4.5 ⭐️ Where's the next book because I think I might be addicted? This was incredibly fast paced and I found it hard to put it down! At its core, it explores truth v. power and the divide between social classes and status. Watching Arivelle and Rushland challenge what they've been taught and uncovering long buried secrets had me super eager to get answers. I grew so attached to these characters and enjoyed their development and their fire throughout the book! The romance rode a little behind the plot and didn't overpower it, which I appreciated. It made those sweeter and gentler moments feel genuine and made my heart swoon! I did wish that we had more development for some secondary characters. I think they had potential and would have added more to the world, the relationships and the rebellion within the main storyline. And then there's the ending. Those twists had me by the throatttt!! Whenever we get word on the rest of the series, let me know!

This YA book blew my mind. Once I got into it, it was truly hard to put down. From the world building all the way until the very last page, it was truly so interesting. I absolutely love the magical twist in the world. And the cliffhanger this left me on is truly blasphemy. I need to know when book 2 comes out ASAP. 😭😭

FW x How to Train Your Dragon vibes

A very fast paced YA that explores social class, academic settings, and dragon riding.

I loved the bond between the riders and their dragon’s. The bond between Ari and Myth was my favorite! Their quiet interactions added an emotional layer that I was looking for. It was such a sweet and gentle bond, but powerful. I have a soft spot for Myth!

I wasn’t completely blown away by the romance. However, the romance doesn’t overwhelm the plot, which I enjoyed. Maybe I’ll be a little more invested in the romance in the next book?

And that ending, I had no idea how it was going to play out. But I’m intrigued for what comes next.

I was excited to read this book because I’d heard great things and it still exceeded my expectations. It was so so so good. It’s like How To Train Your Dragon meets Harry Potter plus the trope. I can’t wait to read the sequel. I need it in my life.
