👉This book is a story that begins in quiet survival and gradually unfolds into something far more emotionally layered. Nicolette is not introduced as someone searching for love, but as someone trying to rebuild herself after a past that left deep scars. That foundation shapes the entire narrative, giving her choices and reactions a sense of realism. Her guarded nature, her hesitation, and even her contradictions all feel grounded in lived experience rather than constructed drama.
👉Gideon’s presence marks the first real shift in her world. His intensity and focus create an immediate tension, as he sees something in Nicolette that she is not yet ready to acknowledge in herself. Their connection is not easy or effortless; it is marked by resistance, curiosity, and a slow unraveling of emotional walls. The push and pull between them keeps the early part of the story engaging, as it is clear that both characters are navigating unfamiliar emotional territory.
👉When Alex enters the picture, the tone subtly changes. His charm and confidence bring a different kind of energy, one that feels more open but still carries emotional depth. He adds balance to Gideon’s intensity, but he is not simply a lighter counterpart. His loyalty and underlying complexity make him an important part of the story’s emotional core. His interactions with Nicolette reveal different sides of her, allowing the reader to see her growth from multiple angles.
👉James introduces a quieter, more restrained dynamic that adds further complexity. His distance and controlled demeanor create a sense of tension that builds gradually rather than immediately. There is an uncertainty around him that keeps both Nicolette and the reader questioning his true intentions. This layered approach to relationships prevents the story from feeling predictable, as each connection carries its own emotional weight and influence on Nicolette’s journey.
👉Ultimately, Nicolette is less about romance in a traditional sense and more about the process of learning to trust, to feel, and to accept connection after trauma.
Nicolette’s story is one rooted in survival, but it quickly evolves into something far more complex and emotionally charged. The novel introduces a heroine shaped by trauma, someone determined to rebuild her life on her own terms.
The dynamic between Nicolette and Gideon is compelling from the start. His intensity and single-minded focus contrast nicely with her guarded nature, creating a push-and-pull that drives much of the early emotional tension.
The introduction of Alex shifts the tone in an interesting way. His charisma and outward confidence balance Gideon’s intensity, and his loyalty adds depth to what could have been a more superficial “love triangle” setup.
There’s a sense that his story runs deeper than what’s immediately visible, making his interactions with Nicolette some of the most charged moments in the narrative.
The story shines in its exploration of vulnerability and desire, with Nicolette’s journey from isolation to connection at its core. Her multiple relationships mirror her inner conflict as much as her changing world.
Nicolette only wanted one thing: to survive and leave her past behind. Love was never part of the plan—until Gideon saw her and refused to let her slip away.
Gideon’s intense devotion, Alex’s charming protectiveness, and James’s cold but electric tension create a complicated dynamic Nicolette never expected. What starts as survival slowly becomes something deeper, messier, and impossible to resist.
A steamy, emotional why-choose romance about healing, trust, and finding love when you least expect it. ❤️🔥
OMG I can’t pick which guy I like more. Possessive, protective and empowering! They are so great. FMC has some TRAUMA in her past, but it’s not going to define her. We have a broody billionaire, a playboy athlete and a sweet-as-can-be nerd who all fall hard and fast in this steamy story. Love this new author- we need more reviews so others find her!
I absolutely adored this story, it touched on some dark topics so definitely wasn’t the easiest of reads but the way each of the main characters fall for and dote on our fmc was so lovely. They handled the darker themes of this book so perfectly.
This book deals with some really intense themes with the FMC's backstory so it is definitely not for the feint hearted, that said I really liked the MMCs and the meet-cute that brought them together. All the MMC's brought something different to the table and gave our FMC what she needed to heal and learn that her past does not define her
