Wren is intelligent, prickly and so stubborn he's been suffering through his heats alone because he'd rather be in pain than ask for help. Now that his suppressants have stopped working, he's desperate enough to seek out a stranger at the Knot Club.

He's watching me come to him. He doesn't move toward me. Doesn't meet me halfway. He just waits, still, the way something waits at the end of a trap it didn't need to set because the bait was always going to be enough.

He alpha-shops around for a bit until he finds the perfect alpha with the perfect scent. Something about it feels familiar and safe, but he's so out of his mind he can't focus on why. The alpha gives Wren everything he could've ever wanted, the perfect caretaker for his heat. Until Wren comes out of his heat-addlepated daze and realizes that he knows that scent. His alpha is not a stranger at all.

The truth is that he wanted me more than he wanted to do the right thing.

I liked this book a lot! It was hilarious reading Wren's brain slowly come back online, going from happy and sated to suspicious to vengeful in just a few minutes. I understand there will be more in the series about this couple so I didn't mind the abrupt(ish) ending. It was less smutty than expected, but overall a solid read. Something about the writing style is bugging me because I feel like I've read something else from this author but under a different pen name.

PHEWW... the knotting scene!!! Probably the hottest one I've ever read 🙈 The spice overall was SCORCHING HOT, I can't even lie.

And I'm such a sucker for the best friend's brother trope. That shit makes me weak, so OFC I was immediately sold.

Though WHERE WAS THE KISS SCENE??? I spent the whole book waiting for one and there wasn't a single kiss…

Also, at times the writing just didn't quite click with me?? I can't really put my finger on why, though 🤔 I also noticed a few phrases being repeated multiple times.

The ending was admittedly a bit abrupt, but the author mentioned there'll be a full-length novel at some point, so I didn't really mind. It made sense in the context of this story.

it was way too short. tho, the author said she’s not done with them (i approve) and will write all the full-length sequels for all these knot club couples in a new series. no idea what that will look like but i hope she starts soon.

Idk how to rate this. I actually think the idea of the knot club is hot in a filthy way and I'm not opposed to the kind of dubcon that takes place here. I don't even mind best friend's brother/brother's best friend as a trope and I obviously love omegaverse and heat sex.

But the writing. Was. Exhausting. I don't know what it's called when the writing is like that - all short staccato sentences. But, whatever it is, it is hard to handle for a whole story (even if the story is only 59 pages long). If it were just a couple times, I think I could've ignored it, but this was like pretty much the whole thing and it made my brain tired.

I'm on the fence because from a purely smut standpoint, this was decent and I am fully behind the idea for the series. But I don't know how I'd feel sitting through a bunch of them. The story is also not complete at all - the author stated at the end that she plans to write a fully fleshed out version, but I can't tell if that would be a blessing or a curse.

I think I'll try one more because I did read this pretty late at night and maybe my brain was the problem and not the writing? We'll see how it goes.

This little novella was surprisingly good in terms of smutty and tender. Wren is an omega who’s going to a club to take care of his heat anonymously. Everyone is wearing masks, then he pairs up with an alpha. The alpha in question someone who he already knows. The heat was gloriously filthy 😉 but when all is said and done questions and accusations occur. We get some glimpses of them meeting before and are left there hanging. The ending wasn’t an ending at all, but the author promised more so I will be definitely wait for their extended story.

Absolutely enjoyed this one was either to me a 3.9 or a 4 but I went with a four it was short. It was entertaining. It was a good one. I definitely am enjoying mm omega verse romance through and through, and I look forward to reading more of this author this is my first time reading this author, so I’m definitely looking forward to reading more in the near future

I would love to read a full knot club series with full stories, maybe the characters developing a pack or just as is, I like it either way. Wren and Sully are acquainted through Wren’s older brother. They’ve known each other for 2 years. Wren is a Virgin. His suppressants have stopped working. So he goes to an anonymous club where omegas in heat can get knotted by an alpha.

Wren rejects a few alphas until he smells the one that smells like his. He approaches and is instantly comforted. The alpha knows exactly what to say or not say. Talks him through his first time and praises him for being perfect.

The next morning he wakes up and discovers it was Sully and Sully knew it was him the whole night. Sully gives him time and lets him know where he will be every morning for the next week if he realizes how real everything was between them, not just heat talk.

I have to say I was not a fan. I normally like this author, but this series of stories I just could not get into. I did not feel the chemistry and this all felt like a one night stand type of feeling, all lust no real love. This just left a bad taste of stories and characters i really wanted to like but felt off putting and no chemistry and only the lust took the center stang, but even romance or lovers it just fast hook and try to make a story out of it. Just did not work, very disappointed.

This was pretty different to a lot of the abo I’ve read and I really liked the world-building, what there was of it in a 15k read, and love that the omegas have agency and the alphas aren’t as, um.. predatory? as in a lot of the books.
