Kiss of Death by Talia Lane and Libby James is a why choose dark romance and I was obsessed with this one!
This book centres around Linen, when her whole coven is murdered by witch hunters, she vows to get revenge. When she returns to the swamp, she gets caught up with 3 demons who agree to help her. As they get more involved, they meet Adrian, a witch hunter who also agrees to help. I loved Linen, she is a badass and cool FMC and I love her so much! She is such an interesting character and this story had me totally gripped! I loved the relationships that Linen had with Adrian and the demons, and the way they developed! Did I forget to mention that this book is spicy?!? I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

First I’d like to thank the authors for this amazing ARC read. Linen is a witch who was betrayed and lost everything that she loved. Linen is such a strong woman who doesn’t take crap from anyone. Her men will do anything to protect what is theirs and I absolutely loved the banter between all the characters. The spice was 🥵and well written. I hope there is a second book!

This story has a lot of good bones and set up for the series.
One of the things I love about Libby James is her knowledge of Wicca and witch craft. She always does a great job of keeping that portion of her books based on realistic foundations of the belief system.
This was her first foray into dark romance and it is a why choose with 3 demon and one human male characters.
Linen is on her revenge arc after her coven and family were all killed and burned by witch hunters. She spends time off page putting a plan together with her goddess Lilith then returns to the swamps of New Orleans to enact revenge. She starts with the summoning spell she thinks is going to bring Lilith to her side by winds up with Hypnos the demon. He summons his two brothers, Otis and Raven. Then along the way they inherit a witch hunter as the 4th male in the reverse harem. The story ends on a soft cliffhanger with the possibility of new characters both human and paranormal being introduced.
This for me, was more entry level into the dark romance world. That is NOT a knock on the book, I have just been reading some much darker stuff!!! I will still read the next book when it comes out.

And one day, she goes to summon her and ends up summoning Hypnos, a demon, instead.
With Hypnos comes a few other demons with a whole lot of character whose eyes seem to only fall among her. And after they discover that she's related to Lilith, they're ready to help. Even when a couple hunters show up to the swamp looking for the last of the witches to take out under strict orders by their boss. Turns out that hunter doesn't want to hurt her, he just wants to be saved from the life he's been living.
Together, they want to help her seek the revenge on her family but in doing so, they must do a spell that's not only dangerous, but one they'll have to go to Hell to succeed. Because if they don't perform it correctly, they could all die. But if they do succeed in the spell, Linen will have a dangerous and powerful power. The Kiss of Death.

I was heavily seated for this one. Witches and Demons in a smutty why choose… count me in. The chemistry but between the Linen and her demons… and Aiden of course… was paced perfectly. The development from an accidental summoning to a loving relationship was dynamic and don't even get me started on the spice. There's straight fire in the smut department as Lane and James have written a thrilling paranormal romance that ends with a teaser to continue the series.

Linen is one of the strongest FMCs I’ve read in a long time. After losing everything she loves when her coven is brutally slaughtered by witch hunters, she refuses to be broken. Determined to get revenge, she sets out on a dangerous journey that is packed with action, magic, twists, and plenty of heat.
What I loved most was Linen herself. She’s fierce, resilient, and takes absolutely no nonsense from anyone. Watching her fight for justice while refusing to give up made her impossible not to root for. Alongside her are three incredibly powerful demons and one very sexy human witch hunter, each with distinct personalities that brought something unique to the story. The banter between the characters was fantastic, and I found myself genuinely invested in every relationship.
The chemistry was off the charts, the spicy scenes were incredibly well done, and the emotional connections felt natural despite the fast-paced nature of the story. I especially loved how each MMC complemented Linen in different ways, making the why choose dynamic easy to believe and impossible not to enjoy.

This book was so good! I loved the main female character Linen, the way she was written was a delicious combination of feminine rage, determination, unabashed sexuality, and intelligence. She is not afraid to be herself, to want, to need, and to go for it. I also loved that the author wasn't afraid to go dark, I am moving my way to some pretty pitch dark things, and this just touched on that appetite whetting it just a bit!!
I loved the progression of the storyline as you meet Linen first experiencing her trauma thought her eyes, then as they introduce the love interests one at a time. I felt the progression of things was well done, and once I picked it up, it was hard to stop reading! I want and need more of this story, and will be reading more of her other books. I am very much team why choose with this group!!! Love that for Linen!!!
I do admit that I normally read books with less spice but I loved how much this one had, it was a nice balance between not only the story, but the way it moved things forward. I also love that the author understood very well how sex, love, passion and lust can add to the power of magic. I love too they noted there is always a sacrifice, nothing is given out of thin air no matter what that may end up being. I can't wait to know more about their story, and what is to come. I highly recommend this book to my other lovelies (of all gender identities) who consume their smut properly and luxuriously, in a book!

After witch hunters brutally murder her coven, Linen is determined to make those responsible pay. Driven by grief and rage, she returns to the swamps she calls home and soon finds herself surrounded by three powerful demons and an unexpected attraction to a witch hunter she should absolutely hate.
Linen was definitely my favourite part of the story. She's strong and stubborn, and she refuses to let tragedy break her. I loved watching her navigate her desire for revenge while dealing with complicated feelings and relationships that kept throwing her off course.
The cast of male characters each brought something different to the story, and I enjoyed seeing their relationships with Linen develop. The chemistry was strong, the tension kept building, and the romance added another layer to an already engaging plot.
Alongside the romance, there was plenty of action, dark magic, twists, and danger to keep things moving. The story balanced its emotional moments with exciting scenes and enough surprises to keep me turning the pages.

Ooooh, what a spicy little witchy read! Linen is one tough witch! She has definitely been through some things and deserves every bit of revenge she is going after. And her spicy demons and Adrian 🥵. This is definitely a 4-5 🌶️ read. I am a sucker for a good why choose, not typically a huge insta-love person, but it was done well! I love all of her boys for different reasons, it’s hard to pick a favorite. Otis because he’s a sweetie 🤭, Raven because he’s slightly unhinged 😜, Hypnos for his fierce protectiveness 🥰and Adrian for his loyalty ☺️. I LOVED the ending and can’t wait to see what comes next for this group. I received an advanced readers copy of this book for my honest review. Thank you so much!

This is one of those reads that, once you start, you devour in no time at all.
Linen, our FMC, is out for a bloody revenge on the evil witch hunters that slaughtered her coven. She is a strong bad@ss witch who takes no nonsense and I admire her for that.
She has help from three very hot demons and a sexy human witch hunter. They all have very different characteristics that compliment each other and make Linen fall for them all. She’s a lucky girl!!
This why choose story is full of gripping action, revenge, violence and very spicy scenes that will have you panting. The ending was so good and left me wanting more which I hope we will get in a follow on book.

Libby James has become one of my favorite writers for witchy vibes. And this magical little number did not disappoint.
I was asked what team I was on before I started reading. By looks I would have chosen Raven, Otis or our main girl Linen. But after finishing the book I am all team Linen. Not only is she a bad ass witch and extremely powerful. But why choose one man when you can have four. LOL This girl can bring her demon boys on to their knees. They would burn the world down for her and sacrifice themselves if needed. Her hunter man damn he changed his mind on his life so quick after meeting her. This is the perfect little revenge story and a pretty surprising plot twist.

I finished this story so fast and with an ending like that I cannot wait to read what happens next! I absolutely loved the resilience of the FMC and who doesn’t love a why choose with demons book!

Hot damn this book is super spicy.
Like, have a glass of milk on the side, spicy, or a mango lassi for sure.
I really enjoyed this book; the spice was spicing, but the story had a plot. As expected for such a short book, everything went very quickly. No slow burn, no longing – hot, fast and sexy is the best way I can explain it.
Throw in some female rage, revenge served steaming and some growling, and you have yourself a lovely little palate cleanser between heavier reads.
I am honoured I was chosen to read this as an ARC

Why choose of demon and witchy delight.
I love that all the MMC’s had very different personalities and it made reading this so easy and easy to care about each individual character.
The FMC was a strong ass determined woman who took why chose to a whole new level and I would be happy to be her at any given time!
Witches, demons, humans and a hint at what is to come in book 2….. ladies please tell me there’s a book 2 coming 😭

If you're looking for a spicy witchy read ... here you go! The authors give us witches, demons, hunters, and a powerful FMC. She has multiple demons that help her and give us a "why choose" kind of spice. The authors did so well with this and really giving the characters their own personalities. There is a lot of spice in this story and it's just so good! I love Talia's writing and can't wait for her next story!

WITCHES AND NEW ORLEANS? SOLD
I have read everything Talia has written, but this was my first Libby James book. These authors worked so well together that it was hard to tell who wrote what. The spice was plentiful, the plot was great, and the ending was just what was needed.

It was good. I really enjoyed that the fmc was a witch and the intro was crazy and pulls you in immediately. Lot of smut with hot demons and a human. She took what she wanted and was a bad B!! Glad she got her revenge. Loved the names

I really liked this book a lot and couldn't put it down reading it in two days. Loved Linen, she is such a strong FMC who is determined to get revenge for the death of her family. Loved each of the four guys as well, but if I had to choose I would say I'm team Raven. Hoping for a book two. 🤞

This is a dark, why choose romance that follows Linen who as a young witch loses everyone and everything she cares for and knows. After years of plotting, it is time to get the revenge she has been waiting for and with a little help she wasn't expecting.
