Three very generous stars (I guess one for each book I finished)! 😒 Which is kind of a shame, since I really enjoyed the Blossom Peak series and had high hopes for this one. Thank God I only used one Audible credit for the box set, cuz I would've been livid otherwise! Here's a bit of feedback for each book:

Book 1- Somewhere You Belong

The story of Dallas (eldest brother of the Sheppard sibs) and Willow (out of town millionaire, who runs her own advertising agency). I DNF'd. This is a personal preference, but I HATE "Enemies to Lovers!" I dislike all the bickering, disguised as banter! Willow comes to their small town to find out about a property she inherited, they get off on the wrong foot and OF COURSE this is the property he's wanted to purchase all his life! She wants to sell the property, he approaches her abt her selling it to him and all of a sudden, she's dragging her feet, after LITERALLY saying she wanted to hurry to sell it to get back to her life in NY! If you want to sell it so badly, why does it matter who you sell it to? I didn't like her or him, so I couldn't care less if they got together.

Book 2- Someone You Deserve

Also DNF'd. The story of Penn (2nd eldest sib) and Astrid (Penn's best friend's widow and also his good friend). Astrid's husband, Brandon was killed in the line of duty and Penn had always been there for her and her 2 kids. I wanted to like this one, but it was just too much "we can't do this, because he was Brandon's best friend" or "what will people think?" Just all the drama of the dead spouse and the guilt of moving on. I was over it pretty fast, so I threw in the towel!

Book 3- Sometimes You Fall

I made myself finish, since I DNF'd the first 2 books. This story covers Grady (Astrid's older brother and good friend to the Sheppard sibs) and Scotland aka Scottie (divorced, single mom of a teenaged son, Chase). This actually had potential. It was the second chance romance of them being really close friends in high school, who were both focused on their career goals and lost touch shortly after graduation. They reconnect 15 or so years later, have a passionate night together and things kinda went downhill from there! They were the best of friends back in the day, so her constantly being afraid to pursue more with him, out of fear that he'd turn out like her deadbeat, douchey ex was BEYOND irritating! I didn't like Scottie much and I think the storyline of Grady connecting with her son, Chase could've been better explored, rather than just jumps of time of them now getting along.

Book 4- Someday You Learn

Parker (3rd eldest Sheppard sib) and Cashlynn (his boss's daughter). Yeah, I wanted to DNF the heck out of this one, because WTF?? It was just all over the place and super unbelievable! They meet on a flight, have a connection, sleep together and she slips out on him before he wakes up. About a year later, she shows up to the vet practice to check on her dad, tells the dad Parker is her fiancé (shocking the heck out of Parker, cuz he hasn't seen her in a whole year), moves into Parker's house and they're fake engaged, while she gets her life in order to come clean to get dad! WHAT am I even listening to?? I didn't like one thing about this story!! I take that back, I kinda liked Parker....like a tiny bit!

Book 5- Somehow You Knew

Hazel (youngest and only girl of the Sheppard sibs) and Gage (nephew of her recently diseased friend, Diane). First, can I just say I think I died a little each time they said the name Hazel?! Cuz ugh, who wants to read a book with the heroine named Hazel? Might as well be Mildred or Barbara or something! Sheesh! 🙄 In any case, another dud! I don't even have the energy to recap this story, but I'll leave you with this jewel and you'll understand where I'm coming from- their nicknames for each other were Spitfire and Dickhead. I can't....

I loved this series. It was easy to get immersed in the storylines. It was not just cookie cutter stories.
