He was trained to protect her. Not to fall for her.
Savannah Monroe never expected to become the center of a dangerous operation tied to her father's secrets. Now she's in hiding in an isolated, off-grid cabin, and completely dependent on a man who refuses to answer her questions.
Sebastian is a highly-trained, disciplined soldier...and hiding more than he lets on. As her assigned protection, the job is simple: keep her alive, gather intel, and walk away when it's over.
But the longer they’re forced to rely on each other, the harder it becomes to ignore the connection growing between them.
Or the secrets waiting just beneath the surface.
In the isolation of a remote cabin, tension builds, lines blur, and a slow burn ignites between them. And when danger finally closes in, Sebastian will have to decide: complete the mission...or risk it all for the one person he was never supposed to love.
Because when the truth comes out and the world turns hostile, safety may no longer be a place.
Savannah and Sebastian are wonderful and Jesse is awesome!
This book hooked me from the beginning! I had absolutely no idea what I walked into with this book, but I'm so glad I stayed! I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in the series!
Awesomely well done, June! Thank you for an incredible story!
I arc read this book, and I enjoyed it! I thought the plot was great and it kept me interested to see what was going to happen. I also really enjoyed the chemistry between the fmc and mmc! Was a good read!!
I was a beta reader for this so I am sure quite a bit has changed but overall this was a lovely little book the suspense was there the romance was that perfect morally grey dilemma! Spice scale 🌶️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I was an ARC reader for June Prescott’s debut novel and it did not disappoint. The action started early, hooking you in. The moody MMC was perfect and the internal turmoil of both main characters was beautiful written. The perfect blend of suspense and spice!
The book was really good, there were a few parts were it felt like things were moving super fast and it got a little confusing with the families involvement with what happened to Savannah and if they played a part in it or not. Otherwise it was decent.
I loved this story! Thought the plot was great and it kept me guessing g on what was happening. I didn’t know what I was getting into when I started reading this and am glad with the outcome!! Savannah and Sebastian were great main characters and I loved the chemistry they had! Jesse is also a great side character and thought he brought a good mix up into the store! Can’t wait to read Jesse’s story next!
