Living the fast life pushes the memories back, but a trip home brings them right back up.
Becoming a million dollar madam in the streets of New Orleans, Louisa was both feared and respected, but when it came to the law, she was wanted. Nothing is free. That was her first lesson learned. Even money costs, and the price that Louisa paid for her wealth kept her up most nights.
Can she face her fears and finally get across? Or will she create another mask to hide behind?
A refreshing break from my usual read. I feel it shows what happens when nobody breaks the generational curse. You end up with generations of women not knowing how to love themselves and their children. Good read.
Getting Across is a wonderful book. It's like eating really good dark chocolate; you know 1 piece is enough but you have 2 then look back and the whole box is gone. T. M. Duncan I'm hoping there's another book in the works very soon.
