it a necessity to read these to get the full story while watching, more do you really have to watch the show to be able to read this.

Had the artwork by Couceiro been better and more on point, this could have been a 5 star read but the lack of character definition and solid art dragged the experience down. In some panels, the art favors the actors but for the most part, they are shadowy figures in SOA kuttes, interchangeable, especially Chibs and Tig and then Happy and Juice. Clay strongly resembled Ron Pearlman but he was barely a panel or two of the story. The artist prefers heavy shading and dark, plain backgrounds that didn't exactly bring the story to life.

If I wasn't so attached to these guys, maybe the half-ass attempt at artwork would have been ok, but I am attached to them and don't wanna have to guess who is who when none of these characters looked that much alike on the show.

I already own two more volumes but I am not looking forward to reading them if the art isn't fleshed out beyond lazy sketches and bland backdrops.

Sons of Anarchy, Volume #1, is well written. The story makes up the first 6 issues of an ongoing series and jumps right into the lives and times of SAMCRO. The focus of this volume is on Tig. Like other members of the gang, Tig has a sordid past that is explored here: what happened to his daughter years ago, the regret and pain that this makes him feel. The series then moves to connecting this past to his need to protect a daughter of a long-ago friend from the criminals who are out to get her.

The writing and graphics are superb in this volume. Christopher Golden, who has also worked on the Buffy series, writes dialogue that is right out of the Sons of Anarchy series. Illustrator, Damian Couceiro, makes the action jump from the page, great color use and imagery.

I would have rather the story spent more time in the Town of Charming, but, for a road trip to save a damsel in distress, the story meets all expectations with a gauntlet of evil bosses and challenging characters, including two brothers who are motorcycle assassins and a shoot-out in a forest.

Enjoy, but remember, this is a gritty, ugly story. There’s a lot to take here. You’ve got to be ready for all that is wrong in this world before turning the first page. Happy reading.

Of course SoA is problematic, but it's a guilty pleasure from way back when that I will always love (in semi-secret) and it hits just right as and where the show did. The art fit with the right grit and energy you might expect and the characters where spot on. I do wish we had a little angsty Opie before his s5 demise, but you can't have everything...
Can I recommend it to just anyone or everyone? He'll no. BUT if you were a Sons fan of either the original or Mayans and need a fix, I say check it out. I only wish i'd found out about it sooner.

I loved Sons of Anarchy when it was still on, so I was so happy to find out this existed. I really liked it but I wish there was more about the other club members and not just Tiggy

I came into this having never seen the show. I don't know the backstories of the characters. This was fantastic. The artwork is top notch. The story was incredible. I am a fan of the graphic novels. That may lead me to the show eventually.

Pretty near worthless if you're not a fan of the show (characters aren't fleshed out enough, they're entirely based on what you know about them from the TV Series), and VERY spoiler heavy, what with Tig's trauma.....

but its still like reading an episode.

I didn’t even know these were a thing, and I’m so happy to find them. Beautiful art work and stories that fit perfectly into the SOA world. I love the story centric to Tig and Kozik.
