Useless info. Why do I need to know everything about being a taxi driver and towing trailers when I never intend to do either of those things?

I'm gonna just start using the app because these books make me sooo sleepy!!!
Very informal I just don't know how I'm going to remember all of it! A lot is common sense but I just want to make sure I'm 100% before my theory test in 3 weeks!!!!!

Truly a modern masterpiece.

For real though, being a booky person, I wish I had read this before doing my first driving test. Many more niche aspects of keeping and driving a car are covered such as: driving in bad weather, tricky manoeuvrers, driving in other countries, recommended maintenance and some obscure road rules that only exist in some parts of the UK.

Perhaps the most entertaining thing to learn about was the infamous magic roundabout in Swindon.

I'm sure somebody got a promotion which was later revoked for architecting such a monstrosity. It's so absurd I perhaps even appreciate it a little and envy those in Swindon who must commute over it each day.

Excellent book. The author has a clear vision of the events and characters in her story and articulates an engaging journey where the protagonist sets out to overcome not only his own limitations but a horde of erratic adversaries armed with heavy machinery, hellbent on creating confusion and causing harm at any cost. A must read.

Genuinely helped me to pass both my theory and practical. Also has a lot of useful information around the topics to explain as well as for once you pass.

Good god this was one boring read... I'm so glad it's over!

I appreciate its not easy to make a topic like this interesting, but it would have helped a lot if they included more images and diagrams.

Most of the imagery in there just felt like it was there for decoration, and too many parts of the book relied on text-only descriptions, which is especially difficult to take in when it's relating to road markings or road signs... show us what they look like please!

Still, I'm glad I read it as it still managed to clear a few things up for me. It's been 5 years since I passed my test and never driven since. So this served as a refresher... it sure wasn't an easy read though lol

Passed my theory with flying colours first time!!! And it’s all because of this book!

It has a lot of extra information that you don’t need if you’re just a car driver but it still breaks it down really helpfully! I recommend this in conjunction with the official DVSA theory book to get the most out of it :)

Actually pretty helpful to help you get into a good mindset as a new driver, very repetitive though. I’ll definitely keep it as a reference book though!

This book is a guide to the essential skills in driving in the UK. It covers everything a learner could need but also has sections on driving abroad and ecosafe driving for example. I've accessed a few resources produced by DVSA and this book is really very good. It is written in a factual, informative style and is clear and concise. There is excellent use of images, context and further resources. I have to say I am highly impressed by the quality of DVSA publications. It is a pity that this book will only be read by novice drivers and instructors as I think much of the information in here would be beneficial to experienced drivers. Does what it says - good product.

Used alongside the online DVSA Theory Test and Hazard Perception Kit. I hadn't started lessons until after I took my theory test and was pretty much completely ignorant about anything driving related so it's solely thanks to those two resources that I passed with nearly 100%. However, the online kit is much more concise, so, if you don't need something so in depth/don't want to wade through so much information, then you definitely could just use that.

This contained actual practical driving advice. Which I’m sure I’ll be able to refer to in my lessons and use it to guide my learning in my driving lessons. Really drove home the MSM and PSL acronyms that will be solidified in my knowledge for a lifetime of safe driving.
