It's a story of Mukul, an Indian who is disenchanted with his station in life, but loves his family. It's also a story of Michael, a Canadian who is disenchanted with his family but happy he is rich. It's about a young guy Mukul who wants to make it big. He does so by reading a lot, and practicing the art of emotional intelligence. He becomes a natural aristocrat and even though he is an Indian boy, realizes the American Dream. On the other hand Michael is also motivated to make it big, but he is not close to his family. His father is very successful financially, but Michael does not see him as a role model. For Michael, success doesn't necessarily means financial health. Mukul seems to struggle for everything. For Michael, things come easily. But Michael does not have the easy life everyone supposes he has. It's not easy being Michael. People tend to see the superficial, but do not realize that Michael has depth. However, the story is not just about boys. There are also 2 main female characters. Karma is the female version of Michael. Their similar personalities and experiences demonstrate that human nature is universal. Mukul and Primaya are both addicted to reading, while Michael and Karma are obsessed with their own images. Mukul excitedly applies all his knowledge from books and emotional intelligence to his own life, and over the course of the book, he becomes successful after a necessary string of failures. He never gives up! But he wants a woman to share it all with. Primaya and Karma are both 17, like the boys, but Primaya is plain, while Karma is beautiful. So will it be the woman you think? This coming-of-age story is filled with humour and cultural comparisons, along with a careful study of human nature. It is first in a planned series.
