I’ve really loved this series, but this one dragged for about the first third. What we have is Lexi and her three female friends heading off to Atlantic City for a bachelorette party. That’s it for the first third. We have them getting kicked out of the casino when it’s thought Lexi’s counting cards. We have them walking along the beach, eating various meals, shopping, and visiting a recreated historical village. Nothing, until they run into what seems like a very smart stray dog.

The remainder of the book, where they find out just how smart the dog is, becomes interesting, as well as the women’s investigation into things. There’s pretty much no Slash, no Elvis, none of the other guys, except with a few brief phone calls (and seriously, this all could have been solved more quickly if they’d involved them). Now I really liked the ending, and am eager to read the next in the series, but the first part could have been improved.

I also don’t know if it’s just sloppy editing, or simply the e-book, but there are numerous grammatical errors and missing words in the book, that had me re-reading rather mundane sentences. The following are just a few of the many examples, as I couldn’t be bothered to keep track of each one:

“There’s evidence that she may have been exposed to some kind EEG-monitoring activity.” (p.129). Should be “to some kind of EEG …”
“They way she curled up” (p. 152). Should be “The way she curled up …”
“I am pretty sure this was article … (p. 166). Should be “I am pretty sure this was the article …”

oh my what a story.

I always look forward to more Lexi, slash and the gang.
No bones about it was a fun girls trip turned rescue mission!!!
So much happened, so little time passed but there was a time crunch to save them all.

No joke, Lexi's little black cloud ALWAYS keeps things interesting. Even when she's trying to avoid it (and she pretty consistently tries to avoid it), it just zips in and does its thing. Which means there's generally a lot of chaos and Lexi's big brain sorting that chaos into manageable piles. YESSS!

This time around, Lexi is with her female friends on a bachelorette trip without her significant other and she's working on how to have fun. And socialize. But mostly she's working on the fun part. That said, Lexi's idea of fun is using her big brain to solve problems. So when a doggo with unusual intelligence chooses her as their person on one of their outings, Lexi does what she does best. Which means she starts putting together little bits of information so she can see the big picture.

Although she's a little leery of any animal choosing her, she's also not heartless and soon she and her friends are trying to figure out what to do with this sweet girl while on vacation. Let's just say it involves pretending to be pregnant, facing off against a man who is VERY determined to get that sweet doggo back, and maybe taking down a company that is doing more than a few unethical things.

Lexi's doing her thing, having her type of fun, and making the world a safer place one hack at a time.

As I was reading No Bones About it: A Lexi Carmichael Mystery Book 16 by Julie Moffett, I kept wanting to share it with someone! It is no surprise that I was so excited about it since this series is always among my favorites for each year. Lexi, herself, is amazed as how much she has changed/grown since Slash came into her life, and Gwen's bachelorette party shines a light on those changes. After Lexi is banned from the casino, they are books into, they find lots of surprisingly fun ways to spend their time. If you are a fan, you will know about Lexi's adverse relationship with animals, so it is no surprise that an unattended dog zeroes in on her with adoration. It is what follows that is unexpected. Any reader who does not fall in love with Golden Retriever is not an animal person. What happens next gives the women the chance to use all of their many talents as they discover that the beauty that they name Ginger is part of an experiment that could have national security implications.

A different Lexi Carmichael

If you're looking for a bunch of ridiculous situations Lexi finds herself in, you won't. This is my new favourite and I've read them all. It's an all girls weekend in Atlantic City. A Golden Retriever shows up and attaches itself to Lexi. It's a lot smarter than it should be and it's in trouble. Of course the friends try to help, over Lexi's objections. Because Lexi and animals don't mix well. There's plenty of action and humour. Definitely worth reading.

Another awesome adventure

I loved this book! I don’t know what to say that doesn’t involve spoilers. The girls ruled and had FUN doing it. There was plenty of intrigue and outsmarting the bad guys. There wasn’t really any save the world kind of drama in this one. Which was kind of nice for Lexi to have FUN, while also saving the day. You’ll understand the capital letters on FUN when you read it. LOL!! Great job Julie!

Excellent!

I loved the all girls weekend. A definitely different plot without Slash in the mix (except in a supporting role). I really enjoy Lexi’s friends and their significant other’s not to mention her family. It was nice catching up with Lexi and Slash I had almost forgotten Lexi and Slash, it had been a long while. I’m looking forward to a new episode in the “Angel and her gang” series.

I just cannot get enough of this fun mystery series---even after 16 books! Slash is having all the guys over for a poker and food weekend while Lexie and the girls go to Atlantic City. Lexie is ready for a night of cards and fun---but she and the girls get a dog along with an action-packed adventure.
A very enjoyable read that I'd recommend to others who want humor, character growth, and friendship in a mystery.

A bachelorette party

That continued to come with surprised. Julie Moffett and especially her Lexi Carmichael stories, are so fun with characters that are fully fleshed out. The only issue with this book is that there were a few editorial mistakes that yanked me out of the story. Not enough to make me stop reading, but enough to think that someone didn’t do their job well.

So Good!!!

I truly love this book. I love the entire series, so it wasn’t a surprise that I was quickly hooked into reading well into the wee hours of the morning. A new side of Lexi is emerging and I love it. No spoilers, but if you haven’t read any of the series you need to start at the beginning and enjoy the ride. Keep on writing, Julie!

Lexi is getting better and better

I really enjoyed this book. In the past books, it felt like (to me) that the main was too hard on herself. Constantly focusing in her opinion, her awkwardness. But now I think her character is growing. That's important in a book series. Showings growth and not being stuck doing the same antics over and over. We'll done!

Wow!

The one niggling issue I've had with this series has been Lexi not really liking animals. It didn't stop me from loving it, but it kind of bothered me. Now, with thi one.... well I don't want to spoil it, but wow, it was awesome. This one was hands down the best one in the series.

Wonderful!!!

A bachelorette party in Atlantic City turns into quite an exciting adventure for Lexi & her fiercely loyal friends. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, reading it in one sitting. I was so enthralled I just couldn’t put it down. Julie Moffett knocked it out of the park again. 20 Stars!!!!

Needs more Slash!

As usual, Julie Moffett has written a can’t-put-down, laugh out loud story starring Lexi & the girls. The ladies, Basia,Gwen, Gray& Lexi head to Atlantic City for Gwen’s bachelorette party and….. no spoilers from me. Read the book, you won’t regret it.

Fun and heartwarming!

Super intelligent as well as usually klutzy, Lexi is once again enmeshed in her expected predicaments, only this time with a gorgeous and equally intelligent canine — a Golden Retriever she names Ginger. Gwen is getting married so the girl gang, Lexi, Gwen, Basia (also very pregnant), and Gray all head to a casino in Atlantic City to have a “fun” long weekend. And of course chaos ensues! Such an enjoyable read!

No Bones About It

Love it! It has humor, it has suspense, and it clean. I am halfway through but the problem is I can’t what to see what happens but that means the book is finished. I think I have a new Lexi favorite.

Another great adventure

I have faithfully followed this series for years and hope it continues for many more. The characters are unique, the story lines are always intense, fast-paced and entertaining. The endings leave me smiling. My favorite kind of book.

Best Lexi Carmichael book!

Loved this book, Lexi got out of her comfort zone and most importantly saved many tortured animals and in the process adopted a darling dog! So many happy endings.

Doggone great story

Weekends with Lexi are a madhouse. Fast paced fun with both serious fun and actions that are hard to explain. More additions to the crazy but talented crew surrounding Lexi.

I loved this book!

No Bones About It provides exactly what I expect from a Lexi Carmichael book. Fun characters, an interesting story, and lot of humor. I particularly enjoyed the animal aspect of this one and the fact that it centered around Lexi and her gal pals.
