Knot Your Vice was a mixed bag for me. This is an omegaverse where the alphas make all the wrong moves for more than the first half of the book, presuming too much under the guise of protecting an omega they knew when young but haven’t seen in years. But connecting with someone under false pretenses is never a good thing, even in omegaverse romance.
One of my favorite parts of Knot Your Vice was how irate the heroine was with this pack when the time came that all was revealed. I truly appreciated that she underscored the magnitude of their inadvertent betrayal to her. But her turnaround afterwards seemed way too swift to me; she went from being livid and noncommunicative to sudden forgiveness and “let’s jump into bed.” There was one mate in particular who I felt truly didn’t understand what he needed to change about himself to accommodate his omega and didn’t quite get there for me as a result.
I also felt like standard elements of omegaverse, like the undeniability of a bond, were subverted here for this plot. I also struggled with how these alphas built a place like the Nest and then essentially abandoned it when their situation with Zora exploded. It’s like their businesses showed up when convenient for the plot and faded away when convenient for the plot as well.
So there were aspects that I liked in Knot Your Vice, and an equal number that didn’t compute for me (which explains my rating). Still, I enjoy Vincent’s writing and her clever exploration of omegaverse romance, so I’m looking forward to seeing more that I expect to sit better with me!
I really enjoyed this story from Sara. I’m always a sucker for a friends-to-lovers dynamic mixed with stalker romance vibes and a solid grovel and this delivered on all of it.
Zora is an online vlogger who shares her life as an omega. When she’s selected to stay at The Nest, an omega-only apartment complex staffed entirely by betas; it’s supposed to be a fresh start. Zora is strong, resilient, and layered, but she carries deep PTSD and night terrors from her smoky past. Losing the four boys who once made her life bearable left a wound that never fully healed.
Those four boys grew into four powerful alphas who have loved and chosen, Zora from a distance for years. Reid is the meticulous planner who sometimes acts before thinking things through. Dameon is the protector, the muscle and shield of the pack. Then there are the twins: Micah, the steady and compassionate doctor, and Theo, the brilliant tech genius. Their misguided attempt to “protect” Zora leads to them hurting her in ways that cut deep, especially when they take away her choice under the guise of keeping her safe.
What I loved most was that Zora didn’t immediately forgive them. She made them work for her love, her trust, and her affection. The grovel was earned, and watching the guys step up to support her dreams and prove their devotion was incredibly touching.
I loved it! From start to finish, I was completely hooked. One of my favorite things about this book was how incredibly well each character was written. Theo, Micah, Dameon, and Reid all had such distinct personalities that it was effortless to tell them apart. So often in multi-love interest romances, the male characters can blend together and feel interchangeable, but that was not the case here. Each of them brought something unique to the story, with their own voice, vibe, and emotional depth. It made every interaction feel meaningful and real.
And let’s talk about the groveling, because WOW. It was satisfying, emotional, and exactly what I wanted. The payoff felt earned, and I loved seeing the vulnerability and devotion come through.
The spice? Absolutely top-tier. It was intense, well-written, and perfectly balanced with the emotional development. Nothing felt rushed or forced, it just all flowed naturally within the story.
If you love strong character differentiation, satisfying groveling, and delicious spice, this one is definitely for you. I couldn’t put it down and will be thinking about these characters for a long time!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Zora had a bit of a rough childhood, and she’s finally making a name for herself as an omega influencer. Little does she know that her past has come back in full force. When she discovers her childhood best friends have come back into her life, it’s not as smooth sailing as they thought it would be. Reid, Micah, Dameon, and Theo didn’t plan for a stalker, also from their past. The stalker revealed the guys to Zora before they were ready, and she wanted nothing to do with them anymore, despite having missed them for fifteen years. This story was a little bit on the darker side and was spicy, but it also was a good story of redemption and forgiveness. The guys had to adjust their thinking and realize that Zora didn’t need their protection. She just needed supportive partners.
This was cute with a little suspense, alphas being alphas, a bit of grovel and a strong lady boss finding her voice. I enjoyed this and look forward to what comes next from Sara.
