Rate this book
A duke disguised as a farmer and a vicar's daughter find love through deception, only to have it threatened by a woman from his past who could cost them everything. In the verdant Cotswolds of Regency England, William, a titled duke with a fortune at stake, establishes a marriage with Alexandra, his mail-order bride. Despite being strangers, he finds it preferable to the pursuit of any alliance with yet another fortune-hunting debutante.

The vicar's daughter, Miss Alexandra Benningham, answers his advertisement, unaware of his true station—oblivious to the duke posing as a farmer to test her character. Their arrangement holds the promise of genuine affection and shared faith until Lady Catherine Duncan arrives, claiming the duke’s family has established a contract for him to marry her, threatening both William's inheritance and his chance of forging a future with Alexandra.

Amid deception and threats that conspire to contest their unconventional marriage, will William lose everything he’s worked to build with Alexandra? Can she forgive him for hiding the truth about his identity? Will their newly found love be strong enough to prevail despite the storm?

Be swept away to a world of sweet romance, inspiration, and intrigue. Get your copy of this clean, faith-filled, Inspirational Regency Romance today!

A Duke that wants to find his bride, but isn't interested in all the ladies that have been brought before him, decides to try the mail order bride route. His search leads him to the daughter of a deceased vicar. William, the duke, doesn't want Alexandra, his mail order bride, to know he is a Duke right away. The story is easy to read and quite enjoyable. William goes through a lot of anguish trying to decide when to tell Alexandra his true story. Eventually, it's taken out of his hands. Inspiration and faith are woven throughout the book. I highly recommend it. I did receive a copy of the book from the author, but this review is my own opinion.

I enjoyed reading the story of William and Alexandra. William found it very hard to find a wife would wanted a marriage of love. Instead they wanted to the prestige and wealth of marrying a duke. William was at his wits end to find a wife to secure his families existance to honor the codicil of his father's will. Join William as he finds Alexandra. This is a wonderful love story for the ages.

This is my voluntary review of a copy I was given.

I really liked the characters. I thought William's idea to hide his identity until he knew his bride better was brilliant.

Alexandra was sweet, smart, and able to remain calm when distressed. Which comes in handy when Lady Catherine brings trouble.

I didn't get to read this story when it was first published so I don't know what was revised but I found this 2026 version charming.

A mail-order bride story set in Regency times! An enjoyable read with wonderful characters I truly adore. The romance develops gradually, building anticipation for the first kiss. Throughout, God's presence is woven into the characters' lives, adding a sense of joyful peace to William and Alexandra's story. An entertaining and excellent read!
