This was a hard book to review. I didn't really care too much for Kennedy. She had way too much baggage and was immature. Caleb was really the only reason I kept reading. Also, I wanted to know who was behind everything that happened. The good thing about this was that it had a happy ending.

Kennedy Westfield Slade is in deep trouble. Although this does not seem to be anything new. The guy who's had her heart for years is now living in the town she lives in Loveless (quite the name for a town!) After countless summers the two spent together, Caleb McCarthy is now living here permanently. No more summer kisses to be followed by 9 months of separation. Kennedy secretly hoped that their summer romance would develop into something more-right up until the time Caleb left for college and told her that it wouldn't be fair to have a long-distance relationship.
I believe the words "I'll be back for you" were said in lieu of goodbye.
She would always go back to Keith Stearns, her sleezeball boyfriend. She never put up much resistance to his suggestions that they take time off from each other in the summers, knowing Caleb would be staying for the summer. Four years later and her volatile relationship with Keith is finally over.
I'm not sure what happened in my life that made me think this vicious cycle was a good decision, but something about the thought of being on my own, alone, without the love of a man-which I craved more than air-it tormented me far more than the prospect of Keith's cheating ever did.
Keith and Kennedy have one sick relationship. Even though they finally have made their separation permanent, they play games of revenge and one up man ship on each other. His years of cheating on her won't go unpunished. Boxes of sex toys delivered to his little sisters, dirty magazine sent to his father, rumors of every sort about her spreading like wildfire; nothing is off limit in this war. But things have gone too far. Keith holds something horrible over Kennedy's head and maybe her latest stunt may have just pushed him over the edge.
"You are a bullshitter, Ken!" His stoned eyes bleed red as they bulge. His finger darts just shy of my chest. "You would do anything to anyone just to prove that nobody fucks with your ego. I'm going to end this shit-break you of your juvenile ways. Just watch me."
Kennedy tries to avoid Caleb. He is fresh meat for the town's hungry women and they seem to be all over him. She has so much deception going on right now that she can't handle anything with him right now, even if her heart screams that she is lying.
A beautiful brunette with a short dress (that might as well qualify as a T-shirt) and a pair of matching gladiator sandals (that absolutely need to find their way into my closet) whisks him into the crowd like a stowaway. Her arm slowly slips around his waist, and I frown at the tramp who openly made me lust after her shoes. God only know what part of her Caleb is lusting after.
But what she doesn't know is that one of the reasons that Caleb moved to Loveless, is to finally claim Kennedy. In spite of years of law school and becoming a successful lawyer, he has never been able to get over Kennedy. Other women have not budged her from his heart. He's aware that she is finally apart from Keith (although he wasn't going to let that stand in his way) and now's the time for them to finally try to work things out. Of course he is hiding his own secrets too. His father made his brother Abel a partner, and he hasn't gotten over that slight. His younger brother Solomon is on trial for murder and there is some mystery with that too.
When videos of Kennedy and Keith hit the internet-sexual recordings of just about every nasty little thing the two of them engaged in-Kennedy turns to Caleb to help her prove that Keith is behind them. She needs the videos, which are now viral, to be taken down, and Keith along with them. Caleb, as sickened as he is by the videos, wants Kennedy and will do whatever he can. But Kennedy has so many lies going on, and Caleb has so many secrets, how can the truth ever emerge and will it set them free or burn them to the ground?
"You no longer believe I'm the boldest liar in the universe?"
"I never thought that." He plunges in with another kiss. "I thought you were the boldest beauty in the universe. Still do."
Although Beautiful Elixir can be read as a stand alone, the characters from the first two books are just about everywhere in this story. So you may find yourself having a bit of trouble following if you haven't read them. Kennedy is a frustrating character at best. I still don't quite understand her motivation for her continued revenge on Keith. Yeah, he cheated on her constantly, but she is the fool that always took him back. Not out of love, but just because...I think she played too many people with her deceptions, especially Caleb. Now he has valid reasons for keeping his secrets. But in the end, Kennedy's pain and suffering redeemed her character and she deserved happiness.

TEAM CALEB ALL THE WAY.
Loved this book and it was a fantastic addition to what is proving to be an excellent series.
This time we get Kennedy (Ken) and Caleb's story. This one is a lot darker than the previous stories and filled with suspense and intrigue. It was difficult to read at first because Ken is filled with so much self-loathing and she's really in a dark, self-destructive place.It's not pleasant to be in her head.
Caleb and Ken had a few summer flings and both of them left a lasting impression on the other. Caleb always promised he would come back for her and now he has, and boy is he determined in his quest for the girl he's always loved. He was completely unwavering in his commitment to Ken, even though she pushed him away and was less than honest at times. He is there for her through thick and thin and he never lets her down. Swoon :)
By her own admission, Ken is prone to telling lies and the tensions and suspense are well-developed as the story progresses. I did figure out the identity of the villain of the piece, and a few other things, but it had enough twists and turns to keep me on my feet.
Caleb is hiding his own secret, but it wasn't as explosive as Ken's. It introduced an interesting family dynamic though.
Ken's sister Reese is in this book, along with Ace and all the other characters I've come to love. Reese actually grated on my nerves this time - she came across as fluffy and spineless and she was quite annoying. While I had minor irritations with her in the first book, I did warm to her character. Not so much in this book.
All in all, this was a fantastic read. Now I'm torn between Ace and Caleb - two amazing guys; great dilemma though!
I look forward to continuing this series when the next book is released.

Addison has done it yet again! She has a way of drawing you into her story and keeping you intrigued with what's gonna happen next.
Kennedy has a rocky relationship with her boyfriend, Kieth. He seems to want to take time off from the relationship at his will. She meets Caleb and he rocks her world. They start a slow but burning romance that is hush hush. Will that change? We will see.
Kennedy grew up learning to lie and hard to break that nasty habit. Caleb has to leave for school promising his return and she is heart broken. He returns and the plot only thickens with twist and turns that will blow you away.
Loveless seems to love to hold secrets because it's embedded everywhere. What secrets does Caleb hold? I think you'll find that his secret will blow your mind!
Addison book flows effortlessly when reading. She manages to capture the readers attention and describes things in a great detail it sucks you into an unknown world as though you are right their with the characters and are apart of them. Not a huge amount capture that for me so when they do, you begin to. I read every single book she has. She's that talented. She pulls you into the pages but manages to keep you breathless.

Caleb is one sexy beefcake I wouldn't mind sinking my teeth into, "I take a bite out of her lower lip, and find her achingly delicious. “I’m going to have my way with you, and then I’ll tell you." He has manners, he's sweet and sometimes has had timing, "I never thought that.” He plunges in with another kiss. “I thought you were the boldest beauty in the universe. Still do.” Caleb pierces into my mouth with his tongue, pressing the blooming hardness in his jeans over my stomach. “You’re right.” He readjusts himself. “We’d better get down there." I enjoyed this book I liked Kennedy sometimes she needed a good smack but her and Caleb are perfect for each other.

It was a very mysterious one. i loved caleb. absolutely heads over heels loved him <3 his love for kennedy was just so damn pure!! i LOVED IT.. and kennedy.. well im glad she changed from the lying :/
n the whole drama.. damn. cant believei t was her :O
and them mel.. I ALWAYS. ALWAYS knew it was her from the clues given.. the behavior. the ideas. the animosity, the change in facial expression or wanting to know more n stuff.. it was clear n it was interestin how it played out!!
i felt the author made it too obvious it was mel. or it was just me.. but i still really enjoyed this :)
cant wait for abel n zoey (the brat whose been pissing me off.. hope she's better in the next one ;) )

Wanted more
This book could have been so much more!!!! I loved the back story and the fact you knew ultimately they'd end up back together but this was rushed.
The book started out with him being a man whore and you couldn't really connect to much with that. They were almost immediately thrown together and she's all forgiving. I'm not sure if it was a maturity thing but as a female if I knew the guy I saved myself for all these years that broke my heart wanted in and he had obviously had a past after said heartbreaking I'd be mad as he'll... I'd make him work for it before I have him my v-card and heart again. I felt the author could have and should have went deeper with the development of the story and drawn out them getting together as they worked together. That said for what it was it was not bad.

Another story from Lake Loveless that has you rooting for love and a happily ever after. This storyline took twists and turns I didn't see coming and that kept the book interesting. Addison Moore is skilled at creating characters that are 'real' and relatable. I think I like each couple more than the last as the series progresses.

If you like heavy depressing dramas, then this is the book for you. It is well written. Just not my cup of tea. It kept getting more and more depressing. It finally, at the very end, had something good happen.

struggle
I’m not going to lie this book is definitely not my cup of tea. I almost didn’t finish but I managed to push through. If you like childish behavior with some romance this book is definitely for you.

Ending

Addison has a knack for writing stories that pull you in and don't let you go until your spit out breathless and in love with a new book boyfriend.
Her characters are well defined in everything she writes and Beautiful Elixir is no different. The storyline grabs you and holds on making you question what is going on and who is the liar and who is telling the truth. Beautiful Elixir was by far Addison best twist. She has you convinced of something that breaks your heart and then BAM she flips you in a whole other direction. Kennedy took some time to grow on me and at one point in time I felt I hated her but she redeemed herself and proved that people can change and in love sometimes you have to sacrifice even if it hurts. Caleb had my heart from the start. He is everything you could want in a book boyfriend. He's sexy, smart, funny, attentive and down right hot!
Beautiful Elixir is a definite must read.
Her characters are well defined in everything she writes and Beautiful Elixir is no different. The storyline grabs you and holds on making you question what is going on and who is the liar and who is telling the truth. I read it because I had bought it quite a while ago and I have a hard time not reading books that I bought but this series is not my cup of tea.

Beautiful Elixir was a fast paced, mysterious, intriguing read. This book will definitely keep you guessing as you continue to turn the pages. There's plenty of secrets and lies. Pranks are pulled and you're often left wondering is the main character, Kennedy responsible for all of this? Could she be this devious? As you come to another chapter, your mind swirls yet again with the questions and you're unsure if Kennedy is behind any of it. It's a constant roller coaster that will leave your mind spinning. I kept thinking I knew who was behind everything only to be thrown off once again.

This is definitely the most elaborate book so far. The details and descriptions that was put into Beautiful Elixir described to you every feeling whether it being hot/cold to in depth emotion. Kennedy is the most complex character that Addison has ever written about yet her story is heart breaking and beautiful at the same time. From a very young age her mother have influenced her by telling her that "white lies" are ok. Yet she lied so much not only to the people around her but to herself as well, that she can't tell what is the truth anymore. Her relationship that went sour left Kennedy in a very tough spot until Caleb shows up. Kennedy's one true love. The only man she vowed to not sleep with... well enough of the spoilers. Although it is a stand alone book. I would prefer if the entire series is read to truly understand Kennedy's personality from other main character's point of view. The character development and story line does definitely keep you captive. It truly is an amazing read. I recommend this book to anyone that loves a developing plot/story line.

I was gifted an ARC of Beautiful Elixir by the author herself for a honest review. This book could of also been called Breathless Elixir since it will leave you breathless..Addison Moore can bring forth such emotions with her characters it is absolutely amazing. Kennedy and Caleb's story will have you astounded by what all the secrets, lies, more lies to cover up the ones before, can do to the heart and soul. But there is also mystery and suspense, yet some of the best laugh at moments between them. Their banter between them is so full of sexuality that you can actually feel it yourself, or at least I could. It's sad at times but all things good will come to those who wait. If you are looking for a touching story of pain and heartache, then you have to go grab this today. I didn't give really any spoilers because there are some books you just need to read, I Loved It!!!!

I enjoyed the book, it was a crazy, wild and unnerving roller coaster of emotions dripping from every single page. However, I decided to rate it with three stars because even though I liked the pace, the characters and the storyline; for my point of view there was excessive drama on both sides of the story from the main characters. Kennedy was way too crazy and acting all weird, she was like the worst description of self destructive behavior, and Caleb was too much of a gentleman to put up with all that crap. So basically I wasn't expecting a sugar coated story with rainbows and unicorns, but there was a point where I almost leave it there and don't finish the book. I believe that from this series both books before this one, were way better and worth the time than this one. For the record at least it ends well.

This book included so many plot twists that made it hard to stop reading. The family mysteries of Caleb and Kenneth were slowly revealed. The two went through hell and back. Would the two get their happily ever ending by not giving up?

AMAZING!!!! Addison has done it again, this may be my favorite book in the series so far. Beautiful Elixir is Kennedy and Caleb's story. We get to know them a little bit in book 1 and 2 but finally we get to really get to know them in this book. Caleb is the hot lawyer in town and Kennedy is the girl who has stolen his heart. For years they had a secret thing for each other but age kept them apart. Finally Caleb is back to make Kennedy his but not without some drama. Kennedy is in the middle of a messy break up and just when she thinks things with her and her ex are behind her HUGE trouble follows. Every time I thought I had things figured out and knew what was going on I was thrown for a loop. Addison keeps the twists coming right up until the end. A must read book for sure!

Beautiful Elixir by Addison Moore does not disappoint. Just when you think you know where things are heading, you take a left turn and you’re hooked and can’t put your book down. You simply have to know what happens next. Is it ok to lie to those you claim to love? Can it ever be deemed necessary? Caleb’s love for Kennedy is unconditional, but can their love survive the past. And is Kennedy worthy of his love. Beautiful Elixir (Beautiful Oblivion Book 3) can be read as a stand-alone. And I highly recommend you pick up your copy today. I’m not one for spoilers so I won’t tell you more, but I will leave you with this. I have a new book boyfriend, he’s MINE and you can’t have him. I <3 Caleb!!!!!

I LOVE Addison Moore. She has a way with words, so eloquent and flowery; but full of depth and emotion. Beautiful Elixir is no different. It is well thought out, but I did have to backtrack a few times when she changes perspectives from Kennedy to Caleb. (Perhaps life getting in the way of books?)
I will say that of all Addison's leading ladies Kennedy is my least favorite. Caleb however, is everything you want a book boyfriend to be. Smart, sexy, and smoldering. I have an inkling that Addison was trying to let Chloe Bishop (of Celestra fame) get her happily ever after.

Brilliant
This is the third book by Addison Moore I've read now. I started with the first one in this series. I have never enjoyed any other novels the way I have enjoyed Addison Moore's! This story was captivating, enticing, entertaining, funny, and sexy as they come (pun intended). I will now go search Amazon for my next novel by her to indulge in. I won't stop until I have read every single one.
