ooooh, this was way better than the first book. More plot but still similar theme, an underground fighter and a doctor.

“Why does it…” he murmurs, almost to himself, “why does it feel so good when you touch me?”

“I’m not going to hurt you.” “I can take it,” he insists. “I know you can.” I press my lips to his neck, just below his ear. “But that doesn’t mean you have to. Let me take care of you.”

I loved seeing Bobby again, who’s Riley’s brother who I just met the other day being the mc in his own book.

Okay, this was MUCH better than the first book. More plot, a longer build-up, and the TENSION was through the roof.

He presses close behind me, keeping me plastered against the door. I could break free if I wanted to. But I don’t. For the first time in my life, I want to stay exactly where someone has put me.

This book is yet another reason why reading should be considered a sport. My watch measured my heart rate at over 120 BPM while I was reading. Phew.

I also absolutely loved seeing characters from the Station Thirteen series again. Bobby, my beloved. And Eddie. AND RIVER!!! I gasped when River showed up!!

There’s no such thing as too many of JP’s shorts. I really hope we get a longer book from Jenny one day. I’m absolutely in love with her writing.

I wasn’t expecting this one to come out so soon! I was curious about it while reading the first book. I enjoyed this read. Their relationship was more on the sexual side, they had good chemistry but I would have liked to see a little more of the romantic side. A little OW drama because they both get jealous. Jacob lets some girls touch on him to make Riley jealous and get his attention basically. The intimate scenes were hot per usual. I’m curious about Bobby’s book next but I really don’t like cam boy books so idk if I’ll read it.

They both fought the attraction but it was too strong to resist. I'm not big on the jealousy trope but I liked how this one played out.

Is it possible for an underground cage fighter to ever be tamed? Probably not would be the answer most would give but the difference with Riley is that he isn't trying to tame, he's trying to heal. He's a physiotherapist. That's his job. To help people heal, to offer support and guidance so the body can do what it does best, build resilience. But, as Jenny Pineapple demonstrates so clearly in this story, resilience takes many forms.

Jacob fights. In the ring and out of it. In the ring he fights opponents, fights to be the champion, to come out on top. Out of the ring he is fighting his own body, fighting the pain in his shoulder which could bring his career to an end if he isn't careful. He is also going to fight Riley every step of the way until he realises the doctor isn't backing down, isn't intimidated in the least and is possibly offering Jacob something more than healing, more than he has ever considered possible.

A novella which packs so much in. Jenny Pineapple carefully chooses her words and the structure of the story to give us so much more than we expect. Strong characters, a setting that would challenge most and a medical issue that, whilst we as readers might not know much about, she educates us in whilst not making it feel that way. This is a quick, engrossing, addictive read. There are moments to make readers gasp, others to smile at and a heart-warming conclusion. The Red Corner only has two book so far but its already an excellent series I want more of!.

After the last book I NEEDED this story. And lemme just say the the tension between fighter Jacob and doctor Riley was INTENSE. The entire first massage scene had me blushing. 🥵

LOTS of push and pull in the beginning. Both guys were straight until Jacob popped a boner and Riley rubbed his nips. Then they were both questioning everything while also fighting that inevitable pull.

My biggest gripe? Nowhere near long enough. Holy fuck. The fact RILEY was the top? Obsessed. This could have been completely flushed out and made into the smuttiest smutfest EVER. Goddamn that would've been amazing to see Riley hit that full dominance and Jacob submitting. The few scenes we got just weren't enough for all the build up.

And honestly, I needed more relationship too. We missed out on seeing this dynamic grow and that makes me really sad.

Usually I don't mind less smut but this one was so tense and vibey I felt cheated in the end.

And all the hints and cameos of other couples!! I just love how I'm just following along on all these quick, sexy stories.

Another hit from this author! I love JP's novellas - each one is a guaranteed good time! I inhaled this one night before going to sleep. Jacob + Riley? Such a match! Jacob is a cage fighter - not only that, but the best of the best and he has a rep to protect. When his trainer/rep starts to notice him favoring a certain shoulder, she calls in a favor from an ex. Enter Riley, a sports medicine doc who believes in the healing power of touch. Get where we are heading!! Yes! The help and healing has to take place on the DL, so that means at first Riley's abode and then later Jacob. Are lines crossed? yep - in oh so many ways! Riley helps Jacob to relax *giggle* and soon their attraction to each other really cannot be hidden in a pair of grey sweatpants anymore! Loved the smut, loved their double awakening, loved all the touching....and really loved Riley's little brother who is such a delicious brat. Can't wait to read more from this author!

Couldn’t put it down
I thoroughly enjoyed this read and just couldn’t put it down. Jacob is a cage fighter in the illegal fighting ring. But he is suffering with an injury but he cannot show weakness and that’s where his manager knew what he needed and this is where Dr Riley comes in. That’s all I’m telling you.
you could feel the electric tension between these two. This book is a bisexual awakening for both men. It is sizzling there were times when I held my breath what a fantastic Read cannot wait for the next Book in this series.

A truly bi-awakening romance that developed so naturally that it sorta sneaks up on the reader as much as it does the characters in the story. It starts off very clinical, and slowly morphs into something ultra sensual. Both parties grapple with their feelings and both run away at some point, but in the end they find their way to one another again. I almost wish that there was just a little bit more to the end as I feel that they just got to a good spot in their relationship and then the story ended, almost to the point of being abrupt.

Great story

I really enjoyed this story. This is the second book in this series and it can be read as a stand-alone but you might see a glimpse of some familiar characters if you’ve read the first book. These two were such complete opposites and they definitely shook up any preconceived notions about roles. I can’t wait for more.

I really enjoyed this romance between doctor Riley and fighter Jacob. This created a unique and original dynamic that kept me invested as boundaries were crossed, as their feelings deepened over time. Both of these guys had some significant hurdles to overcome with their intimacy and overall traumas, which created a great backdrop to their overall story.
