Avery returns to Harvest Hollow with a practical plan: sell the expensive Victorian house she inherited and solve her problems in one quick decision. As a newly unemployed single mom, she needs stability, not complications. Definitely not distractions. And especially not a charming bartender with a crooked smile and forearms that could make anyone forget their responsibilities for a night.

Stone lives life simply — short-term fun, no attachments, no expectations. Until the woman he shares one unforgettable night with disappears before morning… only to turn out to be the owner of his next construction job.

Suddenly the project isn’t just about repairing floors and walls.

What makes this story shine is the emotional push and pull between them. Avery has every reason to keep her guard up. She’s protecting her daughter and refuses to risk trusting someone who could walk away. Stone, on the other hand, surprises even himself — the man who avoided relationships starts wanting permanence. Not just with Avery, but with the life that comes with her, including the little girl who quickly works her way into his heart.

The small-town setting adds so much charm, especially the cozy bookstore and tight-knit community that quietly supports Avery as she figures out her next step. The romance grows naturally alongside the house renovation: both need patience, effort, and someone willing to stay when things get complicated.

Tropes you’ll love:

One-night-stand to forever

Single mom with protective walls

Reformed commitment-phobe hero

Contractor fixing more than a house

Small-town comfort vibes

Found-family sweetness

By the end, the story isn’t really about selling a house at all — it’s about discovering home isn’t a building you escape from, it’s the people willing to build a life with you.

⭐ Sweet, heartfelt, and cozy — a romance about second chances, steady love, and the courage to let someone stay.

All Avery wants is to do a fast turn around on the old Victorian House that she has been left. Well one book shop later and a phone call from a complete idiotic ex she finds herself in a bar. The man beside her Stone oh yes that is his sexy selfs name. Well let’s say one very very hot night together and Avery disappears before the sun is up.
Stone is one sexy man and one with a heart of gold, is in shock to find the woman he wanted to wake to is gone. More surprised when he goes to his next job as a contractor and finds out she is the owner.
Let me tell you these are one hot couple, but with Avery’s having done a number it is not going to be easy. With a gorgeous daughter to protect she is not letting any walls down. One thing is Stone is putting his one nightstands behind him and want the woman who pokes at him be his number one and falling for a daughter is not hard.
Loved these two, loved the book shop. Every town needs one.

Hot, spice, angst , trust, love and tomatoes. Perfect.

This writing is terrible. Was this bad AI??
Avery starts off wearing yoga pants at the bar and after Stone picks her up for their one night stand. She's in jeans. where the Fu*K did the jeans come from?
In the bar Stone was in a leather jacket but then ended up in a flannel. where did the jacket go?
I only got up to page 27 and I couldn't do it anymore after he had her pinned against the wall, her legs are wrapped around him and he all of a sudden drops to his knees but this is exactly what is written...
And then he drops to his knees.
His eyes burn into mine as he lowers himself slowly like a man descending into worship. Not rushed, not greedy. intentional. and when he drops to his knees. God help me. I nearly come again from that alone.
He kisses at my thigh through the denim, hand steady as he slides them under the waistband of my leggings.

I'm done. Not reading anymore.

Avery is a single mom who inherited her Aunts house and needs to sell it to keep her and her daughter afloat. Stone is a a guy who doesn't take anything seriously except when his one night stand takes off before he can say no more. When Stone turns up as the contractor to do work on her house, Avery's world turns upside down. This is a quick read, with a single mom and a cinnamon roll MMC and a little girl that is the star of the book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I liked how an one night stand turns to love for Avery and Stone. Avery resists but I like how a rotten move by her ex opens the door for Stone. I liked Stone's suggestion for what she can do for work and his proposal.

She is without a job when she inherits a Victorian home. Sounds simple, renovate it, sell it, and start over. Well that is all good until the contractor that shows up is the hunky one night stand that totally rocked her world the night before. This was another funk spicy, humor filled romance. Loved it. A fun read with a Hot Dads Book Club where they read smut, a single mum who doesn't want a relationship, a single guy who is the king of one night stands, and a house in need of some love. Avery and Stone find a way to move forward in this steamy read, but first he needs to work for it.

Love it

What i like about it is that he didn't know what to do with her at first cuz she was acting like him. Then he gave her time and space in his own way. But I loved how everything worked out in the end.

Stone is a notorious playboy who has never been in a relationship. The first time he's interested in more than a one-night stand, she sneaks out before he wakes up in the morning! Lucky for him, Avery turns out to be his new construction client. She's inherited a house from her aunt and is trying to flip it to get out of town as soon as possible to get back to her life in Chicago. Can he convince her to stay?

This is a short read with enough character and plot development for a simple instalove story.
