20 books131 followersI was born in Denmark on a dark and stormy night in November 1976. I began writing when I was a teenager. My first book was a really awful horror novel titled Nidhug's Slaves. It didn't get published. Luckily.
During the next 7 years, I wrote nearly 20 novels--all of which were rejected--while working as a school teacher.
In 2000 I published my debut fantasy book, The Battle of Caïssa, and that's when things really took off. Since then I've published more than forty books for children and young adults in genres ranging from fantasy to horror and science fiction.
My books have been translated into more than 15 languages and my series about the superhero Antboy has been adapted for film, which is available on Netflix. An animated tv series is currently in development.
A musical of The Devil's Apprentice opened in the fall 2018 and the movie rights for the series have been optioned.
I live in Copenhagen with my wife, two boys, a dog named Milo and spiders in the basement.

Wow. Andersen is an absolute mastermind.
This epic conclusion... Things didn't really go how I expected. There is no predicting any of that chaos. *slow clap into enthusiastic standing ovation from me*
I can't really say much without spoilers.
I have a love-hate relationship with the ending. I do understand it and respect it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I enjoyed the depth of the topics covered free will, the meaning of life, the meaning of death... I enjoyed the challenging of the way things are taught. It made the series unpredictable. I'm almost certain I mentioned that before. I enjoy that the main character is sharp but also kinda messed up from the back and forth and nature of the things that he knows.
This is a 5 star series for me.

A Fitting Finale to an Unforgettable Series
Philip returns to Hell in The Fallen Devil, the sixth and final book in Kenneth B. Andersen's Great Devil War series. I have followed Philip through most of this series, and somewhere along the way he wrapped himself around a little piece of my heart. Surprisingly, the Devil himself became a favorite character, too.
This finale is dark, emotional, fast-paced, and filled with high-stakes consequences. There are battles, difficult choices, painful goodbyes, and some scenes that aren't easy to process—but this is Hell, after all. Andersen has never shied away from showing the darker side of this world.
What has always made this series stand out for me, though, is what lies beneath the action. The Fallen Devil explores identity, choice, redemption, and ultimately the balance between good and evil, right and wrong, life and death. Again and again, we're reminded that both the everyday choices and the enormous, life-altering ones help determine who we become.
There's almost no way to discuss the plot without spoilers, and this conclusion deserves to be experienced without them. I'll simply say that Andersen brings the threads of the series together in a satisfying, thought-provoking finale.
I'm going to miss Philip—and, much to my surprise, the Devil too. I'm very glad I took this journey through Hell.

The final installment of The Great Devil War series doesn't disappoint! I can't give too many details, because I don't want to spoil this for anyone, but it truly was a great conclusion to the series.
The war reaches its peak and Phillip must come to terms with who he is, what he's done and the things that happened to him. In a sense, he finally finds peace with the good and evil inside of him. It's a full circle moment.
This book is packed with action and fantastic war scenes, as well as emotional moments. It deals with the conflict between good and evil, how both are needed to keep balance.
Phillip finishes this chapter of his life and moves on, with new friends, a new path and a more secure sense of self, but he still won't forget the friends he made in Hell and all his adventures. His journey will always be a part of him, even if he isn't the angelic innocent boy we mwt in the first book.

The Fallen Devil: The Great Devil War VI, my sixth read by author Kenneth B. Andersen/Kenneth Bøgh Andersen and the concluding chapter of The Great Devil War. A coming-of-age fantasy, a 263-page read where each book is almost like another chapter rather than a new book. “I received a complimentary Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I'll be reading more from this author; in fact, Eternal Punishment is already on my TBR list. (RIP Marley, January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Great books
This feels like an open ended ending to a series. It was very satisfying, but I would be happy to get more if it was as good as the rest.
