Just a heads up, this isn't a standalone story. You'll definitely want to start this series from the beginning since every installment ends with a cliffhanger.
Trust me, jumping in at any point will leave you confused, so it's best to experience the whole journey from the start!
This series kicks off with a bang! Each part is filled with action involving the three main characters—Legion, Savannah, and Mercy. However, in this latest installment, things have calmed down a little. Yet, it dives deep into Eleanor's fixation on Legion, revealing layers we didn't see before.
Legion wakes up alone in the hospital after a near-death experience... The big question is, did his woman leave him?
After what happened at the end of the last book, will the MC Brothers make him pick between his feelings for his sister and Savannah, and his loyalty to his club? Will he have to choose between love and loyalty?
In this installment Savannah really steps up more for Mercy
Meanwhile, Mercy is getting comfortable in Ashby's Mansion, and despite my initial dislike for Cash, I sense there's more to his story. Colt, on the other hand, just rubs me the wrong way, and I suspect he has ulterior motives regarding Destiny.
The cliffhanger at the end had me wanting to scream at the author for yet another twist And of course another cliffhanger!
➦I'm about to dive into Skulls and Lace, the fifth and final book in the series. I'm really hoping it wraps everything up nicely because some authors can leave you hanging, and I really don't want that to happen here. Fingers crossed for a satisfying conclusion!

I don't know how I feel about the ending of this book... There's one more book left in the series, and I don't know how Savannah and Legion's relationship will end and where it's going from here.
In this book, we get some answers about Legion's past with Eleanor and the MC. Although there's still a question mark about the relationship between Eleanor and Legion but I feel like we're left with questions that even Legion doesn't have an answer for, because the whole thing between them was fucked up...
I hope Legion and Savannah get the happy ending they deserve, J.A Huss please don't break my heart.

Dang It
4.5 Stars.
I loved it.
But I wasn't happy with Legion at the end. And a few areas in-between the middle to the end.
I understand him. But didn't like his decision.
These are really intense.
All have very steamy and often erotic sex scenes.
All have some type of action/suspense.
Onward to the next!

Gimme the next one
I had so many questions before. And now I have so many more. My brain is working overtime trying to figure out how can this story end. We were heading towards a happy ending and now it is really just smoke. I am heartbroken, confused and desperate. I need the last book so bad to get answers and to easy the grip on my heart.

smokin’ hot!
Another JA Huss read that will grab you and won’t let go. It collides two totally different worlds together. The passion and pain are entwined to a conclusion you don’t expect, at this point, anxious to see how this all turns out. Definitely read this series. It will stay with you for a while.

Baffling...
Did I misunderstand your EOB after the first installment? At the beginning of this, the 4th installment, I was 100% certain- as I sat on my hands to discourage the nail biting- that I was down to the last two and then it would be all over. Already trying to figure out what I could find to fill the hole in my chest these characters and their story were sure to leave. But now, though I dare not dream, I cannot fathom how you could wrap this story up in one more installment!? There were already so many different fronts that needed to faced, vague and barely skimmed-over secrets that need to be rooted out brought to light... and now, with how you ended #4?? How in the name of, are you going to do it in 130+ pages? This will be one long friggin weeeeeek- but I'll see ya then!

In this serial story we find out so many new things but we are also learning to navigate new issues. Legion gets a really bad infection in his brand. He is so sick he almost dies. Savannah must fight not only for Leigon but also for his sister Mercy. He brother has taken it upon himself to get custody of Mercy for his own reasons that are still not clear. He is kind to her and giving her everything but for what purpose we still do not know. Savannah is trying to keep Legion and Mercy safe at all costs. The emotions in this installment are perfection. Savannah is trying to find her way with the man she loves while also figuring out how to get out from her families thumb. Can she find common ground. Can she be everything that Legion needs? I guess you will have to read to find out.

Wow. This series was phenomenal, but I’m completely broken. The writing was so intelligent and the story multifaceted. Although the ending does leave things unfinished so I’m glad to see there is a second series coming. Each book was short so a fast read and the story moved quickly. My only negative is the FBI book club bit at the end. I just did t get it, (but that’s on me) and reading it kind of then spoiled the aftermath of the book. Will definitely be reading other works by JA Hausa though, her writing style is a breath of fresh air.

This was book that proved why I felt Legion chose wrong with this MC. Cash ironically wasn't so bad in this book. it should be genuinely cared for Mercy and has good intentions even though his initial plot was revenge against Legion. Also surprised how Legion eventually was on board with Mercy living a life with the Ashby's. We got some answers regarding Savannah's mom Eleanor and Legion but there is still a million dollar question if anything inappropriate ever happened between them because that was never answered even when Cash ask Legion. The ending is upsetting but not surprising.

On another note . . . I'm not hating Cash at this point. That man's going to learn that a nine year old girl is going to have him praying for Mercy. She's running circles around him. It's so well deserved.
Lastly, for those of you who love the steam it's here. Lots of it. And it's well written. Conveys a lot of thoughts and feelings between Savannah and Legion.

Smoke and Honey by JA Huss reveals more secrets that answer the lingering questions and dives deeper into Legion’s past. I loved getting more of his backstory, and the dynamic between him and Savannah remains intense, possessive, and utterly addictive. I can’t wait to dive into the final book in this series.
This book—and the entire series—is an absolute must-read. Each installment leaves you desperate to see what happens next.

Noooo....
....I need the next episode like now lol. This story drags you in and keeps you invested. I feel like I am there with Legion and Savannah every step! The story is so good and the spice is off the charts! I keep trying to see how all this is going to play out, but I know, no matter what I think up, Julie is going to take so far beyond! These serials are some of my favorite stories in a long while!

This weekly series is both engaging and heartwrenching. The characters have taken up residence in my heart and I am hanging until Friday and this weeks installment lands. To be honest I cannot see how Legion and Savannah's story can be wrapped up in one more book, that said, Julie is a brilliant and accomplished author so who knows what will happen.

Deeper and deeper in the isolation and loneliness we go. I can't put my finger on what is wrong in all the relationships but loneliness is the first word that comes to my mind when reading this fourth part. We dive deeper into Legend's head, and there's that feeling of floating, of needing to make decisions. But then again, choosing is renuncing... (No I am not crying... yet!)

This series keeps getting better. Legion did you really just do that. Loving this! This book smoothed out the characters just to rough things up a bit. And there are still so many family secrets I need answers too. I definitely recommend this series!

Another 5 star read. Loved the glimpses into the past, helped to answer so many questions about Eleanor. A look at what life could be for Legion and major decisions about where his loyalty will fall.

This picks up a bit after the last book. No spoilers but it’s intense. So much happens in such a short time and I’m not sure how I feel about that ending! Ahh. I’m ready to read the next and final book in this series to see how it all comes out. I can’t wait!

Low key, I would feel the same about being in the MC. 3 years for a life of drama? Nah.

This is the third book in the Book of Legion. You have to have read Dust and Flowers, and Grace and Blood, or you are going to be very lost. These novellas are made to be read in order. We are back with Legion and Savannah. He is in the hospital septic and close to dying. Savannah is left with no choice after her brother has had CPS take Mercy from Legion and has put him in the best place for him knowing that he will now live and is home at the Ashby Ranch with Mercy. He is disoriented and missing time when he wakes up and finds out the only way he can be released is to go home with Savannah to the ranch. His MC is basically saying get it together or your out because they are not happy about the sheriff being at their gate and now sniffing around. He has lost his brand to infection and is a little lost. He has no choices in this book. Off he goes to the ranch and tries his hardest to make the best of it. One sister is the mom of a Ashby daughter, the other is now living in the lap of luxury and is thriving. Getting riding lessons and has all the best that money can offer. For whatever reason, Cash, has a soft spot for Mercy. He can see a chance for her and is willing to give it to her. Savannah though has done all she can do and now has her man in her home, and she can finally see a future for them that just isn't stole moments at the Silo. This is where you learn how Legion became a member of the Dry Bones MC and why Savannah's mom was so fascinated I'll say, but maybe I should say obsessed with Legion.
