School Bus Graveyard, Volume 2: The second graphic novel from the hit WEBTOON spooky thriller! Perfect for Halloween

Rate this book
High school was hard enough before Ashlyn got cursed on a field trip. Now, in this fast-paced graphic novel, she must lead a rag-tag group of classmates to survive murderous phantoms.

"This YA horror is perfect for fans of Stranger Things or the Nightmare on Elm Street movies.”—School Library Journal

After the worst field trip ever, Ashlyn and her friends now spend nights fighting to escape an alternate world where they're hunted by murderous monsters. It's been a desparate fight, but they've managed to stay alive. Just barely. But how much longer can they keep this up? Until something goes horribly wrong? Ashlyn and the others need to unravel the mystery of the curse fast, but that may not be as easy as they hope. Because there's more to what's happening to them than a simple haunting...

This volume collects episodes 33-61 of the hit WEBTOON with over 250 million views, School Bus Graveyard. Featuring additional artwork from the author, this will be a must-have for fans!

Not bad. A webcomic about some teenagers who shuffle off to another dimension when they fall asleep. One that looks like our world but is populated by phantoms that try to kill them. It could have used some ore details on what is going on by this point. For a volume 2, we are still very much in the dark.

4.75 - This season was very interesting and spooky like I remember season 1 being. Now even more so with us knowing the phantoms were maybe once human too, and our baddies are possibly turning into phantoms??😀 Love the Aiden and Ashlyn moments as always <33 Didn’t love that the gang was split up for a lot of it (and even more so now) but I get why we had to go there for the story in the Asylum. I am interested to see where we’ll go next with the characters especially since they’re all split up now🥲 Like could we not have had Aiden and Ashlyn together at least 😭

(Up to date: finished season 2)

A compelling story is catapulted into the stratosphere with dark and horrific imagery. I had to put the book down several times, and almost threw it across the room at one point - the sign of an excellent story~

This feels like it was made for fans of Stranger Things. Instead of the Upside Down, they end up in an alternate dimension where shadow people are hunting them down. It feels similar and yet not in a lot of ways.

This is really fast paced and while we know the plot involving the main cast of high school kids, we don’t know how the parents fit in. There are a lot of secrets that are still unfolding as the time goes by. I don’t know whether to believe everything that happens or not. It could be unreliable in some way… I mean, they all haven’t slept properly in months.

It’s hard to stop reading once I’ve started. It feels like one thing was happening after another and the pages were just flying. I don’t know how I’m going to wait for the next volume. 😭

Thank you to InkPop for my gifted finished copy of the book.

Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

School Bus Graveyard: Volume 2 by Red is an incredible follow-up that raises the stakes while expanding the mystery surrounding Ashlyn and her friends. As the group continues to battle terrifying phantoms in the alternate world, new revelations about the curse and its connection to their lives kept me completely invested from beginning to end.

The artwork is once again a standout, perfectly capturing both the horror and the emotional weight of the story. I loved seeing the friendships deepen as the characters relied on one another to survive, and the blend of suspense, action, and heartfelt moments made every chapter difficult to put down. The tension never lets up, and each new twist only made me more eager to uncover the truth behind the nightmare.

Overall, this is a phenomenal continuation of the series. If you enjoy supernatural thrillers, eerie mysteries, found family, and fast-paced graphic novels with unforgettable artwork, School Bus Graveyard: Volume 2 is an absolute must-read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Children's Books for giving me the opportunity to read this manga for an honest review!

When I saw volume two was out I had to get my hands on it!

This was so dark and tragic and I loved every second of it.

Aiden is one of my favorite characters because... he is a mystery! I am happy we got to see Logan stand up to his bullies but also see him grow. I almost cried in some parts. This volume had my heart pounding and I was anxious along with them.

The illustrations are horrifyingly amazing, grotesque and just wow! I can't wait to see what this group deals with next in volume 3!

The horror, confusion, disorientation, and violence continue in this graphic novel in which a group of teens are barely holding on as they battle phantoms that they unleashed on a field trip. The stakes keep getting raised higher and higher, and it's starting to look as though they have more in common with those phantoms than they thought or perhaps they're becoming more like them. As they move back and forth in dimensions, one member of the crew is severely injured and then left behind. When it becomes clear that the adults in their lives are also seeing and feeling strange things, the teens reluctantly decide to trust them with what they've been experiencing. Parts of the story are quite jarring, but the plot and the pulsing artwork with its splashy reds and blacks and panels of various sizes that almost seem to move keep readers' interest. And oh, that scene with the tree branch! Readers will almost be able to feel that puncture.

Continuing the spook-fest of volume 1, we now get to experience another horror of teenagers, high school.

The mysteries are still lurking but now we get to see a bit of the school life of the group and further flesh out their relationships and life goals.

Aiden still is a mystery, the twins are still attached at the hip, and Ben is still good old quiet Ben, but Ash is slowly opening up and taking charge, while the teacher is giving odd vibes of both caring but also seems like he may know something more.

4/5 again because while the print is good, the webtoon has more ambiance.

Thank you for the eARC from Netgalley.

Thank you to the publisher via NetGalley for the early copy of this book!

The second volume of "School Bus Graveyard" is a great addition to the series. It's intriguing, anxiety-inducing, and mysterious. This volume gives us more lore about the alternate dimension the kids get transported into and raises more questions about how that dimension works. The art is, as always, incredible, and I love the additional art included at the end of the volume. I can't wait for volume three!

Thank you to Random House Children's Books and NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC of this book.

The story managed to ramp up quickly. I love our characters and how they are bonding and growing even in the middle of all this horror. I don't see how they're going to make it out of this nightmare.

Amazing, thrilling, heartwarming.
I have never read a main male love interest as unique as Aiden. He comes off as an adrenaline-fueled psycho at first, but you later see he has a protective, caring heart. All the characters have arcs, flaws, and complex interactions with each other. The lore is compelling and well-planned out, and the art style is incredible.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

Just as good as volume 1. I am hooked on this story! I love a good creepy monster and there are plenty in this graphic novel. Idk what it is about them but they creep me out. I’m very curious to find out more about the dream vs human worlds and what is happening!

So fucking good! This author's story telling and art are so beautiful! So much happened to these kids in only a couple of months, they're so traumatized. I can't wait for the next book to be out to know more about what's happening to them.
