One dumped omega florist. Three heartbroken alphas. A wedding to get even.
Beth has spent six months pretending she's fine.
Fine that her alpha fiancé dumped her. Fine that she works as a wedding florist, curating happily-ever-afters for everyone but herself.
The silver lining? Town gossip is finally starting to die down and the pitying looks are fading.
But then, her ex walks into her best friend's engagement party with a new omega on his arm—and a ring on her finger.
Just like that, she's "poor Beth" all over again.
And it gets worse.
The new omega? She's the one who shattered the hearts of the groom's best men.
Mason, the grumpy contractor. Knox, the nerdy cinnamon-roll software developer. Arthur, the golden retriever bartender.
Humiliated and seething, Beth and the three alphas forge a revenge share an apartment, fake a pack, show up to every wedding-season event looking so happy it makes their exes sick.
Rules are set. Feelings are strictly off-limits.
But it turns out, living with this alpha pack has a way of stirring things to the surface... things Beth never thought were possible.
Can she make it through her best friend's wedding with her walls intact? Or are some rules meant to be broken?
A Pack for the Wedding is a cozy, steamy small-town Omegaverse romance with low angst and a guaranteed HEA. It contains knotting, heat, bondings, bites, and MFMM (no sword crossing).
This standalone is part of a series of interconnected stories that can be read in any order (with recurring cameos).
Do these MCs even like each other? I honestly can't tell. And there's zero explanation (absolutely nothing) of their feelings changing from being heartbroken about their exes dating each other, and suddenly being into dating/kissing the each other. Even as the story goes on, the only things we see are physical attraction and body betrayal and biology. In fact, they actively try to stay away from each other, and it's supposed to be to prevent heartache later, but the story still hasn't established that they even like each other beyond biology, and why. Even after a month of living together as roommates, they acted completely platonic and were still crying over their ex until they finally scented the FMC, and vice versa.
Not to mention that we get more conversations, information, and feelings from her extensive time spent on page with her best friends. Anytime she should have a conversation with one of the MMCs about something, she instead has a conversation with one of her BSFs. And often that conversation she tells the BSFs something that she should have told the MMCs on page. Whyyyyyyy???
And let's not skip over the part where she was over an hour away and stranded on the side of the road with a broken car (no working battery) and 2% phone battery, and her bsf and bsf's fiance were both more upset that she wouldn't make it to their wedding rehearsal and that the MMCs wouldn't make it either bc they were going to pick her up. What selfish people.
Character development is severely lacking. The nuances that make or break a relationship are not at all present. Inconsistencies in scenes, like the author forgot what had been written before. Not enough information to make us care about what's going on or even to let us feel a scene as it's taking place. Really wanted this one to be better than it was.
3.5 rounded up to four, bc I did end up enjoying these 4 a LOT.
But I spent the first half of this book REALLY feeling like I was supposed to know more about these characters than I did - particularly the friend group of omegas this series is presumably going to be built around. Obviously, a series has to start somewhere, but usually the first book will have some kind of basic explanation about the friend group, which I just didn't feel like this book did enough for me? I really feel like we should have started with Harper and Ben.
Also, and I say this having read and enjoyed Wolfe's first 3 books set in this universe, I really didn't feel like I was reading an omegaverse for a lot of this book. I kept forgetting whether or not Beth was an omega or Beta, there was so little talk of instinct other than from the alphas, and even that was sparse until after the scent match reveal.
Speaking of the alphas. I wish we'd gotten to see them actually thinking about their healing from losing Jessica the way we got to see it for Beth losing Grant? They just kinda immediately center around Beth well before the scent match becomes known, and Jessica is mentioned more in relation to Beth than anyone else as the book goes on.
OVERALL I enjoyed the 2nd half of this book so MUCH.

Dnf. The book says it's a standalone book in a shared world. But that's not true or it is bad writing because you are just thrown into this world and into this drama and I feel like I am missing so much. No one is fleshed out. And the romance? Is there any? Everyone is hung up on someone else and then they agree to be roommates. 1 month together and they act like they are forced to take one for mankind and put up with the other party. So I am to believe they will fall for each other while making everyone else think they are fake dating? They are not that talented. And what's the deal with the scent match thing? The book doesn't mention that they are not, so is this one of those worlds where you only sense them in heat and the reveal i've seen mentioned in reviews comes later? Are we suddenly going to have that thrown in? These people don't want each other and are not interested in getting over the cheaters and i dont have it in me to keep reading. I just dont care about the characters or their HEA. You have to want to change to change and they are happy in their misery and I am going to find characters that actually try to find their own happiness.
This is a quick read but it’s not one I would pick back up. I do appreciate that there was a note from the author about her omegaverse.
To start, I was very confused at the beginning of the relationships with the friends. I know a story has to start somewhere BUT this was the first book in the series, there should have been some introduction into who her friends are. I don’t feel that any of the MMCs were fleshed out. I also don’t feel that any of the MCs were actually over their previous relationships. It honestly felt like, for the guys, they just needed to scent Beth & the thought of Jessica just disappeared. For Beth though, it took her being over stressed & ‘snapping’ to get herself together & decide that she wanted her scent matches.
I also wouldn’t consider this a romcom. There was literally two things that made me giggle & it was the chicken & the wolf scenes. Nothing else was funny though.
Also, what is Beth’s last name cause it went from Taylor at the beginning to Carter towards the end & the very next page, back to Taylor.
Somebody issue with this book is that the characters aren’t really flushed out at all and we don’t get a lot of background on any of the side character It’s almost like this is the second book in the series and we’re supposed to know who everyone was already but it’s the first book so that doesn’t really work. The FMC is kind of a pushover and just goes with everything which I wasn’t really a fan of The men don’t really get over Jessica. They just kind of make the FMC the new Jessica. They all move in together and it’s a month later, but it doesn’t feel like they have a friendship by that time it’s kind of like the literal definition of a roommate that is mostly ignored
There’s not a lot of drama it’s very surface level and I didn’t really care about it I’m also not a fan of the miscommunication trope when it’s so easily fixable
Delightfully entertaining. Sometimes you read a book that is a stand-out from the crowd. Well, this is one of those. I cannot explain the pure enjoyment that I felt at reading this story. The characters felt like my best friends who I couldn’t be happier for when they get their HEA. I laughed at the antics, and felt the love they have for each other. We all need friends like these. At times I had no idea where the story was going (in a good way) and I found that refreshing. Highly, highly recommend if you like omegaverse stories with depth and a damn good plot to lose yourself in. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was cute little fake dating romance. I really did like Beth, Mason, Knox and Arthur as a pack. I loved how Bth was written. She was a woman who did anything for the partner in her life and even uprooted for her previous partner. I did like her journey to finding her omega and her place in the pack.
I did feel that the alphas journey to healing after the were left by Jessica was not as detailed as Beth's. They kind of popped into the story and when it came to their POV, it was mostly to pine for Beth and why they needed to keep distance. I think them realizing they are healing (although there was a scene of Knox and Beth at the secret lake where this is done perfectly) with Beth being around.
Overall, I really enjoyed this story and am excited for others in this world.
Beth, Mason, Knox, and Arthur have all been dumped recently. At their best friends’ engagement party, they discover their exes are together…and have been. They decide to help each other out by pretending to be dating, but it doesn’t take long to realize they have more than friendly feelings toward each other, and things get steamy. Some things come up with Beth’s business that threatens to throw a wrench in their new relationship. The guys are a little nervous about things at first after getting burned by their ex, but then they do what they can to make Beth feel safe and cared for. Loved it!!!
This was a fun and engaging romance that brings together a broken hearted gal and a broken hearted pack. Beth meets Arthur, Knox and Mason the same night that she sees her ex fiancé with his new omega and fiancée. Yikes! What compounds the drama is that this new omega is the guys' old flame... Every one in town pities all of them so they came up with the plan to fake date each other. It works a little too well, and soon enough, real feelings bloom ;) There is plenty of tension, drama, angst and emotions to make for challenging hurdles but I love that they got their fab and steamy HEA. Definitely a page turner for me and I'm looking forward to the next book :D
This was a fairly quick read, not a lot of drama. Some drama from exes but nothing too hefty. Some of the storylines seem like they could have been flushed out more and the major conflict could have been solved with a conversation. The FMC also seemed to just give in to others without any justification or explanation for her side of things. It was a cute book, not at all like a normal fake-dating trope though. The Scent matches didnt really seem to factor in for them, barely any nesting/heat, and the feelings for each other didnt really develop as the book went on. Overall, a cute story, worth the read, but likely not one I would re-read.
Good story but missing something (slight spoilers)
This is one where I kinda wanted the FMC to do a bit of grovelling. The MMCs are always in, but the FMC is constantly finding excuses to put distance between them. When she finally decides it’s them she wants she doesn’t have a heart to heart with them just uses some analogies to suggest she wants them. To me that distance is never really sorted as the MMCs are too invested they don’t truly voice their issues. As a result their relationship seems to be missing something for me. The story is good but the bond between them just didn’t resonate with me.
Beth's story sounded like an ideal romcom I'd love to watch with her new alphas being understanding, patient and slowly building that bond with her which was greatly paced. Nothing felt too rushed even though circumstances for Beth did make it feel fast paced for her. The plot kept me invested and didn't put it down for long once I started reading! Mason, Arthur and Knox were all likeable personality wise and each brought something unique to the pack. It was very low angst even with the exes appearing so makes a relaxed read. Can easily recommend this if wanting a cosy, easy read!
A bit different omegaverse with an omega with stress related scent loss. She had uprooted with her fiancé to a new town, bought a florist shop and then he dumps her. Of course her bestie whom she’s the maid of honor for her wedding is associated with said jerk. First gathering and in pops her ex as well as the 3 groomsmen who are a packs ex together and engaged. Of course they decide that she will move in instead of couch surfing at various places. The chemistry took a little bit. She was wish washy for a bit too.
Beth came to this town to begin a new life with Grant, who had uprooted them both. She started her floral store, taking out a loan and thye had an apartment which she had to give up because he left her and there ws no wedding. Now she is the Maid of Honor for her best friend. The groomsmen are the pack who's Omega left them for Grant. How will they all manage to heal? Will they be able to trust another? Love, hate, crying and pack.
I have so much fun reading this book and once you started reading it you did not want to put it down until it was finished. The chemistry between the 4 main characters was amazing and you rooted for them throughout the whole story. I can't wait for another book to come out in this series and look forward to reading more from this author. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Beth is attending her best friends bridal activities for the wedding when her ex-fiance shows up with his new fiance. Interestingly enough, the grooms 3 best men happen to be the ex's of the new fiance. Beth gets to know Mason, Arthur and Knox, as well as becomes their roommate. Follow their adventure to fall in love, with minimal angst and a bit of spice😁🔥🔥
I didn’t feel the chemistry between any of the characters. I found Beth super whiny and the guys seemed completely hung up on their ex even when they finally got together with Beth. There was nothing that stood out for me with any of them and I felt their personalities lacking.
It terms of the storyline I found there were a few times I was confused and it felt like I’d missed a whole conversation. A lot was missed out and it made me question how we got there.
This was such a sweet and cute story. I loved the fake dating with these four. Their revenge plan was awesome and I giggled through some of this. These for everything though. The way they connected. The banter. Even the steam. I really enjoyed this one. I found it to be pretty original and it totally engrossed me.
This was fun! I liked getting to know the characters. They have been through some trauma and decided to get through it the best way they knew how. It was very entertaining and I was so happy things worked out the way they did. It was a very rocky trip that had me entertained from beginning to end!
Flat story telling, takes to long for the character build up and really weird and disjointed issues one minute she’s talking to one of the alphas the next he just magically disappear and she’s running past him with her friend. There were multiple of these situations too so I DNF by about 25% in it’s just meh
I really enjoyed Eve's other books but this one had me full on laughing and giggling throughout the whole thing. If you are looking for something sweet and funny with awesome side characters, then I definitely recommend this book!
A Pack for the Wedding is a cozy OmegaVerse by Eve Wolfe. Beth is an Omega and florist, who moved to a new area with a partner, but was broken up with and is now living alone in a new place alone. She meets a pack that was recently broken up with and decide to help each other out. Cute story.
This one is mid-angst with the exes situation. I did like that there was no “is she the one?” By the guys when it came to Beth. Once they were in, they were all in. It was a very sweet and cozy omegaverse with a little bit of spice to liven it up.
I love all of Eve's Omegaverse books, so this one isn't any different! It's fun, it's hot, and the storyline is amazing!!! Beth and her men were the best! How they started off as fake partners; leading up to their HEA!! Eve is an incredible writer!
