Some bunny’s coming to visit....

Joe loves Mari. Mari loves Joe. They’ve just forgotten how to love each other the right way. And after several painful years of trying for a baby, a rift has grown between them they’re not sure they can bridge.

So when they visit the beach house where they first met for Spring break vacation, neither Mari nor Joe know if this is a turning point for their marriage, or its swan song.

But everything changes when a stranger shows up in their living room and makes an offer they can’t refuse. His only stipulation?

One wild night—going at it like rabbits.

Thanks to Netgallery for providing me with an ARC for an honest review.

This short novel blends infertility, marital struggles, and erotic fantasy with an unexpected Easter twist.

Mari and Joe love each other, but their failed attempts to have a baby have created a painful distance between them. A trip to the beach where they first met is meant to save their relationship… until the Easter Bunny shows up with a proposal that’s as miraculous as it is provocative.

It’s a fast, intense read that’s perfect for getting out of a reading slump. It doesn’t dive too deeply into the medical drama since the focus is on the fantastical twist and the night that changes everything.

It was my first time reading an MMF dynamic, and it definitely made the story even more interesting. Perfect for the Easter season.

This was a short, slightly strange but interesting read.

At the beginning, we meet Joe and Mari — college sweethearts who’ve been together for over a decade. Through alternating chapters, we see glimpses of their past: how they met, how they used to be, how deeply in love they once were. But in the present timeline, something is clearly broken.

They’ve been struggling with infertility for years. Mari has tried everything — diets, treatments, endless hope followed by disappointment. And even though Joe is supportive and clearly wants a family with her, she carries the weight of it all on her shoulders. She believes she is the problem. That she is failing him. That she is somehow “not enough.”

That quiet distance between them is visible from the moment they arrive at their beach house. The tension. The silence. The emotional gap that infertility so often creates in marriages.

Then comes the absurd, almost surreal twist — a stranger dressed as the Easter Bunny who claims he can help them conceive… if they spend one night with him.

At first, it feels ridiculous. Almost satirical. And in a way, I think that’s intentional. The story subtly comments on how desperation can push people to believe in anything when they feel hopeless enough. When you’re drowning, even the most irrational promise can feel like a lifeline.

The majority of the novella focuses on that one night — it is explicit, experimental, and intentionally provocative. The erotic elements take center stage, especially considering the third character’s bisexuality and dynamic with both of them.

However, what I appreciated most weren’t the spicy scenes, but the underlying themes:
– the strain infertility puts on a marriage
– the way women internalize blame
– the quiet fear of not being able to give your partner the life you think they deserve

The ending leans into magical realism. They wake up alone, the distance between them gone. Later, Mari is pregnant. They don’t fully understand what happened, but they name the baby Easter.

It’s strange. A little absurd. Slightly satirical. But also strangely tender.

I did wish there was a bit more emotional aftermath and less focus on the extended explicit section — the epilogue could have been explored more deeply. Still, the writing flows beautifully. The transitions between past and present are smooth, natural, and never jarring.

Overall, it’s an unusual novella that blends erotica with serious themes in a way that feels oddly human.

I went into Hoppily Ever After thinking I knew exactly what I was signing up for—a quirky, spicy Easter novella with a slightly unhinged premise. What I didn’t expect was to feel this much.

Mari and Joe have been married for twenty years, and the weight of infertility and loss has quietly driven a wedge between them. The love is still there—so obvious it almost hurts—but they’ve lost their way with each other. Watching two people who clearly belong together struggle to reconnect felt heartbreakingly real.

The beach house setting, where they first fell in love, adds such a tender layer of nostalgia and possibility. When a mysterious Easter Bunny figure shows up with an outrageous proposal, the story leans into its playful, absurd side. Yes, it’s spicy. Yes, it’s bold and a little kooky . But underneath all of that is a deeply emotional story about rediscovering intimacy, vulnerability, and partnership.

The Bunny himself is intentionally awkward and funny, I loved him—but he’s not the point. The heart of this story is Mari and Joe finding their way back to each other after years of quiet pain.

I genuinely didn’t expect to tear up during what could easily be labeled a holiday magical romance. But here we are.

Funny, daring, unexpectedly tender, and full of heart—this one was a complete surprise in the best way. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thank you Lacey for the ARC .. these are my honest thoughts

I don't usually love the magic baby trope. It's my own fault for picking up this literal magic baby trope book. Because listen, Joe and Mari's marriage is in crisis because they're so focused on having a baby they've forgotten why they were together in the first place. Then over spring break the actual Easter Bunny (a hot guy in a bunny suit) appears in their beach cottage and offers them a deal: one night with him and they'll get a baby out of it.

I feel like Lacey Hawthorne has a real gift for humor, and she really plays up the bonkers ridiculousness of the setup in a lot of great ways: Joe and Mari don't, just, automatically assume that Easter is the actual Easter Bunny, and he has to give them some proof; Easter screws like a rabbit (without needing to recharge) so Joe and Mari have to resort to asking him to do sexy dances and stuff just for a breather.

Yes, this is MMF, but to be completely honest, I was more charmed by the humor than turned on by the spicy parts of the book - and I do love a good MMF once in a while! But at less than 150 pages I had a very good time, as long as I didn't think about it too hard.

This objective review is based on a complimentary copy of the novel.

Hey professor, I love a good holiday-themed romance. Give me some more lessons?

Joe and Mari have been together a long time and have also been dealing with infertility issues for a few years. Joe pleads with Mari to stop doing this to herself and their relationship. They're drifting apart because of a hardship that seems to be actively pulling them apart. They go to the family home he inherited, the one where they met, for their annual "spring break" trip to maybe rekindle, but things seem hopeless. That is until a basket and a stranger show up.

This was wild. We've got an MMF erotica that happens and lasts all night, in all sorts of positions. I don't want to give too much away, but there was fun banter, there was romance, there was reinvigorating the love!

Easter did kinda weird me out a little. But I did enjoy his scene with Joe. And snaps for the bisexual affirmation for Joe!! Love to see it!

This is just the best book. I mean, it's full on cheese ball. Erotica, that just makes you laugh. And smile and enjoy the naughtiness, and it has heartfelt romance and acute couple and a goofy guy to make up their MMF collab- Mari and Joe are trying to figure out what's going on with their marriage after trying to have a baby for so long and dealing with infertility and wondering if there's anything really left there or its too late for then - So they go on vacation to their beach house, but not just any beach house. The beach house where they met, and meet somebody new and have a little fun loved it loved it loved it. Went and downloaded stupid for colupid,by the same author I hope she writes a ton of these fun holiday. Novellas, this is such a perfect role of camp story.

This does contain threesome activities of the MMF variety- which I loved because theFFM gets to be a bore

Thank you, netgalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hoppily Ever After by Lacey Hawthorne was such a fun and emotional surprise. What starts as a spicy holiday novella quickly becomes a heartfelt story about a married couple trying to find their way back to each other after years of infertility and quiet heartbreak.

Joe and Mari’s pain feels real, and their return to the beach house where they first met sets the perfect backdrop for healing or heartbreak. When a mysterious stranger shows up with a bold offer, the story turns playful and daring, but it never loses its emotional core.

The spice is hot and fun, but what truly shines is the rediscovery of love, vulnerability, and connection. This was humorous, sexy, and unexpectedly tender. Absolutely five stars.

Thank you Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for this ARC, out March 14th.

Lacey Hawthorne is officially becoming one of my auto-read spicy authors — and this novella proves why. I loved Santa’s Baby, and Hoppily Ever After absolutely delivers the same addictive, steamy energy.

We’ve got a married couple navigating fertility struggles, emotional tension simmering under the surface… and then enter one very sexy Easter Bunny. Chaos? Yes. Chemistry? Also yes.

I don’t usually gravitate toward MMF romance, but this one felt surprisingly natural and well balanced. It’s spicy without trying too hard, emotional without becoming heavy, and leaves just enough to the imagination to keep things fun.

Short, hot, and perfect when you want a quick spicy escape that still has heart.

Thank you to NetGalley, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, and the author for a copy of this book.

This is a story about a couple rekindling their relationship, finding what they’ve lost over time while desperately trying to conceive a child, by spending one night together with a stranger. That stranger just happens to be the Easter Bunny.

They have been trying to a child for so long they’ve lost sight of the love in their relationship and Easter helps them find it again, while also ensuring an heir for himself in the process. There’s a lot of relationship talk but there is also fun banter between the 3, and some good spice thrown in.

What a fun novella! I think this qualifies as monster erotica because of the odd premise. Mari and Joe have been struggling to conceive and the struggle has broken their marriage wide open. This book is about a couple who find their way back to each other and just happen to have assistance from the Easter Bunny.

I really enjoyed this for what it was. The relationship between Joe and Mari felt real and the spice was spicing. The Easter Bunny was annoying and a bit creepy but I think that's the point. It's not about him at all. It's about the rekindling of love and romance between Mari and Joe.

Thanks Netgalley for the ARC!

Explicit. Cute and spicy little novella. I think if you've made it through infertility, or have a breeding kink with an easter bunny fetish, this'll be your dream book. I found it funny, the banter has some real highlights, and the ending was really heartwarming. It is a novella, and took me just over an hour to read, but the author still managed to make me care about the characters and gave them a background that felt believable. Perfect for some easter reading!

I thought I knew what I was going to hop into with this novella, Mari and Joe weren't the only ones pleasantly surprised! I knew I was getting a sexy MMF romp, a marriage on the rocks, mentions of miscarriage, a little touch of magic. What i wasn't expecting was crying for a couple who clearly loved each other but were having a difficult time finding their back to one another and a Love spanding 20 years. Thankfully they had the help of a silly little rabbit.

Read the trigger warnings! That’s so important in this book. But omg I mean I owned a rabbit and knew they can be a little energizer bunny like the commercial that’s keep going and going. This book was spicy and really felt bad for the couple at first but damn it gave me some ideas! lol such a great novella.

Thank you Lacey Hawthorne for allowing me to read this arc.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book. I've read some pretty wild erotica books and this one did not let me down. It starts off with Mari and Joe's failed fertility journey and losing each other. When they go on a getaway together and the Easter Bunny propositions them, how can they refuse? This book was filled with grief and love and lots of sex.

This is definitely a strange twist on the Easter bunny but also filled with twists from Joe and Mari. In the end though a truly beautiful twist on the Easter season and Hoe and Mari getting what they always wanted. The spice was definitely there and spicing lol.

This is a fun yet spicy quick read with some great MMF scenes but more importantly, I'm so happy the couple got an amazing ending.
Is this just a silly holiday novella? No, it also shines light on a couple struggling with fertility problems and it's done beautifully in my opinion.

This novella is not only full of spice, but also covers some emotional topics - there is a bit of backstory, and it was good to get to know the characters more than I had expected in such a short book.

Strange and crazy, but a fun read.
