Rocket: Phoenix MC Hampshire Chapter Book 3

Rate this book
A new Phoenix MC chapter rose from the ashes, but the fire burned so bright, and for so long, can peace last long enough for everyone to heal?

Rocket
I’m the laid back guy, taking the jokes, laughing them off, but inside? I take it to heart, because I know I’m more. I just hide it well. I pretend I’m okay, but I’m not. I haven’t been since my heart was torn out, and I had to leave. This club, this President, none of it’s a fit for me, but the alternative is leaving again.

Rescuing a tiny puppy puts me firmly in V’s life, and I kinda like it there. She’s vicious at times, chews me a new one every damn hour, and you know what? I like it. I want more. I want her. How do I convince her I’m worth more than a night or two? Nobody else believes it, so why should she?

V
The best way to make you hate all men? Marry a cheating, insensitive, soul destroyer. Once you’ve achieved that, everything else is just… well, hell. I came to town with nothing, having to start from scratch, and rebuild my life.

Rocket’s just my cousin’s friend, but somehow he sees me. He sees beneath the hurt, and the aggression, beneath the armour of acid and vitriol. He makes me laugh. He makes me feel safe. He just might be able to give me the baby I’ve always wanted. But do I want to tie myself to another man, or is it possible to just stay friends with this man I’m starting to fall for?

Book 3 in the new second Phoenix MC Series! A new chapter, a new President, and a whole mess of brand new problems to deal with. Can love grow in the same place where hate resided for so long?

Where to start ……. I started this book yesterday and proceeded to stay up all
night and read it, not once, but three times. It was an addiction as I tried my hardest to wring out every piece of emotion out of this magnificent read.

Mia Fury has once again out done herself, delivering THE BEST read so far, the highest of praise to say that she’s a phenomenal author to start with.

There’s so much I adored about this story. The cameo appearance of the infamous and delicious Sam and Seb Bennett with Cas. No one on this earth can say ‘bruv’ quite like the guys in the Bennett world!!

The appearance of Reacher, Has Been and the rest of the original guys, who turn up en masse when one of their own needs their support. I loved how they all continue to show how very special they are for seeing Micro as the person he is now, and not who he was. They truly have his back and their forgiveness is a rare and beautiful thing to witness.

You could clearly see in the previous books that Micro was struggling. He put a mask on for others but you could see the beginnings of his internal fight to relieve himself of the burden of his past behaviour. Although I didn’t like how Rocket brought it to the forefront, the seed had already been planted prior. I was so damn proud of Micro for facing his past, holding himself accountable to his men and accepting that this might be the end of the road between him and the club. It was beautiful to watch Grease and Rocket put their past aside momentarily and stand up for Micro, even more so when Reacher and the guys rode in to show their allegiance to the man Micro is now.

Rocket….. where do I start. This is man who has made this life’s work to perfect the mask and persona he wears for others, so they won’t look past the masquerade, to see the lonely, sad man, whose only wish is to belong, to have a found family that cares enough to have his back without question.

Knowing that he left the original chapter because of the way he was dragged into Micro’s mess, was heartbreaking. Even though the club only suspected his involvement for a short while, you can clearly see that this was seen as a rejection and fed into all Rocket’s insecurities, inflating them until he did the only thing he could, in his mind he had no choice but to leave and search again for the found family he craved.

Your heart just aches for the way people accepted the facade. Not that they were malicious, just accepted his hard shell persona, not recognising the gentle giant beneath who just wanted acceptance.

Enter Nix. Mia Fury brought Nix to full technicolour life. I honestly felt I could reach through the pages to cuddle the little sweety into my neck. Watching Rocket with Nix was a beautiful sight to behold. This giant of a man with a true heart of gold and a sweet little pup, rescued from abuse and abandonment. they are the perfect match. They each give their love and devotion unconditionally. Best friends from the instant they found each other, their bond firm and lasting.

But it was seeing the bond Rocket had with V that took my breath away. They were kindred spirits. He saw his pain and need reflecting in her eyes. Both of them needed healing. Rocket was the perfect person to complete V. Their instant bond and banter was a sight to see. It almost felt like they were two jigsaw pieces fitting perfectly together.

V is an absolutely perfect character, and not just because we share the same name. I love her bolshy, kickass attitude. Her independence a magnificent sight to see. She takes no prisoners, forthright with her words and has risen from the ashes of her past. How fitting that she bonds with a Phoenix MC gentle giant with the ability to converse on her level.

I love that she felt ‘seen’ by Rocket. She could see his pain as clearly as her own and seeing her need to be there for him, whether she understood why or not, was beautiful and heartfelt.
Is she a perfect person? No. But then again neither are any of the other characters. That’s what makes Mia Fury’s books so perfect and unforgettable. She lets us see her characters short comings and issues and makes us love them anyway.

Her characters have so much depth they take your breath away, and V is
no different. She might put on her don’t-mess-with-me mask, but she has such a beautiful heart. She remind me of the saying ‘her bark is worse than her bite’, because, well it is. She may be acerbic and short with someone but beneath all that she’s just a woman trying her best to rebuild her life, and like Rocket, she simply wants to belong.

I feel like I’ve waffled a lot in this review but I hope if you take anything away from it, it’s that it would be a mistake to miss out on this profound and additive story that it chock full of emotion it’ll knock you on your backside and leave you breathless.

The best book I’ve read this year!!!!!!! Absolutely phenomenal!!!!!

Mia has created such a fantastic world with these books.

I’ve really loved seeing how far these characters have come and how both chapters have grown.

Rocket’s story wasn’t what I expected and I felt for him learning what he was going through.

V was fierce. She wasn’t about to let a man dictate to her anymore.

Can Rocket and V find a way to work through all their trauma and find a happily ever after or will their pasts win, especially when they collide with the present.

I think Nixie was one of the stars of this book, such a cutie.

As always we get to see a few of our favourite past characters and I love that.

Mia always draws you in, her writing is truly fantastic.

Rocket and V

Rocket and V's story is on fire! He's the laid-back biker with a hidden heart of gold, and she's a sassy spitfire with walls a mile high. Their banter's hilarious, but beneath the surface, they're both fighting demons. Can they see past their past hurts and find love? This romance's got all the feels, plus a sweet pixie of a puppy named Nixie and a HEA.

This book, the third installment in the Phoenix MC Hampshire series, is absolutely amazing! While you'll need to read the previous books to fully grasp the characters, you certainly won't regret it. You'll find yourself falling in love with all the bikers featured throughout the series! This story revolves around Rocket and V, along with their adorable little fire dog, Nixie. What a cutie! Rocket is the laid-back, easy-going biker with a heart of gold, while V is a bit sassy, exuding attitude, yet she has built high walls that are challenging to break down. Their banter is delightful and thoroughly enjoyable, but beneath their playful exchanges lies a deeper struggle both are grappling with personal issues from their past. Together, they appear to be a great match for tackling their challenges and creating a fulfilling life together. I absolutely loved this book, as well as Mia's writing and all her biker novels so far! Keep up the fantastic work!

Mia Fury’s books never fail to satisfy the reading itch. When i want a guaranteed good book, I turn to hers on the TBR. Rocket is the 3rd book in the Phoenix MC series and here we have a little twist with the addition of a furbaby added into the mix. I have a huge soft spot for animals, so, of course, instantly I was melting.
Rocket is a cranky biker who desperately needs a boost of confidence. And when he finds a dog being discarded by some douche, his life changes forever.
V is carrying around a lot of baggage from a previous relationship, and she needs to figure out how to just let it go.
When these two interact, it’s like oil and water, but somehow, it works for them. She’s the yin to his yang. And they manage to fill each other’s emotional holes perfectly. (That’s what she said).
As always, looking forward to the next one in the series!
