This was Jasmin's debut novel and it was good, really good. She definitely knows how to write a mafia romance with really thought out character development. The story was intricate and detailed. Bella & Stephen were beautifully flawed and Jasmin embraced this and made the reader, despite the circumstances, fall in love with them separately and together. Great book! Definitely recommend, really glad I connected with Jasmin on Instgram. Thanks for the eArc, i'm hooked!
Oh, The Don’s Vegeance was quite the nail-biter. If you are the type of emotional reader who talks out loud to the books you read, you will definitely be doing that with this one. I can’t tell you how often I was shaking my head. Saying, ‘I can’t believe he just did that!’ And ‘no, no, no. Don’t do it! There was also some, ‘Yah. You should feel like a failure. I wasn’t cutting Stephen any breaks.
The spice hit early, intentionally, not for the smut factor. It was part of Stephen’s plan. But that spice was hot and written well. Stephen made a lot of mistakes. It was messy and hurtful. Now, I’m saying this straight up. I can see some readers getting upset with Stephen’s messy behavior while involved with Isabella, involving another woman. Some may argue that it is cheating, some may not. Either way—it didn’t bother me. It’s fiction and added more drama to the storyline, which I liked.
Thank you to Jasmin Song for the gifted e-copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Don’s Vengence MMC Stephen Hale aka Stefanos Petrakos 41 FMC Isabella Russo (daughter to Don Russo) 28 ❤️Tropes: one night stand, mafi@ adjacent, they’re both lawyers, revenge, no cond0ms 📍Setting: NYC 💁POV: duel, first person 🖤Darkness level: 1/5 🔥Spice starts at 21% 🌶️Spice 3/5 📚Plot 4/5 🌎World building 3/5 ⚠️Triggers: mention of vi0lence, brief murd3r, manipulation, slight ch3ating (🤨 at least he didn’t go through with it), betrayal
We start with a meet cute at a bar, fake names, and a reluctant a$$h0le. This was fun for a not so dark, angsty, sort of “one sided” enemies to lovers, mafia adjacent book. But the ending …. I was not a fan of. It was too “clean” and fluffy of a conclusion for a m@fia book. I expected more drama and suspense, but I think this would be good for someone who DOESN’T want that! ❤️
Isabella is the daughter of Don Rossi, and the heir to their organization. She has always been brought up to be perfect, the face of their legal side. She is a strong, confident, kick@ss lawyer.
Stefanos is a hidden heir of the Petrakos Greek m@fia. When he was 13, he hid in a closet with his mother, while someone k!lled his father and older brother. So afterwards, they’d went in hiding under false names in America awaiting when he could take revenge on those responsible and take his rightful place in the Greek m@fia. He wants to bring down the whole Russo family, and is using Isabella to do it.
Every time he’s an a$$ to her, he always immediately regrets it. So I think this would be a good book for someone who isn’t into the red flag type MMC’s.. because he does have a reasonable explanation for what he does, BUT I just thought the resolution was too easy for him. Isabella gives in (about 70%) WAY too easily, which didn’t sit right for me with her strong character. And her family was basically pushing her back into a relationship with him, which coming from someone who reads a TON of m@fia books, is not something that would probably happen. Additionally, I also thought the m@fia plot ending was not realistic. I couldn’t imagine actual g@ngster people coming to that easy of a resolution. Basically I felt the “m@fia” plot was unnecessary, because there was really was no real m@fia type suspense in it other than the background, so again - someone who doesn’t want a red flag m@fia suspense book might enjoy this one.
This book was one hell of a rollercoaster (the good kind of course) it thoroughly worked me emotionally! The romance was good, God knows I fell for Stefanos hard and fast too. The chemistry between Stefanos and Isabella was perfection.
Isabella, the enemy’s daughter. The principessa of the family that murdered Stefanos' family. So imagine the gut wrenching shock when that truth comes out right after their one-night stand as strangers. The revelation was devastating. With Stefanos driven by revenge the heartbreak and emotional damage hit hard. Both Izzy and Stefanos go through it, especially Izzy.
The turn of events... the best part for me was Marco running his damn mouth with full confidence😂. The comic relief from all the tension was needed... plus the idiots who bombed their own building..I was wheezing😂
After all the hurt, the tension and chaos the ending was worth it.

I love mafia books, dark romance, but even more so when they have a happy ending and the couple is worth it, even though they go through difficult times. I like to see them move forward, fight for more, and for their happiness. Isabella, a lawyer born into the mafia, is a strong, independent woman. I really liked this character because, as I said, she is a strong woman who doesn't let anyone push her around. She makes Stephen see his luck, and even though she suffered because of him, she kept going, didn't give up. Stephen is also a lawyer, and Don is a strong, powerful, cold, and calculating man with one goal in mind: revenge. His karma is to end up falling in love with the girl he wanted to take revenge on. They are very similar, which makes them perfect for each other. Seeing how he regrets his actions and wants to fight to get her back is worth it, especially since she doesn't make it easy for him. I loved this story; I don't want to give any more spoilers because honestly, it's worth it. Give it a chance. I was fascinated by both characters; they're both incredible. Even though you get angry and suffer, what story doesn't make you feel all of that?, so I absolutely fell in love with Stephen and Isabella's book. Jasmin, thank you for this opportunity to read your book; I loved it! It's in my top favorites list. 🫶🏻
I'm always hesitant to be one of the first to read and rate a book from a debut(ish) author because I try to be as honest as possible. Thankfully, I am happy to say that The Don's Vengeance was such a great read.
The pacing was fantastic. I personally thought that the tension built when you weigh the romance building with the eventual revenge fulfillment was nigh on perfect. I honestly had no idea what Stephen was going to choose: his family's revenge or the love for Isabella. It worked well knowing that some sort of revenge was going to happen and there was going to be a fall out. The couple had palpable feelings on page that felt authentic.
With this being a mafia romance, I do expect a level of dramatics that would seem over the top for most other contemporary romances, and this was about what I expected. That being said, it was really the ending that came across as being just a little too much. The dialogue read as similar to a scripted crime drama for the climactic scene. This isn't necessarily a complaint, just a note that it didn't fit as well with the rest of the book.
I do really love this. I'm excited to see where the author goes from here. Thank you to Jasmin Song for the ARC.
Review: I enjoyed this book. It was well written and the characters were easy to follow. I loved the twist of Isabella being the heir to her family. It’s something we don’t normally see in Mafia books and I loved it. Isabella is a lawyer and go getter. She wants change for her family and to build something good. What she feels like she lacks is being seen, heard, and truly supported. Stephen is more than meets the eye. He portrays himself one way but has this secret that no one knows about. Isabella and Stephen are on opposing sides for a project and can’t help the pull they feel towards one another. Stephen makes Isabella feel things she has never felt before. But will Stephen’s secret be his downfall and bring him to knees?

Quote: “It’s been nearly thirty years since I let myself feel anything real for anyone. Since I learned that caring about people gets them killed. Gets you killed. Gives someone else the power to destroy you.”
This story is beautifully written , I felt every single emotion while reading it. It’s intense from beginning to end. The FMC is a lawyer trying to build a clean life away from her mafia roots, but the past refuses to stay buried.
The tension between the FMC and MMC builds slowly and painfully. You can feel the attraction, but you can also sense the secrets standing between them. And when the truth finally comes out? It hurts.
The FMC truly carried this book for me. She’s strong, intelligent, and refuses to break even when betrayal hits her the hardest. The MMC is cold, calculated, and driven by revenge and that’s exactly what made him so interesting. Thank you @jasminsongauthor for the Arc. I really enjoyed it!

~Thank you for the opportunity to be an ARC reader~
As of the late, I have unintentionally read a lot of books that focus on the MMC being out to get revenge on the FMC’s father/family. So my rating may be biased because I’m learning I’m not obsessing over this plot line….
Obviously their is still so much more to this book and I do love and appreciate a ✨dual prospective✨
FMC ~Daddy’s girl + Mafia fathers Lawyer ~Dark haired, gorgeous, and intelligently demanding ~Overbearing family ~Believes in fixing people
10+ year Age gap one night stand Rivals who “won’t let it happen again” 🤭 Did feel insta-love. Scrutiny and pressure from family/ bosses on both sides to secure the offer
MMC ~Experienced 🤭 Business Man ~Traumatic past ~Lifelong Revenge Plan ~Doesn’t open up to people ~Refuses to commit to a relationship for +20 years
Don’s Vengeance by Jasmin Song is a revenge-driven enemies-to-lovers romance that focuses more on emotional tension than heavy mafia politics. While the mafia element is lighter than what I typically gravitate toward (I tend to read darker, more triggering romance), the relationship dynamics truly shine here.
The push and pull between the main characters carries the story — layered with resentment, chemistry, and slow-building vulnerability. The revenge thread keeps the stakes high without overpowering the romance.
For a debut novel, this is a strong and promising start. Jasmin Song shows clear talent in building tension and emotional depth, and I’m genuinely excited to see how her writing evolves in future releases. A solid 4-star read with a lot of potential ahead.
This was such an emotionally engaging read. Stephen’s pursuit of revenge against the Russos is the backbone of the story, but it’s his inner conflict—between Stephen Hale and Stefanos—that truly made me fall in love with this book.
The author beautifully captured the push and pull between darkness and vulnerability, allowing the romance to soften the edges of the story. I felt connected to the characters and invested in their emotional journey from start to finish.
I also loved Isabella's desire to represent her family while trying to find love.
A romantic, tension-filled mafia story with heart and depth.

If you like mafia romances, you'll love Isabell and Stefanos' story. Overflowing with danger, drama and suspense. Their chemistry is explosive. He's out for revenge and determined to bring her down because her father was responsible for his father's death. It ends on a happy note with her taking care of him after a shooting injury and both realizing that love was in the air. A happy ending and no cliffhanger. I read a free arc via the author and voluntarily chose to write a review.
I received this book as an arc from the author, and I was so excited for another mafia read to start my year and this one did not disappoint! without giving any spoilers away, I can say the tension building in this book was amazing. The hot and heavy start off, the angsty build, the broken trust, the plot twist, the mafia Don villain turned golden retriever was everything I needed! A good mix of plot and spice! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
@jasminsongauthor congrats on your debut! This is mafia, rivals to lovers, forced proximity, age gap, and packs a punch. With Stephen and Isabella there’s so much deciet, regret, and unraveling of family secrets it’s a roller coaster for sure.
To be honest I loved this book so much. Revenge that takes 30 years to execute. He is hiding who he really is and taking what information he can from her in order to bring her family down. We all know love blossoms and yes he takes her down. And then grovels and suffers appropriately. The ending chefs kiss.
This was a 5 star read! I loved all the plot twists and turns! Dark, intense, and thrilling! Just the right amount of spice! I love the emotions you feel from Stephen and Idabella! You get all the true grit!
This was a great book. This was the case where the plot and characters were more important than spice! Honestly the whole corporate espionage, revenge plot and characters that were great!
Honestly at some point i was more involved in the corporate espionage plot than the romance, because that one was nuts!
Overall, this was an awesome book, and I will be reading more of Jasmin Song!
