The life of Bill Gates is a great learning for everyone from all walks of life. He is not only the worlds richest man, also a philanthropist. His foundation Bill and Melinda Gates work in eradicating malnutrition and poverty in developing countries.

This book comprises some of the lessons we can learn from his life.

A quick read and a good book to know him and his journey of life and business.

Quick and good reading on Bill Gates

I also read the same book from the same author (George Ilian) but on Steve Jobs. In several ways Gates and Jobs are similar:

- both of them dropped out from colleges to pursue their dream and passion
- both of them have invented revolutionary products and built exceptional companies
- both of them are genius and far ahead of the game

However there is one big difference between Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. That is the fact that Gates is using his wealth to fight poverty and save millions of lives in developing countries through the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. This is Bill Gates true legacy to the world, neither Windows, the iconic computer OS nor the Xbox or PC.

Overall a quick and good ready on Bill Gates.

I liked this book as it was short and sweet. Little to no filler, just lots of facts and lessons, which was the purpose of the book. I Liked the way it used real life situations where Gates used the lessons that are outlined in the book such as his adaptability and use of calculated risks.

Something I didn't like was that the book could be a little vague with not much substance in some areas. I rate it 3 stars as it did fulfill its objective of outlining the life and business lessons of Bill Gates, but in no way changed my philosophy to business.

A quote that sums up some of the lessons of the book is: "His adaptability to change, handling of adversity and ability to act with humility despite his enormous success, have all helped to make Gates a much more nuanced individual with both more to offer and gain from the world".

Not impactful

This book summarizes the key traits that led to the success of Bill Gates. However, it's missing the impact to the reader due to lack of actual accounts of Bill Gates daily life. For example, on the topic of "Focus", the actual content is about his drive. There is lack of detail account on his drive like how he worked till he slept in the college computer lab as described in the book "Hard Drive". The level of drive he has is understated which I led me to feel less impactful.

this is an interesting and informal book and here's why. This book talk about bill gates and his past life and it is pretty interesting to me because the author must have done a lot of research to know this much about bill gates and his past life. This book also talks about what he's doing now and how and why he chose to have this life. The last reason this is interesting is because the book talks about Bill's business and what you can do to be as successful as him. Overall this is very interesting and you should read it if you are interested in biographies.

More an extended article than a real book. Nice concise excerpt over some of the general drives for successful business. But almost every of those 'pros' lessons was Gates' 'cons' too.

There are several citation in the book that seared into my brain. One for all: "If you feel that you are lacking focus in pursuing your goals, it is perhaps time to reassess your objectives and question whether you are pursuing what truly matters to you". That I would mark as the critical point.

While this book provided some good overview about Bill Gates and his career, it was very short (just 52 pages), and it did not have enough content for me to get a deep appreciation for Bill Gates early work in Microsoft. This would be an appropriate book for anyone who wants a quick introduction, but I will be looking for a more in-depth biography.

A good book that shares and teaches us about Bill Gates's lesson from trying to develop Microsoft. The book contains his successes and his failures. This book is good for people who want inspiration and wants to learn from the richest man on Earth. This book is not long and suitable for people who do not have much free time.
