He knows every rule. He just doesn’t want to follow them with me.
I never meant to fall in love with a priest.
Gabriel is steady. Devoted. Certain. A man who has built his life on vows and discipline and the quiet comfort of faith. He listens to confessions. He buries the dead. He guides the lost.
And when he looks at me, all that certainty fractures.
It starts with longing glances across a crowded church. Fingers brushing for a heartbeat too long. Words that mean one thing on the surface… and something far more dangerous underneath.
He knows the rules. He teaches them. Lives by them.
But every time he whispers my name, I see the struggle in his eyes. The desire. The question.
What if love is holier than fear?
What if choosing each other isn’t a fall from grace… but a step into truth?
This is a story about temptation. About grief. About the kind of slow-burn connection that ignites into something unstoppable.
It’s about a good man standing at the edge of everything he’s ever believed — and deciding I’m worth the fall.
Such a lovely and endearing story about Faith, Temptation, forbidden love and grief. Faith in the Church and God. The temptations of the flesh and giving in to it. Then ultimately faith in love. Of course this wouldn’t be a Lacey Buckles Story without a little spice which is raw, passionate and tender. I think Gabriel and Faith’s story will forever hold a little peace of my heart.
Firstly im so impressed how the author has written such varied storylines. In all her books there must have a been a great deal of research. Very enjoyable
