Can get alittle boring at times but definitely informational and gives a good summary of the hundreds of union generals that lead the US through the civil war. Pre war lives and after the war are also mentioned for every general that survived the war.

This volume contains information on all the Union generals who took part in the American Civil War. This is a collection of brief biographies. It is also a good reference for someone studying the Civil War as a non-historian.

This book isn't too bad as a brief reference volume; it just doesn't go into a lot of detail for each general.
