When Markus’s life gets turned upside down, he leaves everything behind to hide from the world. Hurting, lonely, and terrified, he’s determined to stay away from everyone. But when a stranger seeking shelter knocks on his door, Markus knows he can’t turn him away. Dominik quickly finds out Markus is a shifter and shows him an acceptance he didn’t think was possible. When they encounter other shifters in the woods, Markus truly understands he is not alone and his life changes again. Can Markus have a pack, a family, and Dominik?
Soft, cozy paranormal confronts Alpha werewolf pack dynamics! Will it continue to be cozy?
The answer is yes!!
We have a silver fox (no, he’s not an actual fox) love interest and a wood-working, gentle werewolf narrator just trying to get by during a winter storm.
The narrative is gentle and calming. All of Mel’s stories have this very intimate quality that tackles feelings of fear, trauma, sadness, anxiety, and depression with care and consideration.
This is a wonderful story to add to your reading list, and a quick, cozy read!
I found it a rather intriguing tale although I was a little unsure about it for a few pages, it pulls you in somewhat, well that's if you like immortals and werewolves. But as it got more involved I struggled with it somewhat and I have to admit I was rather relived when I finished it. It ended up a bit of a love/ hate thing and I was not sure what rating to give it.
Very cozy romance, perfect read if you love fluffiness and warm blankets. Dominik and Markus are sooo charming, and I really loved the setting in the snowy mountains.
Under the simplicity of the story, it beautifully explores issues of identity and community.
