A dark cowboy romance where obsession meets passion, and he'll stop at nothing to get his girl.
Ivy I’ve lived the same day over and over again for years, telling myself it was everything I deserved. Until he walked into my life, his knight in shining armor routine one I believed to be fake. But proximity and experience have shown me he’s anything but.
Oliver I told myself I’d never love again, but everything about her screams to me. I told myself I’d stay away from temptation, but when temptation shows up at my door, I can’t seem to do anything more than stare into her eyes and call her mine—no matter who tries to stop me.
Within the Fallen Stars is book three in the dark small town romance series Raven Creek. The series is made up of interconnected standalone's, and can be read in any order, but please be mindful that there are minor spoilers if read out of order for previous couples. Please be mindful of the content warnings, as both characters are a bit unhinged in their own ways.
I’m a sucker for red flag crazies, and this was NOT that 😭😭 very mild red flag behavior. Honestly, I’d say Oliver is basically a yellow flag? Theres only a few “red flags”, but she’s into it, and he later tells her anyways 🤷♀️😆
This book is definitely slow burn, nothing really happens for the first 50%, but 💥 once it finally starts - holy jeezus - the dirty talking, call me daddy, spânking, hand necklaces - all 😮💨👌 chefs kiss 💋 still only 2🌶️ just because I’m mean like that… give me the spiceeeee 🙃
So Oliver is the oldest brother, single daddy and widow. He’s still grieving his late wife. Ivy is best friends with Aspen, and has a really shitty BF. I love a “she upgrades” trope 🙌 plus daddy Oliver definitely treats her like a queen ❤️ I also love the girl gang/found family they have going on, any book with group chats just makes it better somehow? 😏
MMC: Oliver Carragan (32) FMC: Ivy Tinsley (22) ❤️Tropes: Cowboy, grumpy sunshine, slow burn, single daddy, daddy kînk, mild red flag MMC, protective MMC 📍Setting: Raven Creek, Colorado 💁POV: dual, first person 🖤Darkness level: 1/5 🔥Spice starts at 60% 🌶️Spice: 2/5 📚Plot: 4/5 🌎World building: 4/5 ⚠️Triggers: cheating (not MMC), BC tampering, hand necklaces, house fire, drûgging (consensual?) 🤪
ARC Review. First I want to thank Kelsey Lee for the opportunity to dive back into Raven Creek.
Within the Fallen Stars is book three in the Raven Creek series and it follows Oliver and Ivy. We met both characters in book one Beneath the Midnight sky. Oliver is Rowan's brother and Ivy is Aspen's best friend. Oliver is a grumpy single dad who works for his family’s ranch. He meets Ivy on a very traumatic night for his brother Rowan when Ivy shows up at his house to help watch his son Hudson. When Ivy shows up at his front door he is completely taken back and begins to feel things he has not felt in years since losing his late wife. Ivy is a waitress at the local bar who also does book content on the side. She is dating a pos in a man named toad.. I mean Todd. He has really lowered herself of steam and made Ivy feel as though she is not good enough and she does not believe in herself. She ends up finding that in the grumpy cowboy she ends up helping by taking his son to hockey practice. Oliver sees and notices everything about Ivy. When he gives her the ultimate birthday gift Ivy starts to see it too. Todd becomes very possessive and does something so unforgivable that Ivy ends up on the doorstep of the one man she knows she shouldn't.. Oliver.
The relationship between Oliver and Ivy was so beautifully written. I am obsessed with these two and I knew from book one that they were going to be some of my favorite characters. The love that Ivy shows Hudson is absolutely inspiring to read and I love the dynamic between the group of friends! Hello, the set up for book 4 OMG!!!!!!!!! Kelsey Lee is such an amazing storyteller. This is by far my favorite book of my 2026 reading journey so far. Top couple of the series for me. Absolutely loved this book and the story. Ivy's growth and Oliver's unwavering patience and the way he showed up for her was unmatched. I am obsessed.
5 ⭐ 3 🌶️
Tropes: - She has a boyfriend. He doesn't care. - Age gap (10 years) - Grumpy x Sunshine - Birth Control Tampering - Daddy/Babydoll
Absolutely stunning, beautiful and amazing definitely my favorite story of the series so far which means….. sweet baby Rowan I’m sorry to say this but your older brother Oliver has knocked you out of first place! Let me tell you Kelsey absolutely did not disappoint one freaking bit with these 2 she never does and yes she heard every thought I had while reading! Ivy and Oliver’s story was amazing and I devoured it so fast I just couldn’t get enough I was swooning and laughing and fanning myself off every other page. It just warmed my heart seeing Ivy and her relationship built with Hudson you could already see how much he adored Ivy and how much she adored him too. And all it took for Oliver to just be head over heels for her (while being in denial about it lol) was a rambling sweatpants wearing Ivy and her explaining what a kindle is. But also let me tell you the absolute mouth on Daddy Oliver my gosh you will need to sit in front a fan while reading this his words and his growling 🫠 it will have you melting into a puddle! He is sooooo daddy that’s for sure absolutely unhinged as could be too but it wouldn’t be a Kelsey book if the men weren’t!! And I love that all the brothers back each other up and help with each one’s chaos the banter between the girls and guys and everyone is everything and the way they all have each others backs no matter what and the girl group everyone needs friends like aspen, ember, ivy and Payton. But his nickname for her I was in love everytime he said it like kicking feet in love swooning all over the place! And ugh Todd 😒 we never liked him from the beginning his nickname was very fitting he was slimy and gross just like a toad but did I freaking cackle everytime they talked about him and called him toad?? Yes yes I did 😂. And I absolutely cannot wait for book 4 I just haven’t a feeling we are in for a ride with Payton and Damien!!!
Another stellar book from Kelsey Lee and her Raven Creek series. I seriously did not want to put it down. I just fell in love so quickly with Ivy and Oliver.
Ivy, the FMC, is just in a terrible relationship and is having a hard time leaving. She is just such a deeply caring person. I really loved the relationships she has with her friends, Aspen, Ember, and Payton. Like these friends are goals. They would do anything for each other and they aren't afraid to call each other out when making terrible decisions.
Now we get to Oliver. Oh I absolutely love Oliver. Has he overtaken Wyatt in top Carragan brother? I feel like it's a tie, I just love them both. Oliver is just down bad for Ivy and I was having a great time just giggling and kicking my feet. The age gap was delicious and spicy time???? 🤭 I was happy screaming. I just really love how one drunken comment from Ivy sort of created this spicy play and Oliver was just all for it, no hesitation whatsoever. I really just enjoyed their chemistry and they really just worked together as a couple. And Oliver's POVs were just some of my favorite chapters because Oliver is just a sweetheart and he's unhinged but like in a subtle way.
Now Enter Hudson, Oliver's son. I absolutely love how easy it was for Ivy to just be there for him and love him. Like the bond between them was just so heartwarming. And of course Hudson is everything to Oliver so it just made sense that the woman he fell in love with had a special place in her heart for Hudson.
Definitely a must read in this series. I loved having characters from the other books appear in this one, cause you just can't have a Raven Creek story without some unhinged Carragan sibling situations.
Within the Fallen Stars is book three in the Raven Creek series, and just like the first two, I absolutely ate this one up. I could probably end this review by saying it has Daddy Oliver and leave it at that, but I’ll give you a little more.
This story follows Ivy and Oliver in a will-they-won’t-they, age-gap, friends-to-lovers, grumpy/sunshine romance that manages to be both sweet and spicy. Ivy is stuck in a terrible relationship with an equally terrible guy and struggles to walk away. Did I think that part dragged on a little longer than necessary? Yes. Was I able to get over it? Also yes.
The attraction between Ivy and Oliver is obvious from the start, and once Oliver realizes what he wants, this man is all in. Boyfriend or no boyfriend, he’s not backing down. The daddy energy was absolutely daddying. While Oliver isn’t quite as unhinged as his brothers, he still has enough of that possessive, protective energy to keep things interesting.
And when these two finally get together? Whew. The chemistry is insane.
I also loved seeing Oliver as a father. His relationship with Hudson added so much heart to the story, and I really enjoyed watching the bond that developed between Ivy and Hudson as well.
Overall, I really loved this one. The tension was great, the spice delivered, and Oliver completely won me over. I loved the way he showed Ivy what she deserved in a relationship and how she should be treated. He does the Carragan brothers proud and this book is a strong addition to the Raven Creek series. Highly recommend.
🌟 thank you to Kelsey Lee for the ARC and the opportunity to read and provide my honest review.
HOLYFUCK. Kelsey Lee absolutely owned me with this book.
Within the Fallen Stars was everything I wanted in a dark cowboy romance and then somehow gave me even more. Ivy and Oliver completely consumed me from the very first page. These two are messy, damaged, obsessed, a little unhinged, and absolutely perfect for each other.
Ivy broke my heart. Watching her live the same lonely existence and believe that’s all she deserved was devastating. Then Oliver storms into her life and from that moment I was DONE FOR. This man is possessive, protective, obsessive, and willing to burn the world down for his girl. Every time he called her his, I was kicking my feet and screaming.
But can we talk about Hudson? Sunny completely stole pieces of my heart. Every scene with him had me smiling like an idiot. The relationship between Oliver, Ivy, and Hudson added so much emotion and warmth to a story that already had me in a chokehold.
The chemistry was absolutely insane. The tension, the longing, the obsession, the passion… I devoured every single page. Raven Creek continues to be one of those series where every book pulls me in deeper and refuses to let go.
I laughed, swooned, stressed, and fell completely in love with these characters. Ivy and daddy I mean Oliver are easily one of my favourite couples in the series.
Now excuse me while I impatiently wait for the next Raven Creek book because I NEED it immediately. Kelsey Lee has me fully addicted to this town and these characters.
An easy five stars and one of my favourite reads of the year.
First I just want to say thank you @kelseylee.author for this physical arc copy!! You are amazing🖤
I have wanted Ivy to find a healthy love filled relationship since book 1 and I’m so happy we finally got her story!
Here we follow Ivy as she has been in an absolutely crap relationship. For someone who is full of light and joy her being in a relationship that was full of manipulation, secrets and unfaithfulness left her a shell of herself. She is young and doesn’t know if this love is real, but when you’ve been with someone for so long it’s hard to step out of your comfort zone and leave.
Enter Oliver Carragan, he gives off boss daddy vibes lol he tries so hard to stay away from Ivy and her expressive green eyes that gave away everything. Oliver is a single dad and feels like being with someone else will make him forget his late wife. But when he finally realizes this could be good for his family man oh man does it get delicious!
With Oliver being a single dad and stubborn he sees asking for help as him failing but when his son Hudson wants to start hockey he needs to ask a certain blonde girl for help.
Favorite quotes “Ivy was the definition of the sun, and she wasn’t shining, so the world felt dark and the air felt thick”
“I didn’t just kiss her. I devoured her.”
“I will own you, Ivy Tinsley. Mind, body, and soul. There is no amount of denial you can walk and this house with that will change that fact. You may need time, and I may allow some of it, but know that you will always be mine. Do you understand?”
“Did you know, the first time I saw you, I couldn’t admit it then, Ivy, but you looked like home.”
🖤🌶️🌶️🌶️ Tropes Single Dad/ Nanny Age Gap (23/33) Grumpy/ Sunshine Daddy/ Babygirl BC Tampering Friends to Lovers
Absolutely beautiful book. It’s so cozy and swoony and Oliver a man you are.
It has the cowboy feel, the pining, the tension, found family. Slow burn to a crisp With a touch of darkness and reasonable amount of hot SPICE.💋🌶️🌶️🌶️ When Ivy and Oliver were together all you can do is smile. Their chemistry is unmatched and I loved everything about this book.
And if you love the single dad trope mixed with the daddy k!nk then you’ll fall in love with this book while drooling
Thank you so much Kelsey for allowing me to read this book 🖤

Maybe I’d check his horoscope for him. Let him know the days where he was supposed to smile.
It’d been years since I’d danced, but with her it felt natural. As if she’d been in my arms forever.”
I needed her to stop haunting my dreams for starters. I needed her to stop uttering the word daddy.
I felt myself nodding, though when she took a step away from me, the smile on her face, it felt like my very soul was leaving with her.
“People should make a point to show your that you’re appreciated.”
He was the definition of sex on a stick out West.

A hug from Ivy Tinsley really did fix a piece of me.
“I’m not even sure what I did to deserve this…” “Existing seems like a solid place to begin.”
Me after reading a Kelsey Lee book: “Okay no… they are DEFINITELY my couple. Like actually… I’m unwell. These are endgame. These are GOALS.”
Because seriously, how does Kelsey keep coming up with these unhinged, chaotic, absolutely unhinged scenarios?? I’m gagged every single time. I can never put the book down. Honestly, if work didn’t exist, I would’ve vanished and finished it in one sitting without hesitation.
And don’t even get me started on the Carragan men. Phew. I need one immediately. The way they don’t even blink before jumping into some absolutely insane plan like it’s just Tuesday?? It’s always “yes, obviously we should do the most reckless thing imaginable but also add THIS and THIS for extra chaos.” I can’t.
But real talk… OLIVER IS SO DADDY. And yes, I said it. He’s my favorite Carragan brother and I will not be taking questions. Maybe until we get it Theo, he’s so mysterious.
Ivy is honestly all of us. Trying to make things work that clearly shouldn’t work, giving grace where it’s not always deserved, holding onto history because it matters but eventually realizing, yeah, I have to choose myself too. And I love that she had Aspen, Ember, and the rest of the crew helping her see that.
Together, Oliver and Ivy just fit. Like no notes. Perfect. The bonus of Hudson and Ivy’s relationship? Just the icing on an already unhinged, delicious cake.
I loved this story so much I’m already trying to dive back in and live there forever.
I absolutely LOVED this book. *Within the Fallen Stars* completely pulled me in from the very first page and did not let go.
This is a dark cowboy romance that leans hard into obsession, passion, and two beautifully unhinged characters—and I ate up every second of it. Ivy and Oliver’s story is intense in the best way. Ivy’s quiet acceptance of her life at the start broke my heart, and watching Oliver come in and completely disrupt that cycle? Obsessed. He might tell himself he won’t fall, but the second he does, there is no turning back—and I loved how all-consuming his feelings for her became.
The slow burn in this book is *slow*—like painfully, deliciously slow—but when it finally hits, it HITS. The payoff is so worth it, and the tension leading up to it made everything feel that much more explosive.
One of my favorite parts, though, was the group dynamic. The way all the characters interact adds so much depth to the story, and those little glimpses of other couples and future stories have me so excited for what’s coming next. And I have to mention Ivy and Hudson’s relationship—I really loved the complexity there and how it added another emotional layer to Ivy’s journey.
And that ending? Everything. Truly everything I wanted and more.
If you love dark romance with obsessive heroes, messy emotions, and a slow burn that delivers in the most satisfying way, this one is 100% worth it.
Well a new cowboy has entered the chat everyone and Oliver is everything that you want him to be. Single dad ✔️, an absolute Daddy ✔️, protects his family ✔️ and the mouth on him 🥵. We love a MMC who knows what he wants and isn’t bothered by another man getting in the way, especially when he is an absolute 🔔. He is down so bad and I was totally there for it.
Ivy - sweet, kind, slightly chaotic, do anything for her friends. I mean at times, you don’t know whether to give her a hug or a shake but we have all been there so you can’t help but love her.
This is a slow burn, and I think less spicy than the previous books in the series but when the spice happens, your patience is rewarded and Daddy Oliver brings the goods.
But outside of that, this is a story of ride or die female friendship; friends that support each other regardless of the decisions they make; brothers who care for one another deeply not just because they are family and a group of characters who root for one another forever, support each other are always each others cheerleaders. It was so good to see Ivy getting what she deserved not just in terms of Oliver but in her life overall. Oh and she has a bookstagram too so we love her.
Thank you so much for my ARC @kelseylee.author - I have loved this series so much. I can’t wait for book 4!!!
Okie Besties... we're back in Raven Creek, and this time it's Oliver Carragan's turn in "Within the Fallen Stars"... to completely steal the spotlight. If you've met the Carragan brothers before, then you already know these men don't understand boundaries... but Oliver takes obsession to a whole new level. 🤭
At first glance, Oliver comes across as the quiet, stoic cowboy who's focused on raising his son, Hudson. But once you're inside his head? 😳 Whew. This man is absolutely G.O.N.E. for Ivy. The second he decides she's his, there is no turning back. Logic... Gone. Restraint... Never heard of it. And honestly, watching his unwavering determination to claim Ivy made this book impossible to put down.
Ivy and Oliver's chemistry is intense from the start, and the spice absolutely delivers. The tension, possessiveness, and emotional pull between them kept me glued to the pages. Add in the small-town atmosphere, the age gap, single dad vibes, and enough dark romance energy to keep things deliciously chaotic, and I was completely invested.
This was such a wild, entertaining ride from beginning to end. Raven Creek continues to be one of those series I can't get enough of, and this book and series belongs on your TBR! 💯
My Ratings: ⭐ 4.5/5 ▪︎ 🥵 3.5/5

"Did you know," he began, his voice soft in the otherwise silent space, "the first time I saw you, I couldn't admit it then, Ivy, but you looked like home."
Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
The Raven Creek series is SO so good, I've loved every book and I was so excited that we were getting Ivy and Oliver's book next. From the start they are the sweetest match - Ivy dotes on Hudson ("Sunny", that never not got me!!) and all while Oliver tries to keep his distance (and as Ivy deals with her deadbeat boyfriend), it's impossible for them to ignore their mutual chemistry and attraction.
There is literally nothing Oliver wouldn't do for his girl (and I was swooning each time), and I absolutely loved the way Ivy so thoroughly embraced this - there were definitely moments that had me gasping (in the best way) and both me and Ivy were so along for the ride. There's so many scenes and dialogue that I had highlighted, there's so many steaming moments between them.
I had such a great time reading Within the Fallen Stars! The Carragan brothers are something else, and I love the friendship & sisterhood between Aspen, Ember, and Ivy. This was so good!

[I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, thank you so much Kelsey Lee! 📖]
I enjoyed this book and I loved the element of Ivy being a reader and book lover.
Oliver was a DADDY 🌶️🥵🌶️🥵 He just wanted to take care of Ivy. He was so thoughtful, paid attention and actually listened to her. He really was the perfect book boyfriend.
Ivy ugh. She was kinda annoying during the first half of the book and pissed me off with how she didn't deal with Todd. Idk why she didn't break up with him? She knew deep down she didn't love him and she avoided being at home so she didn't have to be around him, yet she kept making excuses as to why she didn't leave him. She kept trying to work things out, but he wasn't worth it. He was such a loser and an asshole to her. It was frustrating to read.
I absolutely loved her bond and relationship with Sunny. He was the cutest kid and he was so happy when Ivy was around. The way she talked about him and how she came up with his nickname? Ugh my heart 🥹💛
I forgot there were two other siblings left; Theo and Payton. I know Payton works as a nurse, but I'm curious to see what Theo does. They just said he had a new "security" job. It makes me think he's part of the mafia or something sketchy. I'm so excited her book is next! Damien (bff to Oliver and the bar owner) was so intriguing and the sneak peek we got at the end of this book makes me so excited for it! Theo will have a second chance romance with the girl from HS (Violet), so I know that one will be emotional.
We’ve been building up to Ivy and Olivier’s story since book one, and now that it’s here, it does not disappoint! While not as dark as the first two books in the series, I promise you’ll see a whole new side to this stoic cowboy that proves he’s a Carragan through and through!
From their very first encounter, there is no doubt that Oliver was obsessed with the pixie blonde in pink. And while Ivy may have always been drawn to Oliver, she couldn’t act on those feelings without dumping the pathetic excuse for a man she’s currently with first.
Despite their best efforts to keep each other at arms length, the pull between these two is simply too great to ignore! Oliver is hell bent on showing Ivy how a real man treats his woman, and he exceeds at each and every turn.
And, can we talk about how adorable Hudson was! The relationship that Ivy built with Sunny was truly something special. Every kid deserves glitter paint signs and a love like that!
The Carragan family is one of a kind, and I would happily accept a seat at that table. They protect what is theirs at all costs, and Ivy was claimed by the Carragan’s long before she showed up on Oliver’s front porch.
It looks like Payton is up next, and I can’t wait to get to her story. With a secret side job and eyes for her brother’s best friend, I have a feeling we are in for another wild ride.
I absolutely love Kelsey’s books and have read all of them yes, ALL. This is the third book in the Raven Creek series, and it follows Ivy and Oliver. I absolutely loved them both.
Ivy is such a sweetheart, so caring and lovable. She’s a waitress, loves reading books, and does book content for them. She’s stuck in a terrible relationship and struggles so much with leaving, which made her feel incredibly real and relatable.
And then there’s Oliver… a grumpy sweetheart that I adored sooo damn much. Every interaction between him and Ivy was amazing. Their chemistry? SO good. The tension between them had me hooked from the beginning, and when they finally got together? Chef’s kiss. They worked beautifully together.
One thing Kelsey always delivers is characters who feel real and human, and this book was no different.
Also, Hudson Oliver’s son, he was such a sweetheart. I absolutely loved his connection with Ivy. And Oliver being such an amazing dad made me love him even more.
Now Ivy’s boyfriend/ex? Yeah… I wanted to punch that man sooo bad.
Overall this book was amazing. The pacing, the writing, the tension, the spice everything was top notch. The way Oliver showed Ivy how she deserved to be loved warmed my heart so much.
Thank you, Kelsey, for trusting me with this ARC. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to see what you give us next.
This book could be read as a standalone but I suggest reading the series to get the full scope of the story and characters.
This book follows Ivy and Oliver.
Ivy is the best friend of Aspen from book 1. She has been dating Todd for a few years and thought he was the one she would end up with. Their relationship starts to go downhill and he starts to invalidate her and her feelings.
Oliver is the third brother of the series. The broody and grumpy cowboy that has taken over running the ranch after their father died. He is a widow with an 11 year old son, Hudson. He thought he would continue with his life raising his son on his own, until Ivy made an appearance.
I enjoyed how both Ivy and Oliver stepped outside of their comfort zones in order to grow for each other. Oliver had to get out and be social and do things he wouldn't normally do and Ivy had to learn who to put her trust in and how to find her worth.
I like how this series really shows women empowerment in different ways and through different struggles and just how valuable and special we really are. Though, I think this is my favorite out of the series so far.
Again, I am excited to continue the series and hopefully read Theo and Payton's stories.
One moment my heart is still reeling from all the feels! First I want to give a big thank you to Kelsey for one giving me the opportunity to arc read this and two for giving us Ivy and Oliver. The Raven Creek series has quickly become one of my favorites and I can't wait for more!
Now to get into all this book means to me which is a lot. I've been a reader for YEARS but until Ivy I've never had an FMC be so relatable. I swear I wouldn't be shocked if Kelsey did a magic trick and peeked into my wounds and past. That being said I took plenty of emotional breaks and had plenty of tissues nearby. And with everyone of those breaks came a bit of healing.
Sometimes it's not easy to love yourself more and walk away especially when you aren't even sure you love yourself in the first place. So we stay for whatever version of "love" someone can give even if we deserve far much more. Until hopefully we learn how much we're worth and how much we deserve REAL love. A kind of love that doesn't make you question yourself inside and out. A kind of love that shows up even when we say we don't need it. A kind of love that protects, supports, and encourages.
That's the love Oliver and Ivy have and the kind of love we all deserve. So please remember that, and never settle for less.
Spotted: one reader losing sleep over a dangerously addictive new series
You know how most books end with me dropping my Kindle on my face somewhere around chapter three because sleep eventually wins? Well, Within the Fallen Stars had other plans.
At 2:30 a.m., I found myself still turning pages, completely incapable of walking away from the chaos unfolding before me. Sleep? Irrelevant.
Now let’s discuss Kelsey Lee, shall we? Because this queen clearly understands the assignment when it comes to dark romance.
The Carragan brothers? Protective, possessive, obsessive… and willing to cross every legal and moral boundary imaginable to keep what belongs to them. Tracking? Arson? A little light criminal behavior in the name of devotion? Apparently all part of the family business.
And somehow we love them more for it.
As for Oliver Carragan? Well, let’s just say Daddy was daddying.
And Ivy? Loved her. Fascinating, lovable, and exactly the kind of heroine needed to survive all that beautifully unhinged masculine energy.
The verdict? Looks like Kelsey Lee has officially earned herself a permanent spot on my auto-buy list.
Careful, readers. This one may cost you sleep and your standards for fictional men.
The first book in this series was my favorite until now, I loved the first one but this one is perfect in my opinion.
The friendships in this series are so important, they all support each other no matter the situation. Especially Aspen was very supportive for Ivy when she needed it the most.
Ivy is a very good friend and a kind person to everyone even when they don't deserve it. She makes everything she can to ensure everyone's happiness but sometimes forgets about her own.
Oliver is the perfect book boyfriend in my opinion. He is really interested in Ivy's passion for books and makes her the perfect gifts in this regard after very careful research. He is so sweet and loving but also possessive and demanding in the right moments. He is patient with Ivy when she needs it but he also knows how to make her confess what's bothering her. He is always there for her and does everything to keep fer safe and happy.
Usually I am not so fond of the nicknames in this book but here I absolutely loved them. I loved this book entirely, is my favorite in the series so far and I can't wait for the next love stories! Oliver is also my favorite but very close to Rowan!
Book 3 in the Raven Creek series Oliver and Ivy This is a forced proximity, 10 year age gap (32/22), grumpy/sunshine, friends to lovers, single dad/ nanny, slow burn, found family, opposites attract, unhinged morally grey MMC, dark cowboy romance. I absolutely love this series and book three most definitely delivered. I was hooked right from the start and I couldn’t get enough. I love how everyone in the series comes together, the found family trope is written so well. Ivy is in the worst relationship ever and feeling like she is unable fully leave and being manipulated was so hard to read because she is such an amazing FMC. Oliver fighting his feelings for Ivy and being the most amazing single dad after his wife passes away years prior made him such an incredible MMC. This was such an emotionally charged read. The pining and yearning slow burn, the character development and journey that Ivy had to go through, the push-pull emotions that they were trying to fight, I loved it all. Oliver and Ivy were so perfect for each other. I most definitely recommend both this book and this series!
I was lucky enough to be part of the ARC team to read this book before its release, and below are my honest thoughts!.
If you like: 👨🏼🍼 Single dad/nanny ☀️ Grumpy/sunshine 🔝 Age gap (10 years) 💜 Friends to lovers
Review: This is book 3 in the Raven Creek series (and it is recommended to read them for max emotional damage & understanding). Oliver is DADDY 🤤 . Single father after his wife dies and he’s raising his son alone (with his family to help). Ivy is friends with the family and always around, but can’t see to kick her stupid, useless boyfriend, Todd (why is it always a Todd?). Ugh, such a strong, dirty-talking man who finally took what he wanted (maybe a little unhinged but 🤷🏼♀️) Ivy finally got some 🏈 s and found herself. I finished this book in one day (zero shame). THE HEA 🤚🤌🏼 The support and love from the found family is beautiful, and the way not only Oliver but also his brothers would do ANYTHING for Ivy (or any of the girls for that matter) is so heartwarming. Oliver’s mouth is something out of every girl's cowboy dreams 🥵 🔥 🌶️
This was my first book by Kelsey, and it definitely won’t be my last.
I absolutely adored Oliver and Ivy. Both carry wounds from their pasts, and those experiences have shaped the people they’ve become, making their journey feel authentic and emotional.
Ivy is stuck in a relationship that isn’t good for her. Deep down, she knows it, but finding the courage to walk away is easier said than done. There were more than a few moments when I wanted to shake her and remind her that the man-child she’s dating doesn’t deserve a second of her time.
Oliver, meanwhile, is a widower whose world revolves around his son and his ranch—until one unexpected night when he has to leave his son in the care of a beautiful woman who arrives at his door carrying a Kindle and wearing fuzzy slippers.
The chemistry between Oliver and Ivy was wonderful, but what truly won me over was Oliver himself. I may have squealed more than once when Daddy Oliver made it clear that he was willing to wait for Ivy, even as his patience was beginning to wear thin.
I also loved the relationship that developed between Ivy and Sunny. Their moments together were heartwarming, and seeing Oliver step up for Ivy whenever she needed him only made me love him more.
This was a sweet, emotional, and satisfying romance with characters I couldn’t help but root for from beginning to end.
Thank you Kelsey Lee for this ARC of Within the Fallen Stars, I have been waiting for what feels like forever for this book and it did NOT disappoint‼️
Ivy and Oliver give me straight up heart eyes 😍 and I couldn’t get enough of them🫶
This was a slow burn, slowest of all the series, but it was worth it‼️ When these two ignited it was an inferno 🥵 I loved how this one started with the prologue being the night the Carragan boys went to save Aspen, and Ivy showed up to watch Hudson (Oliver’s son) how their interaction and everything grew from that was 🥹
The way that Ivy leaned into the way Oliver was unhinged in the BEST way and how everything he did ensured that the “Toad” would be no more 😛
Whew the Carragan fam are something special, I can’t wait for Theo and Peyton story but also kind want more of Tessa, Ivy’s sister too!

When you loved book 1 & 2 but book 3 comes along and wow! This book is hands down my favorite out of the Raven Creek series so far!!
Our MMC, Oliver, is your "Daddy" Cowboy, widow/single dad is just content with life. That is until Iv,y our FMC, comes barreling into his life. Only problem in Oliver's way is Todd, Ivys manipulative, crap of a boyfriend of 4 yrs 🤢.
With obvious attraction, friends/family who enjoy in meddling and just life, they are constantly being brought back together. Oliver makes it known Ivy is his whether she comes to terms with it now or later, doesn't matter to him, as long as she understands there is no one else.
Ivy is the literal definition of sunshine and her current boyfriend does his best to keep her hidden under dark clouds. But Oliver being the man he is, is not having that and does everything he can to show her seeing her shine is the best part of his life.
I loved Oliver. I loved how Oliver decided that he was interested in ivy and didn’t let up about it. I loved how he kept doing things to win her over.
What I didn’t love was how stupid Ivy was. What do you mean she stayed with Todd for as long as she did? She also seemed very naive and immature to me. And sometimes when the age gap is kind of big, and the FMC is either immature or inexperienced, it makes them seem juvenile and that makes it uncomfortable.
I did think that Ivy’s relationship with Hudson was sweet though. But again, it seemed like instead of her being the nanny, she was like a big sister so the relationship was almost uncomfortable.
I wish Oliver would have killed Todd or at least done more over the tapes and photos. I also have more questions about what pill he gave ivy and where were they when he tied her up and demanded her tell him what happened with Todd.
This was a great book. It drew me in from the very first chapter. I loved Ivy, Oliver and Hudson. It was filled with some emotional scenes, some funny ones, some serious ones and much more.
The scenes with Ivy and Hudson were so cute but I loved the scenes that Ivy, Oliver and Hudson were together, doing stuff. It was so cute.
Oliver really cared about Ivy and you could see that when he remembered all the small things about her while Todd couldn't. I loved how Oliver continued to show Ivy that she deserves better and showed up for her in all the little ways.
I wasn't a fan with how long it took Ivy to leave but I understand that it shows that sometimes it takes time to leave what you are comfortable with in order to experience something new. But due to this, it made some parts to be dragged out or repetitive.
Did I like the premise of the book? Ummm Yeah! Do I love the Daddy/Baby Girl vibes? We know I'm unhinged like that! There was just something missing for me. Personally I think there was too much time spent documenting all of the waiting.
Imma be so real...I also wanted more from Daddy Oliver. Like A LOT more.
There was a scene in the barn, when he had her just where he wanted her and it honestly just fell flat.
I also expected more from Toads demise.
I love Kelsey's writing which is why I rounded up! Books one and two were such knock outs that I had hoped for more unhinged behavior here, not less. I also know enough about myself that I will totally invest in the audio for this one when it comes out, because sometimes perspective can change the narrative ..but right now this is where I am.
This slow burn just couldn't keep my attention for the first half of the book. I knew going in this brother wouldn't be as unhinged as the first two. Oliver confesses too easily to protecting Ivy and bc tampering. We knew Oliver was biding his time, but sheesh half a book of just sitting back and not chasing didn't sit right with me.
I absolutely love that she got away from Toad 😉 and Oliver embraced his Daddy side, but it wasn't enough to give it 4 stars this time. I can't wait to see their sister Payton and eventually Theo fall. There are some nice peaks into the books that will follow this one.
