Tibetan Gospel by Farrukh Dhondy.
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Darius Cama, born into a Zoroastrian family, moves to London and finds Jesus. He joins the church and calls himself Father Darius Francis Cama. One day, he’s called by the Vatican church to go to India and find out about an old Tibetan scripture that could bring down the whole belief system of the christians. Theres a gospel which could prove that Jesus didn’t resurrect and that he was secretly moved to India after the crucifixion. Goes on to say that Jesus lived there until the age of 110, died and was buried there. This could break the whole of belief of Jesus being an immortal son of God. Darius disguises as a Zoroastrian high priest and goes to the monastery where he finds that the gospel was written in a crypto-tibetan language which was currently being translated by Banko in London. Darius goes to London to get the translated version. Will Darius find the truth? Will he prevent the downfall of the christian belief?

The book promised a more thrilling story line involving a lot of secret societies which is also following this gospel. There are instances of Darius and Banko being followed and hunted down. The book would have been better if there was more involvement of the other societies and also more of the christian community trying to follow up on the story. Overall, a good read but could have been better for a 350+ pages book.

Tibetan Gospel is not a gentle read. It takes one of the most explosive questions in religious history and turns it into a thriller that refuses to let go. Father Darius Cama is a priest with a sharp mind and a genuine faith, sent to bury a legend that refuses to stay buried. What begins as a quiet investigation becomes a chase across continents, through sacred scrolls, secret networks, and people willing to kill to keep the truth hidden.

What makes this book work is that it never settles for easy answers. It asks the question at the heart of it all: if Christ never died on the cross, what becomes of faith itself? That is not a question the book flinches from, and it is not a question it answers cheaply.

Farrukh Dhondy writes with the confidence of someone who has spent decades thinking about these things. The pacing is sharp, the stakes are real, and the tension never lets up. It is a thriller, but it is also a meditation on belief, heresy, and what we are willing to accept as truth.

If you like historical thrillers that blur the line between fact and fiction, this one will stay with you.

What elevates Tibetan Gospel above a standard conspiracy thriller is Father Darius Cama himself. He isn't just a pawn of the Vatican; he is a man wrestling with his own conscience. As he unravels the threads of the forbidden text, the lines between his duty to the Church and his pursuit of the truth begin to blur. The forbidden love and betrayal he encounters along the way make this a deeply emotional and human story. It is an intelligent, thrilling read that never loses sight of the people caught in the crossfire of history.

Farrukh Dhondy has crafted a masterclass in historical suspense. Tibetan Gospel doesn't just ask "what if," it builds a meticulously researched, plausible world where the answers are terrifying. The journey from the hidden shrines of Kashmir to the icy monasteries of Ladakh is filled with secret networks and ruthless extremists. The way the historical fragments of the ancient text are pieced together kept me turning pages late into the night. It is a smart, gripping, and deeply atmospheric mystery.

What makes Tibetan Gospel so powerful is how it handles the theological conflict. It doesn't just use religion as a backdrop for a chase; it genuinely grapples with the implications of its premise. If Christ never died on the cross, what happens to the faith of millions? Watching Father Darius wrestle with this question while dodging assassins and unraveling a centuries-old cover-up is a profound reading experience. It’s a thriller with a soul, asking questions that stay with you long after the final chapter.

From the very first page, Tibetan Gospel grips you with a sense of impending danger. The stakes couldn't be higher: the very foundation of Christianity is at risk. Father Darius is thrust into a deadly game of cat and mouse against religious extremists and shadowy networks where absolutely no one can be trusted. The betrayals cut deep, and the relentless chase across continents will leave you breathless. It’s a brilliant, fast-paced thriller that explores the darkest corners of history and human ambition.

I really liked the writing, it was effortless. I could easily come back to the book even after a long break. Loved the twist, I could see that the "Tibetan Gospel" would not achieve it's motive, but I was not expecting that it would turn out that the shrine would belong to "them" . However, I did not like how things ended between Daisy and Dara, but that's a personal preference.

Enjoyed reading it!

Forbidden" is the perfect word for this book. From the forbidden gospel itself to the forbidden love and the deadly secrets, the tension never breaks. Father Darius is a fantastic lead—caught between his vows, his intellect, and a terrifying truth that could dismantle everything he has dedicated his life to. The pacing is relentless. Just when you think you know who to trust, Dhondy pulls the rug out from under you.

At its heart, Tibetan Gospel is a meditation on what happens when the foundations of faith are threatened. It’s not just a chase across continents; it’s a journey into the human soul. If Christ never died on the cross, what becomes of faith? The way the author handles this question is masterful giving no easy answers, but offering a thrilling ride to find them.

The atmosphere of this book is incredible. Dhondy brings the mountains of Kashmir and the monasteries of Ladakh to life so vividly you can feel the cold. The weaving of Indian culture, Buddhist monks, and Catholic dogma is seamless. It’s a story about secrets, betrayal, and the terrifying lengths people will go to protect their version of the truth.

Tibetan Gospel is fearless. It takes the ultimate "what if" of Christian history and turns it into an unputdownable narrative. The idea that Christ survived the cross and traveled East is explored with incredible historical detail. It’s provocative, daring, and deeply respectful of the search for truth, even as it tears down institutional walls.

A relentless, globe-trotting thriller that grabs you from the first page. Father Darius is a brilliant protagonist sharp, faithful, yet deeply human. The way Dhondy blends the icy, atmospheric setting of Ladakh with high-stakes Vatican intrigue is masterful. It asks massive questions about faith, but never forgets to keep the pace fast and the stakes lethal. A brilliant read.
