But I don’t want to talk to Max Sheridan. I don’t want to see his face or hear his voice. I definitely don’t care what he has to say to me.

Olivia Austin is drowning. Overwhelmed by the grief of losing her father, and the farm she's now responsible for, she’s struggling to keep herself afloat.

Desperately seeking an escape from the pain, she finds solace in the one person she shouldn’ Max Sheridan. Once her childhood friend, now he’s a bitter memory and her best friend’s arch nemesis.

Despite the guilt, she finds strength in their rekindled friendship, and the more time they spend together, the deeper her attraction to him goes, until she can't fight it anymore.

Olivia attempts to keep her relationship with Max separate from the rest of her life, until a positive pregnancy test shatters her newly found stability and happiness.

Faced with an impossible choice—where every option threatens heartbreak—Olivia must decide, and hope she doesn't lose those she loves most in the process.

The emotional conclusion to the Wildflower Ridge series, Oopsie Daisy is a small town romance between a woman struggling with the responsibility thrust upon her, and the man she's supposed to hate, but can't seem to stay away from.
You can expect cowboy vibes, mental health rep, ex-friends to lovers, and a surprise pregnancy.

Thank you to the author for a digital copy to review. All thoughts are my own.

As the fifth and final story in the Wildflower Ridge series, Oopsie Daisy held expectations for me to round out this world nicely, and overall, I feel like this was achieved. Following the five sets of romances set in this NZ rural small town and farm has been a journey that I've really enjoyed, and Oopsie Daisy, once I was settled into the book, provided a final story that I'd been waiting to read since book one. Olivia has been a core component from the first story, and I'm so glad she finally got her moment, found her place of solace and desire, and felt emboldened enough to seek out something for herself now that all her friends and family were paired up and happily in love, even if it came with difficult obstacles.

Ashwell always tackles emotional topics in these stories, and the loss of Olivia's father and how she was grieving his empty space in her life was well handled. As someone who has also lost their father, it's a difficult journey, and I feel the author honoured Olivia's grief and subsequent stress and trauma with gentleness and provided her a safe place to land, even if it was in an unexpected location. Equally, Max's own insecurities within his family dynamics and with those who he once loved endlessly as friends before his troubled teenage years, were a nice way to present his character and allow him to find redemption and confidence once again. I appreciated how vulnerable the author allowed each character to be.

I'll admit, I wasn't sold on this book initially. I knew coming into it the setup for this couple and also the surprise pregnancy trope, but I disliked how immature Olivia and her friend Katie were towards Max initially. I struggled to see these women as their respective ages, and was hesitant that I wasn't going to get invested. Max, however, and his patient (albeit very self-loathing) ways provided potential for me, and soon enough I became invested in watching these two rediscover the space carved out from their childhood develop into something fulfilling as adults. I appreciated that their miscommunication was cleared up well before the last portion of the book, and their individual and relationship development was well done. The intimate moments were well-paced and rewarding within the constructs of their hidden relationship, and I liked how the surprise pregnancy wasn't from the first time of being intimate, as so many romances tend to depict this trope.

Overall, I'm sad to say goodbye to this series. It's introduced some really special characters, and represented rural communities here in New Zealand well. I've enjoyed seeing how the author has blossomed herself as an adult romance writer, and I'm eager to read what comes next.

I am not okay. Not even a little bit.

Olivia absolutely wrecked me. Her grief feels so real it’s almost uncomfortable, like you’re sitting beside her in that quiet, heavy silence where everything hurts and nothing fixes it. She’s trying to hold together a farm, her life, her heart… and it’s all slipping through her fingers. It’s messy and raw and so painfully human.

And then there’s Max Sheridan.

I don’t even have the emotional stability to talk about this man properly.

The tension? Immediate. The history? Complicated. The whole “I shouldn’t want you but I really do” energy? Off the charts. Every interaction between them feels loaded, like one wrong word could either fix everything or burn it all down. And honestly… I was rooting for both outcomes at different points because the ANGST was that good.

This is not a neat, pretty romance. It’s tangled up in grief, guilt, loyalty, and choices that don’t have easy answers. The ex-friends-to-lovers dynamic hits so hard because you can feel everything they lost… and everything they might lose again.

And that pregnancy plot?? I was STRESSED. Like pacing-my-house stressed. It doesn’t feel like a gimmick, it feels like a real, terrifying fork in the road where every option costs something. The emotional weight of it all just keeps building and building until you’re completely consumed.

Also can we talk about the small town vibes for a second?? Wildflower Ridge feels alive. The farm, the community, the history… it all wraps around the story like roots, grounding everything while also making it harder for Olivia to escape. It’s cozy and suffocating at the same time, which is honestly impressive.

But what really got me was how this book handles mental health and grief. It doesn’t rush it. It doesn’t magically fix anything. It just sits in the mess and lets the characters feel it, work through it, sometimes fail… and try again anyway.

By the end I was emotionally wrung out, a little heartbroken, but also weirdly hopeful. Like watching wildflowers grow through cracked earth.

If you want a romance that’s soft and easy… this isn’t it.

If you want something that hurts in the best way, that makes your chest ache and your heart swell at the same time… yeah. This one’s going to own you. 🌼

The final installment to Wildflower Ridge (im in denial, don't talk to me about it)

Olivia has been such an integral part of the Wildflower Ridge family since book one and I'm so glad she finally got her story and what a perfect way to round out the series.

As always Elle manages to delicately write a balance of emotional hard hitting struggles and blooming romance with such care and relatability. She navigates real life struggles in a way that honors her characters and readers, that takes us on a journey, gives real depth to the story and makes the hard fought for HEA even more special.

Olivia struggles with grief, burnout and the responsibility of shouldering it all while inside she's crumbling, and she finds her solace in the most unlikely of people, Max - childhood best-friend before it all went wrong, now her best friends #1 enemy and a source of constant anguish.

Max's journey to redemption isn't easy, filled with lots of regret and hurt but he never gave up and never wavered in his support and care for Olivia despite it all. Underneath it all he just wants to apologise to the people he hurt and try and fix what he broke. Seeing him finally be forgiven and accepted into the crew was everything I didn't know I needed in my life.

Watching Olivia open up, heal and find some light again is as emotional as it is beautiful and the way Max quietly supports her through it all, giving her an outlet and helping her find her way back to herself without expecting anything in return was tear jerking perfection.

Olivia, Max and the entire Wildflower Ridge crew have to overcome old wounds, new conflicts and changing dynamics throughout the book but in the end we get a beautiful story of healing, forgiveness, growth and the most amazing end for the most perfect found family there ever was.

Wildflower Ridge is so much more than a small-town romance series, so much more than sweet & spicy love stories, so much more than a good time and a fun read, it's all of those things but it's also filled with journeys of healing, of hope & feeling represented and seen on the pages.

Oopsie Daisy is the highly emotional final instalment of Elle Ashwell’s Wildflower Ridge series. This final chapter follows Olivia and Max who are ex best friends turn lovers - so if you enjoy that trope, like a small-town romance and, notably, cowboy vibes then you should read this book.

Olivia is an Austin and stepping up to run the family farm after her Dad passes away is a given. As she navigates grief, her grief is heavy, she’s also trying to figure out how to juggle everything. For Olivia, she can’t say no and keeping everyone happy is getting too much. It becomes messy and raw, but relatable. Olivia is relatable.

Then there’s Max Sheridan.

Max used to be one of Olivia’s best friends. The reasons behind why they stopped being best friends hasn’t been resolved yet. He’s also navigating his own emotions surrounding his brother who passed away, but there is a poignant moment in the book with Katie - she was in a relationship with his brother at the time of his death. She’s also Olivia’s best friend.

One night Max finds Olivia visibly upset and crying. He takes her back to his place. She leans on him. He becomes her emotional support. This is such a sweet gesture from him even more so because Max isn’t asking for something in return. This is where their healing and story begins.

Olivia and Max’s romance is full of grief, guilt, loyalty and hard choices. They’ve lost everything to possibly losing everything again makes you want to fix it for them so that they can have a happily ever after. It’s so intense yet you can feel the love between them.

PLOT TWIST: Austin-Sheridan pregnancy. The timing of the pregnancy and its place in their story does not feel fake either.

After the loss of her father, Olivia Austin is struggling to hold her life and her family farm, together. Seeking comfort, she turns to Max Sheridan, her former childhood friend turned enemy of her best friend, knowing he’s the one person she shouldn’t rely on

As their rekindled connection deepens into something more, Olivia finds herself torn between guilt and growing feelings. But when an unexpected pregnancy changes everything, she’s forced to make an impossible choice. One that could cost her the people she loves most

Wow!!! What a finish to this series! This series has been such an ultimate comfort for me. It’s packed full of romance and connection, which I absolutely love. I truly think this was the perfect way to wrap everything up, and I am so happy for Olivia

I’ll admit, I was really curious how Elle was going to make this story work, especially with the history between the characters and Max. But she did such an amazing job. Getting more of Max’s background really helped me understand his actions. While they’re definitely inexcusable, it was still valuable to see why he acted the way he did in the past

I truly feel for Olivia. She was going through so much and carrying so much responsibility on her shoulders. I was really glad she found something that felt safe for her, an outlet away from everything else going on in her life. I’ve loved her character from the very beginning, and getting her POV and more depth to her story made me love her even more

Max was such a conflicting character. Based on what we knew about him earlier in the series, I wasn’t sure how he would fit into this story. But getting his perspective added so much to the overall plot, and I found his background really intriguing

I cannot recommend this series enough!

This is book five in the Wildflower Ridge series. It could be read as a standalone … but don’t.
I have reasons though.
A) the other couples stories, they help this make sense
B) Max’s redemption arc (epic)
C) Olivia and Max have been through A LOT, you needed to be a long for the ride.

Olivia is running the family farm after her father passed. Max is the ex best friend turned villain because of how he treated her people ( her sister from another mister especially), but this story is about finding that friendship again, and then more. Forbidden romance, mental health issues, surprise pregnancy, it’s all there. Plus I love that Olivia is the dominant one in the relationship.
Max did the work on his mental health and I love that. It’s shows in his character development.
This is a small town, cowboyish story (farms in New Zealand) with awesome side characters (that’s why you’ve got to read the other books).
Read the series, my people.

Max + Olivia

Wildflower Ridge... The Last Book in the series...

Oopsie Daisy follows the story of Max and Olivia but we have other support characters too! We get to see the whole brood. & we find out WHY Olivia, Katie and Max really fell out of touch. I enjoyed the story arc between these two characters as well as the closure that Katie got from Max.

I related to Olivia a lot. That eldest daughter complex. The one who does everything (or it seems like it) and we're last on the list.. until we find someone who makes sure we aren't last. Max allows Olivia to lean on him and opens up in ways he never has before. They both bring out the best in each other.

Oopsie Daisy was a great small town romance with elements of a surprise baby, found family conflict, & a happy ending worthy of a 5 star.

Thank you to the author for a copy of Oopsie Daisy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Absolute banger!! I thought my fave would always be Coming Up Roses Wildflower Ridge because I love a single dad story but I also loooove a redemption arc, and a surprise baby so Oopsie Daisy has bumped CUR off the top.

I was so curious if Max would get his second chance and I’m so glad Elle gave us that. Him and Olivia were great together. I loved that he was willing to only be her secret friend and just support her. I felt so bad for Olivia. Elle wrote her depression and burnout so well that I felt it in my soul.

The banter between all of the WR fam was spot on as always but Sadie stole the show for me. She always steals the show haha.

I can’t remember if this is the last in the Wildflower Ridge series but if is, I will be gutted to say goodbye. Elle Ashwell has created a fantastic world and I cannot wait to see what’s next for her!!

First of all, I’d love to say a massive thank you to Elle for allowing me the chance to be an ARC reader for her again, thank you!!
Honestly I have a feeling that anything Elle writes, I’ll love! If only Wildflower Ridge was real, I’d be there in a heartbeat!
But in all seriousness, Olivia and Max’s relationship truly is one for the books! The chemistry, love, yearning and ability to truly heal with someone was amazing! I loved how Olivia started to heal herself after loosing her dad, but not only did she find herself, she found love and hew own wee family, in the arms of Max Sheridan.
I’m seriously gutted it’s over! But I will always be able to pick up and of the Wildflower Ridge books and feel right at home, they always give me all the feels (tears, heartbreak, love and frustration) but always feel like I’m going home when I read them.

2nd chance love ❤️
This book is such a warm and fuzzy read, really is like the perfect palette cleanser the book u read when u want all the feels and a great HEA…
Max and Olivia made me love wildflower ranch even more.
I love a mmc that goes to therapy and sorts himself out.

Old miscommunication and resentment makes for some fantastic spicy scenes!

I don’t love a miscommunication trope but this isn’t that this was in the past and he is all about communication now and it just makes him so much hotter.

So give this book a read if u love

I just finished Oopsie Daisy, i have no more tissues left and i have a headache from crying at how PERFECT this book was.

When i said Buckleup Buttercup was my favorite book, i was wrong. Oopsie Daisy cut me to my CORE and cemented itself as my favorite Wildflower Ridge book. Looking at grief, burn out, overwhelm and finding hope and joy in the midst of it all had me SOBBING.

And then on top of that, this book being the finale? Elle, you've out done yourself. The story was perfect, the epilogue was perfect, the love story was everything.

i now need 10 business days to recover

Cracking read! So glad to see Max on a redemption arc... The banter between the Wildflower Ridge crew remains epic.

There was so much emotion in this book and it really pulled on the heartstrings. The choices between friendship and love, secrets and honesty were so well written.

The representation of small town New Zealand is so very strong and accurate! The sneaking off to another town moment had me giggling...

It feels a bit like the end of an era! Thanks for the ARC, all thoughts are my own.

This one broke me 😭

My heart ached so much while reading this, I am not okay

I think this is the most emotional one in Wildflower Ridge Series

In saying that, what an absolute wreck of a read! (IN A GREAT WAY!!)

This was one heck of a way to end a series and I have to say, I like the emotional damage 🤣

The heart swells and aches, the unexpected little twists, mental health rep that doesnt just gloss over it, we ride it well.... Oliva and Max are definitely a couple worth supporting !!

(make sure you read the triggers)

I look forward to seeing what Elle comes up with next!

This is the fifth book in the Wildflower Ridge series and Elle Ashwell did not disappoint! Max and Olivia should have always been together but tragedy torn them apart at a young age. This is Max’s’ chance at redemption. The story was beautifully written, in fact I think this is my favourite book in the series. I felt so many emotions reading this book, I loved the characters and I loved how real everyone was. Thank you to Elle for allowing me to be a part of her ARC team again. This is one author that never disappoints.

Emotional but sweet, Olivia and Max’s story involves forgiveness and young love that never truly ended. It was just a matter of time for Olivia and Max to hash things out over their falling out years ago. What Olivia didn’t expect to happen was forgiving him and even feeling safe enough around him to become friends. Things kind of jumped past friendship, and Olivia had to figure out how to handle with her friends and family who were wronged by Max in the past. Max never pushed Olivia and just let her be herself without any expectations. Loved their story and this series!!!

When a friendship ends badly when they were teenagers but he ends up being the one comforting her and giving her a safe space when she is struggling to keep things together. In secret especially from her best friend.

This was my first read by Elle Ashwell even though it was the last book in the series. I still really enjoyed it even starting with this book because I didn’t have any background information on the characters.

Rating: 5⭐️
Spice: 🌶️

Elle has crushed me in every. single. book in this series so far.

I truly took two days to process this book because i was so emotional.

That said, please read all trigger warnings before grabbing.

Olivia is literally so grief stricken that you can feel the tension in waves. Max was so far on the outside at first he felt like a stranger. The whole ex-friends to lovers aspect really came into play.

They hated each other. You could feel it.

Ugh. I just fully can’t comprehend how incredible this series is. Truly.

Another amazing read from Elle Ashwell. I thought this was a great way to wrap up the Wildflower Ridge series. As always, the characters are extremely lovable, and Max and Olivia were no exception. Olivia was a very strong character, and I liked how she was a bit more dominant (iykyk 😜). The spice was very hot, and my gosh, that surprise pregnancy surprised me, haha.

Thank you so much, Elle, for giving me an advanced copy of this

The final trip to Wildflower Ridge 🥺It was such a joy to finally read Olivia’s story, I’d been excited for it since the start of the series and Elle really did leave the best until last. I loved reading how Olivia and Max fell in love and how they went through obstacles together. I laughed and cried and was very sad to see the end of the series but glad to see everyone happy and in love.

Olivia and Max were best friends through their childhood as they became teenagers things changed and they became quite hostile towards each other. As adult pressures build and friendships bloom Max and Olivia’s feelings get harder to ignore.

Oopsie Daisy pulled me out of a deep reading slump and I raced through it as I have with each book in the series. This was my favourite book of the Wildflower Ridge series and it has been one of my favourite series in a long time. Beautiful setting, lovely found family and easy to read. Thank you for the ARC and for writing such a wonderful series, I can’t wait to see what you write next!

Lovely story. The MMC (Max) and FMC (Oli) have great chemistry, and the angst was believable and just the right amount. Their love story made it easy to root for them.

Arc review- this is the final installment in the Wildflower ridge series. There are a lot of amazing side characters, and how they fit makes more sense if you read the books in order.
Boy, I think this ended up being my favourite book from the series!

Tropes:
Best friends to enemies to lovers
Grief
Found family
Forbidden love
Miscommunication - but not as a 3rd act issue
Country vibes
Spice - 3 chilli pepper

Our FMC is Olivia Austin; she took over running Wildflower Ranch when her dad passed unexpectedly. Her grief is palpable. I found her character so relatable, and I adored her.

Our MMC is Max, her childhood best friend turned enemy. I loved the work Max had put into himself and the way he owned his mistakes.

This book made me laugh and cry. I adored both the main characters and loved their relationship. Check triggers as there are a couple.
