Well, we follow the usual tropes of this kind of romance. Yoi and Kohaku slowly, very slowly, go about their business, get to know each other, and lead us to the "Will they do it?" sequence. Unfortunately, it's very banal. They're beautiful, they're cute, but they don't break out of the classic mould, which is a shame.
The subplot takes us down another set of familiar paths with the secondary characters Tone and Shun.
At this point, despite the cliffhanger that rings false, I should stop because I'm convinced that the story will only evolve marginally. It's Yamamori's beautiful artwork that keeps me going.

I enjoy this series but I’m slightly disappointed in this volume!!!!
I get so annoyed by shoujo mangakas baiting the relationship going to the next level and then not following through! Why shy away from sex? Why not just let it happen and then you would see that life still carries on? lol. Shoujo stories always make it seem like sex is the end all, be all to a romance story. However, I do understand that Japan isn’t like America, and the Japanese are more conservative in that manner (it still upsets me though lol)!!!

And the other part that disappointed me was Kuwa and Nobara!!!!!! Seeing her cry made me so sad!!!!!! I’m really hoping that maybe Kuwa’s feelings will grow later? But then the mangaka’s author note in this volume said that this series is nearing the end!!!? Is there enough time? To be honest, I’m more excited for this possible side couple than the main one!!!! haha!

Après un an d’attente, quel bonheur de retrouver ces personnages que j’aime tant dans ce tome 9, en plus dans une superbe édition collector.
Même si j’étais un peu perdue au début, on se replonge très vite dans l’histoire grâce à un récit toujours aussi fluide et prenant.

C’est clairement l’un de mes mangas doudou : tendre, réconfortant et magnifique. Les planches sont sublimes, chaque tome est une vraie claque visuelle.
J’adore tous les personnages, leurs histoires de cœur mais aussi leurs amitiés.

Yoi est ma chouchoute, son évolution est incroyable, et Ichimura fait définitivement partie de mes manga boyfriends préférés.
La relation entre eux est douce, mignonne et pleine de papillons 🥹💗

this volume made me feel old. I don't get hinting at bed sport when they don't even make out! Also, if/when they do finally, I feel like it will be really romantic. I don't like the ML in this book. The end of this volume is re-enforcing the "ick" I get about him. Yoi, I like her and I like her friend Nobara. She is so brave! It's so hard admitting your feelings and I do like that she was brave enough to do so.

The art is very pretty.

Mamma mia che bel volume! Sto amando come la Yamamori stia sviluppando la storia, ogni volta che leggo questo manga non riesco a smettere e sbatto i piedi dall’emozione 🫣🥹

Comunque partiamo per punti o meglio per coppie:

1) Yoi e Kohaku 👑🐈🧁
Ma quanto li amo?!!?!? Io non ce la posso fare con questi due! Amo come in questo volume siano diventati più fisici e anche diretti per quanto riguarda le conversazioni. Mi è piaciuto che nessuno dei due, soprattutto Yoi, abbiano omesso di dire qualcosa che pensavano, in particolare per quanto riguarda la famiglia di Kohaku (anche se praticamente sappiamo solo la punta dell’iceberg per il momento).
Mi sono sciolta vedendo come è cresciuta la loro complicità…peccato per il finale che purtroppo mi aspettavo. Temo il peggio adesso e non so davvero cosa possa succedere!!

2) Tone e Shun 👓📚🥋
Allora per quanto riguarda la seconda coppia beh che dire, mi sono piaciuti fin da subito. Essendoci due trii immaginavo ci potesse essere una seconda coppia, ma mai mi sarei aspettata loro due!
Sinceramente, secondo me, il tutto è successo un po’ troppo in fretta, cioè lei che realizza i suoi sentimenti e la dichiarazione. Mi aspettavo che il tutto avvenisse con più calma però appunto il rifiuto di lui effettivamente fa intendere che dovremmo aspettare ancora un po’ prima di poter vedere “salpare” questa ship. Staremo a vedere, non vedo l’ora!

3) Oji e Hibiya 🤴🏻🎀 ???
Non so se mi sono fatta i film ma…perché no? Secondo me loro due sarebbero carinissimi. Staremo a vedere anche qui 👀

I loved this one so much.

Sometimes I worry that I just get in a negative mood while reading, or that I get tired of characters too easily with a series that runs for too long: that happens a fair amount with shoujo. I'm into it at first and then the characters start to feel like they're stagnating or making stupid decisions, and I get irritated and start to sour on the entire story.

But reading this a couple days after I had that experience with another shoujo series I'd initially thought was going to be a favorite...it really shows what a difference strong, character-driven storytelling makes. This series could be starting to trail off at this point, but for me this was the best volume yet.

Still no answers on Kohaku's weird family situation and his mysterious brother, although I think there were some pretty strong hints that might be happening finally in the next volume. But he and Yoi are going so strong, in such a wonderful way. He's done a lot to try to be a good boyfriend: he's gotten gentler and more patient, really pushing his own selfishness to the side to make Yoi happy and comfortable, while also being clear and honest about his own feelings and needs.

And Yoi? Well-written female leads are the absolute core of a good shoujo story. She's wonderful and has grown so much. The key word here is growth, because that's one of the main things that makes me drop a series: when characters stagnate or get wishy-washy and whiny and can never seem to make up their minds on what they want out of life or relationships.

Yoi doesn't know all of that still! She's young and inexperienced and has a lot of worries about dating the hottest guy in school, who has worlds of knowledge about things she's encountering for the first time. But she talks to him about it and thinks through it on her own, and progresses at a pace that she's comfortable with.

I loved seeing her learn about how relationships are a two-way street, where she has to be clear with her own boundaries but also attentive to her partner. Kohaku is - in the right kind of relationship, where he actually cares about the other person - very affectionate and in need of a lot of attention, and Yoi has gotten more and more comfortable with showing her boyfriend that she loves him and wants to be around him just as much.

The decision to stay the night at his place (and recruit a friend to lie to her parents about it) was so shocking in some ways but also weirdly in line with who Yoi is. She thinks about things deeply, acts independently, and moves quickly once she's made up her mind. Not that they ended up going very far - due to an unfortunate overwhelmed nosebleed, Kohaku still being very cautious with her, and Yoi having some limits on what she can handle just yet. But it was such an incredibly loving scene with so much chemistry.

They like each other in a way I love seeing. That Christmas date - much smaller and more private than Yoi had planned - was wonderful. And her trying so hard to show Kohaku how much he can rely on her when he has difficulties, like school or his family, was wonderful too. It's exactly what he needs. They're doing so much to support each other.

And then we got a lot more of the side couple than I was frankly expecting. It was beautiful, even though it was devastating. With this author, I think it might stay like this...there's still some potential that things could swing back around, but the author's note made it sound like the story was drawing to a close, so it may stay like this. An honest portrayal of what youthful romance is like: sometimes (rarely) it works out in an epic love story. Often it ends in heartbreak, because it is so hard to get two hearts to truly align.

But I was so, so proud of Tone. She did her best: she was anxious and insecure but she did everything she could to spend time with her crush and even confess to him. While it didn't work out, it was probably the nicest rejection someone could ever get, because Kuwa is pretty much the world's nicest guy. Which is why Tone had fallen for him in the first place.

It makes me tear up again just thinking about it - a sign of how good the storytelling was.

What a beautiful, thoughtful volume that shows a whole range of relationships. I loved, too, how Yoi instantly dropped her planned date with her boyfriend to be there for her heartbroken friend. He's incredibly important to her, but friendship is too, and she knows when and how to balance things.

Very much looking forward to how the story continues/concludes. I wonder how many volumes it will be in total.

Je crois que ce n'est jamais un très bon signe quand je commence à m'intéresser plus aux personnages et couples secondaires qu'au principal... Et c'est ce qui se produit ici ^^! 

Passé leur rencontre, mes aspirations déçues, ma résignation, mon acception, je trouve la romance sympathique à suivre mais pas transcendante non plus. Le fait, ici, de passer un tome entier juste sur une soirée de Noël n'aide pas vraiment, surtout avec des personnages aussi gentils, mais version gentillets un peu fades, de plus en plus. Résultat, je me suis un peu ennuyée à leurs côtés. C'était mignon mais sans plus. J'imagine que ma déception de la non exploitation du caractère androgyne de Yoi, qui se coule trop dans le moule de la petite amie parfaite à la sauce japonaise, joue. J'avais espérer plus de contre-pied, plus d'originalité. 

Du coup, même si on a eu des scènes volontairement mignonnes où on s'amuse de la voir oublier son petit ami tandis qu'elle travaille, puis où on craque quand on les voit passer une nuit côte à côté en tout bien tout honneur parce que Yoi n'est pas prête à aller plus loin et que son corps le lui rappelle magistralement, ou encore qu'on voit un Ichi tellement relax qu'il est attendrissant, c'est un peu trop simple pour moi. On me dira aussi que l'autrice ne s'est pas plus foulée avec la copine de Yoi qui s'intéresse au copain d'Ichi, et pourtant, cela a fonctionné pour moi. Pourquoi ? Parce que j'aime quand il y a encore la tension de la recherche à amoureuse, la peur du lendemain, les petites attentions méprises, etc. Et ici, j'ai trouvé attendrissant de voir Tone, l'effacée, essayer de retenir l'attention de Kawabatake alors que celui-ci est vraiment perché sur le sujet. Je trouve que leur duo fonctionne bien et il y avait une fraîcheur toute adolescente dans le récit de leurs moments dans ce tome. 

Ton visage au clair de lune devient peu à peu une série que je suis par habitude, plus qu'une série que je trépigne de lire, la faute à une romance trop simple qui ne sait pas exploiter ses atouts et passe un peu à côté de son sujet. Heureusement, l'autrice n'oublie pas ses personnages secondaires et ceux-ci me réservent des surprises plus délicieuses que leurs aînés. Mais jusqu'à quand l'autrice va réussir ce numéro d'équilibriste ?

"Quando ti succede qualcosa di brutto o doloroso, vorrei proteggerti come quella sciarpa. Per questo voglio che mi mostri tutto di te, sia i tuoi lati peggiori e le tue debolezze, che quelli migliori e anche i tuoi complessi. Io sarò al tuo fianco qualunque cosa accada, senpai."

È passato un sacco di tempo dall'uscita del volume precedente e quindi ho dovuto fare un pochino di ripasso perché mi stavo perdendo dei pezzi.
Le feste di natale (anche se siamo un tantino fuori stagione, ma ci si può fare ben poco) permettono ai nostri protagonisti di passare del tempo insieme, anche se forse non nel modo previsto: l'imbarazzo di Yoi è sempre molto palpabile, però la ragazza ha raggiunto la piena consapevolezza dei propri sentimenti. Inoltre, dopo aver intravisto i rapporti tra Kohaku e i suoi genitori, Yoi sente il desiderio di rimanere vicina al suo senpai, di supportarlo e di dargli la possibilità di essere se stesso - cosa che Kohaku sembra apprezzare. In linea generale, Yoi mi fa molta tenerezza: non ha molta esperienza in campo sentimentale, però si vede che ci tiene in maniera genuina a Kohaku.
Insomma, una bella botta di serotonina...che va completamente a farsi benedire alla fine di questo volume. Il senpai non si fa vedere da due giorni e gira addirittura la voce che potrebbe lasciare la scuola. Resta da capire se la famiglia di lui sia coinvolta in tutto questo (probabilmente sì), anche se temo che ci sarà da aspettare un po' prima di avere qualche risposta.

Rimango della mia idea: questa non è la mia opera preferita di Mika Yamamori, però il tratto dei suoi disegni è sempre bellissimo, i due protagonisti non mi dispiacciono, e apprezzo inoltre la scelta di dare un pochino di spazio anche alle vicende dei personaggi secondari - adesso mi è partita la ship tra Nobara e Shun. Per ora non è andata bene, ma mi aspetto qualche altro sviluppo in futuro.

Yo les pido perdón pero no puedo ser objetiva con esta historia porque es la forma de romantizar mi vida que no tiene ni una pisca de romance en la vida real jaja.

Me gusta mucho la evolución de Yoi y como ha adquirido la confianza para hablar abiertamente de sus sentimientos y sus deseos sobre su relación con Ichimura. Él es muy guapo y aunque sigue teniendo esa personalidad juguetona con Yoi para molestarla también se le nota más maduro.

Se que el próximo tomo será uno bastante intenso y triste por lo que se avecina en la vida de Ichimura y gente lo necesito para ayer (llorando porque ni en japón esta publicado :'c)

me voy a quejar un poquito, primero que nada que tienen las autoras de shojo con esa vaina de que uno se pire al extranjero? hay alguna necesidad? cómo odio ese trop y no lo voy a entender nunca, debería de ser considerado ciberbullying publicar historias con ese trope.

segundo, perdió el amor, los romances para chicas que nunca son la opción 😭 es decir, no esperaba que la aceptara, pero que le dijeran q se conocieran o algo SI NO QUE DIRECTO AL "PERDÓN, NO ME GUSTAS" y o sea, yo sé que es realista y la chingada, PERO yo leo para evadir la realidad, no para que me la recuerden.

They're so freaking cute I LOVE THEM 😭​😭​

Their relationship is progressing and it's really cute and beautiful to witness. The tender and awkward moments too 😅 And the second possible couple is also interesting, in a completely different way. I care about them a lot...

As always, the drawing style is amazing. I still remember some pages from the previous tomes. Some moments when I voiced out loud how beautiful I find Yoi or Ichi. And in this one, there is a double-page that will stay engraved in my mind for sure (iykyk).

okay I'm remembering this - I read the translations online before and got SO UPSET by where the story is going lol. everything is going well, super cute, they have their first sleepover (surprisingly ((or unsurprisingly)) chaste and ends up being hilarious with her spontaneously getting a nose bleed), they start planning their future together, and then BOOM he potentially has to leave. I'm annoyed by that, seems like such a cheap way to add issues into the relationship.

i protagonisti fanno sempre più passi avanti con la loro relazione. Sia emotivamente che fisicamente, anche se a piccoli passi.
Tanti momenti di dolcezza, ma si avvicina la dolorosa separazione.
Ormai è nell'aria, ci scommetto!
È un classico cliché da romance.
Ne farei volentieri a meno, ma vedremo se mi sbaglio o meno. Comunque sia, ci avviciniamo alla fine della serie com'è giusto che sia.

La tournure de ce tome est vraiment agréable car grâce à elle on se tourne vers une perspective d’avenir concrète.

D’ailleurs l’édition collector est superbe !
