Finding a cheap room in the city feels impossible until her best friend offers a move in with her boyfriend’s cousin. The catch? That man is Nathan Hansley, a brooding tech entrepreneur with a mysterious edge and zero interest in small talk.
Nathan lives by one rule above never let anyone close enough to matter. Ariadne has a way of slipping past every wall he’s built. Now, stuck as roommates, she pulls him into a connection he never saw coming.
What begins as a temporary arrangement soon blurs into late-night conversations and uncontrollable sparks. I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Becca Fall for supplying this ARC. 💭 Non-Spoiler Review
I’m not going to lie…this was the perfect palate cleanse for me. I was getting a little bored of the same books that I had been reading (mainly hockey and mafia romance) and this was a very nice change of pace. It was quick and cute, very light hearted. There are some open door spicy scenes in it but very few and not very long which was also a very nice change from the overly smutty books that I have been reading lately (which I absolutely love so no judgement here). Ariadne (not like Ariana Grande IFYKY and which I definitely did read her name as for the first like 2 chapters) comes from an overly loud and boisterous and very close family. When her elderly grandmother moves in she has to move out to make room for her. As someone who works part time as IT support and freelances on the side as a graphic designer she doesn’t have a ton of money saved up and there aren’t many options for apartments in her price range. Enter Nathan, one of the very side members of Ariadne’s friend group. Nathan has a spare room that she can move in and has lingering feelings from their first meeting almost a year ago.
📖 Would I Recommend? Yes
Best for readers who love spicy friends-with-benefits situationships, messy “we said no feelings” dynamics, and chemistry-packed romances where catching feelings changes everything.
Thank you to Becca Fall for sharing an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I think this book fell into my lap at just the right time and I felt insanely connected to the FMC. Ariadne is an eldest daughter in a big Greek family who feels like she's falling behind in life compared to the people around her... yeah. That hit home. As a note, this is book 3 of a series, and I haven't read the first 2 books yet, so I missed some context that I think would've been useful for this plot. But I still enjoyed the read and plan on finishing this series.
The plot: Twenty-five-year-old Ariadne is used to the hustle and bustle of her big Greek family. She's used to putting their needs first and going out of her way to make sure they're taking care of, even if it means she can't focus on the freelance graphic design business she wants to grow. But when she needs to move out of her family home on short notice so her sick grandmother can move in, the rug is pulled out from under her. Finding a place that fits her tight budget is a challenge... until she bumps into her friend's boyfriend's cousin and he offers her a deal. Nathan doesn't let people in, and he's absolutely fine with that. He's built a thriving cybersecurity business without letting anyone get close to him. But Ariadne, with her conspiracy theories and love of true crime podcasts, disarms him, and when he hears she's looking for a place, he goes against his better judgment and offers her his spare room. These two roommates couldn't be anymore different, but the arrangement is just meant to be temporary. But what happens as their bond begins to strengthen, and they realize that maybe they weren't appreciating all that life had to offer?
What I liked: - Dual POV -- and they were both interesting! I enjoyed getting a glimpse into both of their thoughts. - Man, did I resonate with Ariadne. As a fellow Greek first-born, I get it. I see so much of myself in her. The devotion to family and friends. The fear of moving forward and leaving that all behind. I think that's very much how I live my life. - Nathan is really set up to have a mysterious character and it takes time to learn the full story. I like that I had to wait and learn more about it as I was getting attached to the characters. - Opposites attract, grumpy x sunshine... I love when a pleasantly chaotic woman comes in and completely turns a brooding, buttoned-up man's life upside down - Ariadne and Nathan see each other so clearly. While they may take time understanding what it is they each want, they notice each other in big and small ways. - Jealousy!! Paired with pining!! And not with the intention of hurting someone!! A bit of a love triangle!!
What I didn't like: - I would've liked to see more of their budding dynamic. The narrative quickly jumps from them not speaking to them knowing each other very well and I think that needed more build up. Especially for Nathan. He goes from being very stoic to suddenly baring his soul and saying things like, What made his walls come down so quickly, and then go back up again, and back and forth? Sometimes that seemed unpredictable and without pattern, but maybe that makes it more realistic. - I also wanted more of Ariadne's interactions with her friends -- did she tell them about Nathan? What did they think? That could've added a fun layer to her processing her feelings.
✨ ARC Review ✨ We’re heading back to the burrow with the next book by Becca Fall, and I loved every minute of it!
We follow Ariande, who is suddenly forced out of her home while caring for her ailing grandmother. After a string of questionable (and honestly terrible) apartment options, she’s given the chance to move in with Nathan—a man whose number one rule in life is don’t let anyone get too close… and who is clearly hiding a complicated past. Watching these two navigate living together was so much fun. The banter is fantastic, the tension builds perfectly, and the story moves at a pace that keeps you hooked from start to finish.
If you’re looking for a fast-paced read with great chemistry and engaging characters, make sure to check out One Glimpse Together when it releases on April 7!
Thank you to Becca Fall for the opportunity to read this ARC! 💛
Tropes ✨ 🏡 Forced Proximity 😏 Grumpy x Sunshine 🖤 Secret Past 💬 Banter-filled Romance
Okay but this banter was FUNNYYYY. It lost stars because there was no epilogue and I feel like it ended prematurely. And the FMC reminded me of the annoying girl from your elementary school class that wouldn’t stop talking about her family any chance she could get.
I enjoyed this read! It was fun and cute! I love the forced proximity and grumpy x sunshine tropes! Nathan is the guy that acts tough and like he doesn’t care but deep down he and when Ariadne moves in it is hard to resist her moonlight! I haven’t read the other 2 books in the series but that didn’t cause a confusion. This definitely a must read if you are looking for a cute little romance! ARC reader for this book
A soft, emotionally grounded romance that almost loses itself… but ultimately finds its way back. Tropes Forced proximity (roommates) Slow burn → mid-book intimacy Emotional unavailability / guarded MMC Found softness / healing love Third-act breakup (miscommunication + self-worth) “I don’t deserve you” → growth arc Caretaking / quiet acts of love Stray cat symbolism 🐈
The Good • The emotional themes are strong and consistent. Fall continues to shine in writing relationships rooted in care, growth, and emotional safety. Ariadne’s journey toward independence while still allowing herself to be loved feels grounded and relatable, and Nathan’s arc—though subtle—ultimately lands with intention. • Nathan’s characterization makes sense… eventually. What initially reads as flat or muted pining is revealed to be intentional. Nathan isn’t a loud or overtly expressive MMC—he’s restrained, guarded, and shaped by a lack of foundational love. When his feelings finally surface, they feel earned rather than performative. • The relationship is built on presence, not perfection. The shift from “perfect partner” to “consistent partner” is one of the strongest thematic elements in the book. The idea that love is shown through effort, not flawlessness, gives the romance real weight. • The emotional payoff does land. Despite a frustrating third act, the resolution brings both characters back into alignment with their growth. The final conversation feels honest, mutual, and earned—even if it comes later than it should.
The Not-So-Good • The third-act conflict is frustratingly drawn out. The breakdown isn’t the issue—the lack of communication is. Nathan’s silence, especially after previously expressing his feelings, feels inconsistent in the moment and risks breaking reader trust before the story corrects itself. • The pacing dips in the final stretch. At around 80–85%, the story stalls in emotional limbo. Instead of escalating tension, it lingers in avoidance, which weakens the momentum right before the resolution. • The pining lacks intensity for much of the book. Because Nathan is so emotionally muted, the longing doesn’t fully translate until later. While this is thematically intentional, it can make the middle portion feel flatter than expected for a romance.
Overall One Glimpse Inside is a quiet, emotionally thoughtful romance that prioritizes growth over grand gestures. While the third-act conflict pushes the limits of patience, the story ultimately realigns with its core message: love isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up. It may not have the same sharp emotional pull or standout moments as Fall’s previous books, but it delivers a steady, heartfelt romance that sticks the landing just enough to leave you satisfied.
~♡~ One Glimpse Inside is the third book in The Burrow series by Becca Falls, a cute, swoony romance with characters you'll instantly fall in love with. I haven't read the other two books in the series but that didn't pose a problem as we were given a short backstory of description of each character, so you don't have to worry about that!
☆ I liked the opening of the book since it was gripping from the very first lines, and made me instantly like and relate to the main female character. I especially connected with the fact that she felt lonely as all her friends have found love while she hadn't. Furthermore, from the first chapters we learn that she cares a lot for her family, that she often puts their needs above hers and that she is an independent woman which I highly appreciated.
☆ What I loved most were the main characters. The mmc was a completely green flag that treated her with so much care that you couldn't help but love him. Their personalities were clearly defined, they had both qualities and flaws and didn't feel at all like the typical protagonists from romance books- they were entirely original, in my opinion. Both the fmc and mmc had flaws that readers could easily relate to, which made them more lovable and realistic.
☆ The love story developed beautifully, gradually and very naturally. However, if I were to be entirely honest, there were some scenes that to me seemed a bit forced or too abruptly introduced. Also, here and there were moments of miscommunication but they were quickly solved- a detail that I appreciated, as it showed that the main characters learned to discuss about their feelings and work through their problems together- it made their relationship seem more real, rather than a perfectly crafted story.
☆ In the end, it was an enjoyable read, a well-written book that I highly recommend.
Thank you Becca Falls for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC 🩵🎀
One Glimpse Inside is a cute story about Nathan and Ariadne, the third couple in the Burrow Series. I was fortunate to have been an ARC reader for Becca's two previous books, One Like Away and One Infinity Together. I really enjoyed the first two books, so I figured I'd also love this third one.
Nathan is very closed off in the beginning due to his career while Ariadne is trying to remain positive when she is forced to move out of her family home. Ariadne struggles at first but the more she gets to know Nathan, the more comfortable she is in being away from her family. I felt that while Nathan was reluctant in having Ariadne take his spare bedroom, things seemed to pay off for him as he was willing to let his guard down. The relationship between them was authentic and not forced at all, though it did seem like both held back at times. I loved that they took a stray cat off the street...this immediately made me love Nathan :)
When it came to the subplot of Nathan's company being subjected to potential scandal regarding seed investments, I felt that it showed the reason for Nathan being so closed off. I felt that the plot line was good, but I would have liked to have seen more regarding what happened to Oliver.
In all, this was a very quick read for me. 4/5 stars. 2/5 spice. Highly recommend to readers who enjoy billionaire romance, forced proximity, slow burn romance, and he falls first/she falls harder. I loved the sneak peak into Britney and Carter and can't wait for their story this summer.
Thank you Becca for the review copy. All opinions are my own.
And here is where an indie author knocks it out of the park with a contemporary romance for the eldest daughters and ones who always had to feel like they had to make it alone.
With “One Glimpse Inside”, Becca Fall brings together eldest daughter Ariadne and “I had to forge my own path” Nathan with the simplest of gestures - a favor disguised as a quid pro quo, causing a roommates-turned-lovers RomCom that has you sucked in from the first page. Fall has done what many indie romances authors are able to do so much better than most mainstream authors and that’s give us characters who have depth, seek growth, and are vulnerable. The HEA comes through a path of building trust, peeling off their own layers, and allowing themselves to break from their pasts.
Two things I want to mention as part of this review: 1. I found myself trying to cast this as a movie right out of the gate. The first thing I realized is I have no idea who most 25-35 year old actors are. So I need to think on this one some more because at this point Marisa Tomei would play Camille, not Ariadne. 2. There was a simple moment in the book that had me DMing the author like 😭😭😭. I won’t spoil it for you, but it was the sweetest, most simple heartstring moment. Prepare yourself.
Overall, if you’re looking for a book that will reassure you that sometimes independence means knowing when it’s ok to open up - and you’re an eldest daughter/had to do it yourself person - this book is a must read.
This book??? Yeah. It had me. 4.5 Stars (rounded up to 5!) and 2 🌶️
I loved Ariadne forcing Nathan to actually communicate like an emotionally competent human, and the growth?? It hit. It landed. It stayed. Nathan being the “hard for everyone, soft only for her” type will always do it for me. Every. Single. Time. And don’t even get me started on the eye contact requirement… (insert silly giggles and feet kicks here!) because if a man is making you look at him?? I’m already gone. No notes. 🫠
The humor? So good. The chemistry? THERE. The emotional payoff? Worth it.
BUT... we need to talk about the pacing real quick. Because why were we sprinting through some parts and then suddenly stuck in a "1 step forward, 3 steps back" type of emotional (and frankly, physically, rollercoaster?? Like I get it… growth (and love) isn’t linear… but I was stressed 😅 However, now that its been said, watching Nathan work through his past and become someone capable of loving her the way she deserved? Yeah. I ate that up.
Also, as someone who moved fast in love (and is now 6 years married with kids and an adult house)… I was fully rooting for them the whole time. No hesitation.
This was my first read from Becca Fall and now I’m officially invested. Thank you so much to Becca for allowing me to be on the ARC Team for this book!
Thank you to Becca Fall for the eARC. This is my honest review of her book, which releases April 7, 2026.
Ariadne Katsaros has been living with her parents - along with a number of her other boisterous family members - when suddenly her parents give her two weeks' notice to move out. Adriane doesn’t have the budget for an apartment in Chicago that isn’t horrible (she looked, and nope.), After some intervention from mutual friends, she “temporarily” moves in with Nathan Hansley. She is adorably weird, and he is uptight and aloof. She is feeling rejected by her family, and he is dealing with a dark problem from his past. Together they can either work through those issues, or procrastinate the hard conversations forever. “Maybe we’d talk later. Maybe the questions would be addressed another day.”
If you don’t like the FMC dating while clearly crushing on the MMC, beware. BUT Nathan’s response to this is EPIC. A chocolate chip cookie has never sent such a forcefully clear message.
Tropes: Forced Proximity Roommates Grumpy/Sunshine “Let’s Make a Deal” He Falls First He Falls Harder
4-Stars: This is the third book in the series, but the first one I’ve read. I will absolutely be going back to read the rest of the series. Definitely recommend to Contemporary Romance lovers!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a cute rom com with a grumpy sunshine vibe. One Glimpse Inside is the third book in this series, I did not have a chance to read the first two before reading this and I didn’t feel like there were things I didn’t understand.
One Glimpse Inside follows the story of Ariadne & Nathan. Ariadne is a the fixer at home and helps everyone in her family. But when things change quickly and she needs a place to stay she ends up staying with the socially awkward, rich, weird guy who’s related to her friend’s boyfriend. I love that Ariadne instantly becomes attached to the neighborhood stray cat and Nathan finds the cat with Ariadne’s scarf for warmth. They have great chemistry and it’s obvious they feel complete when they’re together. The sweet changes that occur as Nathan begins to open up and share his past with Ariadne are heartwarming.
I wish the subplot of the office and Nathan’s past would have had some more substance to it. Overall a sweet romance with likable characters. The story had a good flow to it and kept me engaged.
I was privileged to be chosen to be an ARC reader for this novel however this review is all me and I didn’t have to leave a positive review at all. I truly am looking forward to Britney’s story next and in the meantime catching up with the first 2 of the series!
Then this is the book for you! This is book 3 of an interconnected standalone series. Our FMC, Ariadne, a self-less, creative, family oriented woman, finds herself at a cross roads in her life and needs a place to stay, temporarily, while she figures out her next move. In steps our MMC, Nathan, a grumpy, set in his ways, closed off dude who happens to have an extra room. With the encouragement of the Ariadnes besties, the Burrow Bitches, she accepts the help Nathan is offering and moves in. Neither of these characters feel like they can accept help or rely on others when they need to. Both are closed off and afraid to be something other than their carefully constructed walls have allowed the to become.
This story is full of heart and a lot of laughs. With great banter and character growth, I really ended up loving this pair and was rooting for them to figure out a way to grow and find their own happiness. There was a good balance of sweetness and spice, with a few open door spicy scenes that I really enjoyed. You can start here, with book 3 or go back to the beginning and check out Macey and Kira's stories in books 1 and 2. An easy, feel good read for these rainy spring weekends. I am giving this a strong 4.25 stars! I'm excited for more Britney in book 4!
ARC Review! I am a sucker for a romcom and a cute cartoon cover. I thought this book had great potential to be a 5 star read! The MMC was a bit dark and while I felt you did get to learn a bit about the past that had gotten him to where he was in the book, I feel the author could have explored a bit more. Without trying to give anything away, it also seemed that the "problem" the character had to work through during the book, seemed to be fixed quite easily. For all of the MMC's struggles, I would have liked to see the "problem" stick around a bit more to see how it changed the dynamic between the MMC and the FMC. Speaking of the FMC, it is clear from very early on she is part of a HUGE, messy family. Ariadne talks quite a bit in the book about her family and how she constantly feels pulled in so many directions. It was odd to me that the family seemed to just not need her anymore. It seemed as though this should have been a gradual reduction in need of Ariadne and not as clean cut as it was in the book. Overall, I feel the book was a cute story, likeable characters but could have been developed a bit more. Looking forward to reading more by Becca Fall!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I just finished the ARC for One Glimpse Inside (Book 3 in The Burrow Series) and I really enjoyed it! I also ARC read One Like Away, so it was fun getting to return to this world and see familiar characters again. The story pulled me in quickly and kept me invested the whole way through!
The forced proximity and rom-com vibes were honestly my favorite part, and the romance really carried the book for me. The chemistry between the characters felt natural and kept me turning pages because I wanted to see how everything would play out. I do wish we got a little more depth into Nathan’s struggles with his issue, but overall the relationship development and emotional moments made this a really enjoyable read.
If you’re into light rom-com romances with tension, sweet moments, and a fun cast of characters, this is definitely one to check out. You don’t have to read the first two books to understand what’s going on, but seeing returning characters made it even more fun for me. A solid romance read that’s perfect for anyone looking for something cute, engaging, and easy to fall into before release day
I’m thoroughly enjoying this relaxing romance novel. I can genuinely connect with Ariadne’s character. She prioritizes the well-being of others over her own. The forced roommate situation with Nathan is quite intriguing. It’s relatable to the current exorbitant rent prices. From the outset, Nathan demonstrates a genuine interest in her, which is uncommon since it’s usually the girl who falls for the boy. As a reader, we all crave uniqueness in a book. Witnessing their relationship gradually develop due to their forced proximity has been incredibly captivating. The tension escalates, creating a palpable sense of longing for something close yet unattainable. However, it becomes frustrating when Nathan fails to express his feelings. While staying true to oneself is essential, adapting to your partner’s needs is equally crucial. If he had openly expressed his emotions, the relationship could have progressed more swiftly, and she could have been his. This book serves as a perfect example of how personal growth and connection are more significant than material gifts. It’s a slow-burn romance that builds tension, and I find it incredibly relatable.
I will start out by saying that I was given an ARC copy to read and am giving my own opinion. I really loved this book and how sweet it is! Ariadne (the FMC) and Nathan (the MMC) are perfectly suited for each other and I loved watching their story unfold! The story is a perfect blend of humor, romance, tenderness, and self realizations, giving it depth as well as making it light hearted. I loved watching Ariadne and Nathan help each other realize parts about themselves that they would not have known/fixed otherwise, allowing each other to grow not only as people, but also as a couple. My favorite example of this is when Ariadne finds Shadow (a stray cat who show up at their building) and wants to help him, but Nathan says no because he’s afraid of allowing someone in just for them to leave. In the end, Shadow becomes a part of their family, but it was Ariadne who helped Nathan realize this and helped him work on it. This story was absolutely amazing and I would absolutely recommend it! Thank you so much to Becca Fall and her team for letting me read the book! I really enjoyed it and appreciate the opportunity!
One Glimpse Inside (the 3rd book in her Burrow Series) gives you that classic grumpy/sunshine dynamic, but what really made it work for me was how the relationship developed through their everyday interactions—not just big dramatic moments. Watching him slowly soften (even when he clearly didn’t want to 😅) while she stayed optimistic and warm without feeling over-the-top was honestly my favorite part.
I also really liked the setting and the slower pace of the story. It gave you time to settle into their world and actually enjoy the build of the relationship instead of rushing straight to the romance. It felt very easy to read and easy to get lost in.
There’s not a ton of heavy drama here, which honestly worked in its favor. It’s just a solid, sweet romance that leaves you smiling by the end.
This is definitely one I’d throw in a beach bag or take on spring break—light, swoony, and super easy to binge.
Okay but wait, I really enjoyed this cute romance! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Admittedly this is the first time I have come across Becca Fall (thank you insta algorithm), which means this is also the first book from The Burrow series that I have read, and I am so glad I did.
This book had banter, it had navigating family dynamics, it had past secrets and living with consequences, it had romance, and a little bit of spice, it had girlhood. I loved it!
We follow Nathan and Ariadne who first start out as roomates, but with a forced proximity trope you can probably guess 😉 Mix in some happy moments, and hurdles throughout that help make this such a great development of characters and plot.
I felt the book was fast paced, but not in a bad way. We get a deleted scene which made me giggle, but I do wish there was an epilogue- I wanted just a little bit more from this grumpy x sunshine duo.
Overall this was such a fun read and I will definitely be circling back from the other books in The Burrow series! Thanks Becca ✨
This was my very first ARC read, and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction! It was truly incredible!
Thank you so much to Becca Fall for the opportunity; I absolutely loved this story and feel so grateful this was my first ARC experience.
Ariadne (Ari) is a deeply selfless and caring FMC who finds herself needing a place to live after getting kicked out of her chaotic family home. She is struggling in a terrible dating scene, and stuck in a part time IT job she doesn’t love, all while dreaming of pursuing graphic design. I was rooting for her the entire time.
Nathan is broody, serious, successful, and a little mysterious 👀 He owns a tech company and offers Ari a place to stay rent free in exchange for graphic design work. At first he gives off Mr. Grey vibes, but you quickly see his walls are there for a reason.
The yearning between these two… chef’s kiss. He falls first, and watching Ari slowly see who he really is was so rewarding. Their connection felt genuine and emotional.
Also... there is a cute cat involved... just saying
This book brings us back to The Burrow series, and as a fan of both the world and its characters, I was genuinely excited to return. It feels like revisiting a familiar place, which is always a strength of this series.
Ariadne is a warm, likeable protagonist who is easy to root for, while Nathan is a classic smouldering love interest. Their dynamic is compelling, especially as Ariadne moves in with him, and their chemistry is clear throughout the story.
That said, I found myself wishing for a slower burn to their relationship. A more gradual build-up could have added extra tension and emotional depth. Similarly, the story’s climax felt a little understated. I would have loved something more impactful to really bring everything together.
Overall, I still really enjoyed this book. The characters remain its strongest asset, and it’s a sweet, engaging love story. I just found myself wanting a little more to fully elevate it.
One Glimpse Inside is a slow-burn romance that brings together Ariadne and Nathan through an unexpected living arrangement. Ariadne, forced to leave her home, finds herself striking a deal with Nathan—a seemingly grumpy but ultimately guarded and complex character. As they navigate living together, their growing attraction is paired with emotional growth, especially as Ariadne challenges Nathan to open up and communicate more honestly.
The story takes its time developing their relationship, allowing their connection to build in a meaningful way. However, the final quarter of the book felt somewhat disconnected from the rest of the story, with the relationship suddenly going off track before finding its way back. While it eventually comes together, it disrupted the overall flow for me. Still, it’s a good story with strong potential and characters worth rooting for.
~ARC Review~ Becca Fall One Glimpse Inside takes a look into the life of Nathan and Ari. Nathan our tall, dark and grumpy main character who loves things his way and a room to spare. Ari is compassionate, the family coordinator and a career driven women forced to move out of the family home.
I really enjoyed this book! The author's ability to describe each character and situation sucks you in. No forced rom-com humor but subtle things that make you giggle throughout. As a boy mom, the twins made me crack up! The character's growth through the book was touching, the way they communicated with each other made me fall for them even more. I wish we had more closure regarding Nathan and Oliver; I kept waiting for him to pop back up.
My favorite part had to be the bad day bowl, I think everyone needs one!
Grumpy / Sunshine, Forced Proximity, He Falls First, Witty Banter, Fun Friend Group - Cute!!
This is a very cute rom-com with a fun and supportive (Burrow) friend group and I enjoyed it as much as the previous books in the series, although it works easily as a standalone. Ari and Nathan end up as roommates because he has an extra room and she needs a suitable and safe place quickly as she is being kicked out of her family home so her grandmother can move in so her family can take care of her grandmother. It seems like a great solution except the friends pushing it don't realize that Nathan has been harboring a secret crush on Ari for months. Her sunshiny self moves in disrupting his quiet life, and fun, banter and chaos and more?! ensue. Ultimately they are the perfect balance for each other and I can't wait to see what happens next in this friend group - Enjoy!
I was sent an ARC by the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This forced proximity rom com focuses on Ariadne. She is a confident woman, who is extremely family focused and the glue holding her family together, stepping up to handle things any time they ask. But, with her grandmother moving into the family home, Ariadne finds herself needing a new place to live. Insert Nathan Hansley, cousin of Ariadne’s best friend’s boyfriend, and brooding cybersecurity CEO with a knack for precision and order in his life.
I enjoyed following the state of grumpy x sunshine characters becoming roommates. Their friendship created trust for their own personal growth and support to work through their history of rough interpersonal relationships. There was quite a bit of miscommunication along the way as well, which were the hiccups of their connections.
Thank you @beccafallbooks for the advanced copy of this book. One Glimpse Inside is book 3 of the interconnected, standalone series, The Burrow.
I understood where Ariadne's heart was regarding family matters and being a people pleaser even at the risk of depleting herself(because I relate) but I just couldn't bring myself to like her past that.
It was a little slow in the beginning because they kept reiterating Nathan's lack of emotions or interest in basically anything except work and really emphasized the grumpyxsunshine trope with Ariadne making comfortable noise in the space they share. I felt like the mini spicy scene was abrupt because one second they were both crushing/Ariadne was self conscious about not wanting to bother him but then she's suddenly straddling him? Just seemed very forward for her character.
The banter was great but then I felt pretty bad for Nathan around the 50% mark where it basically felt like she led him on. My heart literally broke for him when he grabbed the chocolate chip cookie😭😭
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Great book to read that kept me turning the pages. The story had a really intriguing premise, and I loved how it balanced emotional depth with a steady, engaging pace. The characters felt real and relatable, especially the main character, whose journey pulled me in right away. I appreciated the way their struggles and growth unfolded—it felt natural and easy to connect with. There were definitely moments that hit emotionally and made the story stand out. The plot itself was interesting and held my attention throughout, though there were a few parts where I wished things had been explored just a little deeper or slowed down to really let certain moments land. That’s the main reason this is a 4-star instead of a full 5 for me. Overall, this was a solid, heartfelt read with a unique concept and strong character development. If you enjoy stories that mix emotion, a bit of intrigue, and personal growth, this one is definitely worth picking up.
One Glimpse Inside is the third book in The Burrow Series. This story of Nathan and Ariadne is my first introduction to the series, and I had no trouble jumping right in. But, I will tell you, I have added books one and two to my ever growing TBR.
Nathan and Ariadne find themselves as roommates in this forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine, story that I absolutely loved.
Nathan, with his grumpy keep everyone at a distance personality is actually a softy in disguise. Ariadne, with her need to take care of everyone except herself, is learning about selfcare. I loved the friendships, the slow burn, and the growth that brought this story full circle.
Nathan and Ariadne have some open door steamy moments that create tension, although the burn is really slow and perfect for this story.
I recommend One Glimpse Inside. Thank you to Becca Fall for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
One Glimpse Inside by Becca Fall is a quick, cute romance novel. As a graphic designer who doesn’t have a job lined up for after I graduate, I relate to Ariadne’s career struggle. I also have a huge family, but I’ve never experienced living with a lot of them as Ariadne has. However, when we are all together, I love the noise just as much as she does. I do also love Nathan, as I always love a man that falls first.
I felt as though Ariadne and Nathan’s stories were a bit rushed. Although, I might be missing some context, considering that I am someone who hasn’t read the first two books. I would’ve liked more backstory on each of them. I’ll definitely have to check out the rest of the series!
I’m quite sure this book could get most romance enjoyers out of a reading slump if needed.

Glimpse Inside by Becca Fall is a beautifully written grumpy x sunshine romance that delivers a satisfying slow burn. The story follows two characters who are still figuring out who they are, both individually and emotionally, which makes their journey feel incredibly real and relatable.
What makes this book stand out is the character growth. Rather than rushing into romance, the story takes its time, allowing both characters to evolve and better understand themselves and each other. Watching them learn how to navigate their emotions and build a connection together is both heartfelt and rewarding.
Overall, Glimpse Inside is the perfect read for anyone who loves a slow-burn romance with meaningful character development. It’s a story about growth, connection, and discovering who you are alongside someone else.
