Bad-boy Tyler is back in town after two tours in the military when his life intersects unexpectedly with good-girl Jessica.
Rita Osbourne has been looking forward to the day that her son, Tyler, would return to Covington, GA, after so many years serving in the military. But soon after he moves into the Lake House, it becomes apparent that he's struggling to find his feet. When he takes to moonshining to make ends meet, she's worried he'll never establish a life for himself the way she'd hoped he would.
Jessica Fleet recently graduated from teacher's college and has had to move away from her hometown to start a new job. She's always done the right thing, is sensible, responsible, resourceful... and yet there was nothing she could do to land the job of her dreams, or to stay close to her loving and tight-knit family & friends. The house she rents, backs onto a peach grove, and she seeks solace through canning & jamming, alongside nosy & very friendly neighbor, Teja, who soon becomes her closest friend.
Tyler is the last person on earth Jessica would ever fall for. And after the disaster she left behind in Oklahoma, she isn't looking for romance. But there's something about Tyler that she can't seem to shake.
Will Tyler's charms over ride her fears? Or will the secret he's hiding, derail them before they even have a chance?

What a fun book! It was good to catch up with all the characters in the series. The gals are all tense with a new job, tired feelings about work and feet hurt serving people all day. Then, there is Tyler. I had to love him as he tries to find himself now that the military is in the past. He even surprised his sister with his attempts with new challenges. It made me laugh when she found moonshine in her closet. Thanks for the smiles and good feelings written into this story. Loved it!
Although it can be read as a standalone, if you've read the first two books and have met some of the characters, it will give you greater insights into their share of the story. We are being introduced to various friends and family members and getting to know and love the generations. I think I'd call this a cozy romance!
Two very different characters who aren't looking for love. Tyler just left the military and has a good reason to come home and newcomer Jessica who can't stay at home. Can they still find each other and to a happy future? You can read this as a standalone but it's part 3 of the Southern Charm series so by reading them all was more fun for me. I really enjoy reading this series.
I have loved this series. It was fun to catch up. Tyler is newly discharged from the service and is looking for a new career path. His mom, Rita, is thrilled to have him home but is worried about him.Jessica has recently moved to town and is about to start a new job, teaching. She has left a bad situation and is looking forward to starting over.
Another wonderful read! Once again Lilly Mirren brings our beloved characters to life continuing their stories. Well written and so engaging that I could not put the book down. I cannot wait to start the next book in the series. A must read for everyone.
