IN A LAND WHERE THE DEAD SPEAK AND ANCIENT GODS WALK IN IN HUMAN SKIN, KATE JUSTICE CONFRONTS A DARKNESS OLDER THAN CIVILIZATION

Some killers are born. Others are summoned. She hunts both.

Bestselling, award‑winning author Michael Jack Webb unleashes a supernatural thriller series where the veil between worlds is razor thin, and truth is far more terrifying than lies. Step into The Justice Chronicles , a pulse‑pounding blend of psychological suspense, ancient mysteries, and otherworldly horror—anchored by one woman destined to confront the darkness stalking humanity.

Kate Justice, the FBI’s youngest and most gifted Profiler, has a talent for seeing what others miss—and a past shrouded in secrets she’s only beginning to understand. When a series of brutal murders defies logic, science, and every investigative instinct she possesses, Kate is thrust into a deadly confrontation with forces that should not exist. The deeper she digs, the more she uncovers chilling truths buried in her own bloodline. Truths tying her fate to the horrors she hunts.

But the nightmare is only beginning.

Kate is drawn into conspiracies older than civilization. Malevolent entities wearing human faces rise from myth. Forbidden artifacts awaken. And a global threat rooted in the supernatural begins stirring.

Ancient powers awaken. Modern horrors arise. Justice stands between them.

As Kate races to stop killers—both human and monstrous—she must confront the terrifying possibility her greatest enemy may be what she doesn’t know about her bloodline heritage.

Kate Justice sees more than most. And the FBI wants to use this special skill set. But the last case she worked on almost took her out. For good.

So when Kate is called in as a consultant on another FBI case to find a missing Jackal statue she balks.

Her brush with death and the mysterious absence of her parents six weeks earlier haunts her.

She’d rather search for her missing parents than work on the case of finding a missing artifact. Then she realizes her boss is inviting her to accomplish both.

Partnered with her old colleague, homicide detective Chris Schindler, Kate is glad she followed that ‘still small voice’ in accepting the job.

Chris seems to understand her special investigative skills like no one else.

Billionaire Ib-nal Kalid offers to help in their search as a way to finish his scientific work to acquire eternal life.

At his invitation Kate and Chris travel to Egypt where supernatural events surround them while they search for the missing ancient antiquity.

If you’re a fan of studying Egyptian mythology you’ll enjoy Webb’s deep dive into this lore.

Jackal is a well researched novel full of interesting connections between the supernatural and science.

It’s a fascinating study in the evidence of how deeply rooted the Egyptian culture is in our country now.

For instance, have you ever wondered why the US dollar bill has a single eye above a pyramid on it?

Michael Jack Webb’s novel, Jackal, is the second book in his Justice Chronicle Series.

I received an ARC of the novel for my review.

Jackal by Michael Jack Webb is a Christian fantasy suspense that will grip you from the start. It is the second book in The Justice Chronicles but can be read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed meeting up with familiar faces.
Life is a spiritual battle. There are more forces around us than what we can see and hear.
Within the tale, the forces of evil try to outwit the good. God asks us to trust Him. If we call on His Name, we will be saved. For at His Name, the demons will flee.
The reader travels to Egypt. Though the story is set in present day, we hear of the ancient artefacts, customs and gods.
The leading character is very perceptive, having vivid dreams that need interpreting.
Michael Jack Webb has clearly well researched ancient Egypt as we become immersed in that unfamiliar world.
The novel also quotes chunks of scripture, showing that God is for us.
All the characters were well drawn.
The atmosphere was dark and creepy at times as the demonic forces battled for control.
Jackal is definitely a thinking-man’s novel. It was an engaging read, although there were times when I didn’t quite follow the action (the fault was mine, alone).
Jackal is a suspenseful read that will keep you entertained.
I received a free copy from the author. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.

Review: Here we go again, another author lauding his own merits taken from the school of Chad Robicheaux. Summa cum hapkido jitsu master lawyer in Florida. Traipses the world over in search of adventure. His nights are like the Batman, studying quantum physics that real scientists perform.

This was one of the shortest reads due to only a few chapters read, then tossed in the round file. I really want my money back. Our hero has the depth of a raving narcissist whom rides a formulaic story line. "Oh no, it's a jackal thing / man / chimera. Of course it's evil!" Yawn. What is most interesting, are the 5-star reviews in Goodreads. They run to a certain pattern where it all tends toward the scripted accolades. Almost as if there are publishing personnel and paid reviewers. None of the reviews ring true, or echo someone that has waded through shjt by dragging their bleeding eyes across each page of pure drivel.

This novel needs to be buried in a deep hole with a dead racoon.

Thanks but no thanks for the ARC.

The Jackal is the second book in The Justice Chronicles. It answers a lot of questions I asked after reading book 1. The story is full of suspense and interesting bits of history in addition to having a Christian viewpoint. There are darker portions of the story, characters are injured, and there are elements of the paranormal. I appreciated the research that went into telling the story in this Egyptian context. There is a very clear evil vs. good storyline and the characters refer themselves to God in prayer throughout. The book kept me interested and entertained throughout.

This story was provided as an Advanced Reader Copy. A review was not required.

This is the 2nd installment to his first book ghost. Extremely religious heavy so if you do not do well with religion or are deconstructing do not read this. But uggghhh I love the way he writes his novels. So much history, ancient texts and scriptures morphed into a delicious story that has you wondering who can you trust?! The twists and turns makes the outcomes different and makes you wonder which turn are you going to go down. Seriously hope this author will allow me to read more of his work. This is just a phenomenal series and I can't wait to see where we travel to next! (Call me biased) but I loved me Khalid 🤭🤭🤭

Jackal by Michael Jack Webb blends supernatural horror with investigative thriller elements in a gripping way. The concept of FBI profiler Kate Justice hunting killers while uncovering ancient forces adds a unique twist to the genre.

The story promises high stakes, dark conspiracies, and a mystery tied to Kate’s own bloodline, making it especially intriguing for fans of supernatural thrillers and psychological suspense.

This was ok for me. I can’t tell if this is book 2 in a series or not. The book description above doesn’t say it is part of a series. If it isn’t there are a lot of oddly specific references to a serial killer and her parents. I wouldn’t call it horror either and I am pretty sure the Goodreads giveaway labeled it as such. It’s more of an Egyptian mystery type book.
