They say The Colony Carnivale appears without warning—rolling into forgotten towns under blood-red skies, offering laughter, lights, and salvation for the bored and broken. But beneath the painted tents hides a different sin, each act a different obsession. Lust. Power. Revenge. Fear. The Carnivale feeds on it all—and so do the souls trapped inside. The games are rigged, the prizes are cursed, and the performers aren’t quite human. So buy your ticket, brave the insanity, and pray the lights go out after you do. Because once you enter, the show owns you.
Welcome to The Colony Carnivale—where the fun never dies, it just screams louder.
Allie
My soul is trapped here for all of eternity – and so am I.
Agatha and the Colony Carnivale own me now. I never asked to be saved, but I guess people like me don’t get to die. No rest for the wicked and all that jazz.
Now I spend my days reading fortunes and my nights twisting fates. During my training here I have learned countless ways to kill. Playing god to those foolish enough to enter my tent. I don’t discriminate; I kill everyone with the same level of brutal savagery. But apparently my fellow Carnivale workers are off limits, and in an attempt to keep his employees safe, Darious gives me a little gift.
Someone I never thought I would see again.
And another I have never met.
......Or have I?
If I can’t learn to play nice, my new toys will be taken away from me. Can I learn to channel my bloodlust into something more productive? For all our sakes, I hope so. Because now not even death can stop me.
My name is Allie. I am the Colony Carnivale fortune teller. I am death incarnate.
Ooo! What a treat meeting these three again, I got a bit into the story before I realised I’d met them before in Lull Lane 🤣
Allie, is saved…I say that but in reality she didn’t want to be and was not a happy kitten about it. Agatha, explained what would happen to her once within the clutches of the Carnivale. However, Allie got bored quickly and her tricks upon the Carnivale caused Dario to take drastic action to keep her in line, though I’m not sure Allie would agree 😉
Raelynn brought the three back together, except Avery and Edith were no longer whom they were in ‘Don’t Look Back’ they’ve kind of evolved 😈 It’s a super fast read with FF spice.
This was such a good short read and i loved the link to the noll series with this book too it really brings out the bigger picture and i am all for it!
So I'm not really sure how to do this one, seeing as I feel like anything I really want to say would give basically the entire story away. We'll start with the beginning. This is Allie's story. It begins with her unfortunate untimely non death, which is rudely (for her) interrupted by Agatha, who's decided to keep her for the Carnivale at Darios request of course. This is clearly unfortunate for her as she had made peace with the events she found herself in. The title of this could have mischief or chaos because Allie breathes it through the majority of this story. It's actually quite hilarious. However, one will action changes everything and well... You'll have to read it to figure that out. 😉
"The thing about coordinated chaos is that at its core, it is still just chaos."
"Consider it a calling card of sorts. I wanted him to know it was me..."
Vaticinator is dark, immersive, and full of Carnivale obsession. The writing pulls you deep into the story and holds you there. The atmosphere is thick, the tension is electric, and everything feels dangerous in the best way. I was completely hooked. Another memorable addition to the series.
Fortune favours the ruthless, and she is death incarnate.
Raelynn Harper delivers one of the most powerful, unapologetically fierce additions to the entire series with Vaticinator, and I was absolutely gripped from the very first line! 🖤
Allie is unforgettable. Trapped forever, denied even the release of death, she’s turned fortune telling into something deadly and divine, reading futures by day, twisting fates and ending lives by night with brutal, unflinching equality. She’s sharp, dangerous, and utterly done with being controlled… until Darious hands her a gift that changes everything: someone she never thought she’d see again, and another who feels hauntingly familiar.
The tension here is electric, will she tear them apart or finally find something worth fighting for instead of fighting against everything? Can she channel that terrifying bloodlust into protection instead of destruction? The stakes couldn’t be higher, because now not even death can save anyone.
Dark, fierce, addictive, and so beautifully written, this is the kind of book that grabs hold and won’t let go.
Allie’s voice is pure fire, and her story will stay with you long after you turn the final page.
Step into her tent if you dare… but your fate is already in her hands. 🔮💀
📖 Vaticinator Colony Carnival — Book #27 ✍️ Raelynn Harper
💀 Jess’s Skeleton Rating:
💀💀💀💀 — Fate, manipulation and a little FFF spice... 🔮🌶️
⚠️ PLEASE READ ALL TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFORE READING! ⚠️ The Colony Carnival has NO limits, so you should definitely know by now to check those warnings before entering! 🎪💀
💭 My Thoughts
Meet Allied, the Carnival's fortune teller. 🔮
But she doesn't just predict fate...
SHE PLAYS WITH IT. 👀
Allied thinks she can mess with Dario, but we all know by now that Dario isn't exactly someone you want to play games with. 😂🎪
And unfortunately for Allied...
He knows her weakness.
And he isn't afraid to use it against her. 😈
There's also some FFF spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️ thrown into the mix, adding another dynamic to this already twisted Carnival world.
Vaticinator was a quick read, but totally worth it. I enjoyed getting another glimpse into the lives of the people who make the Colony Carnival what it is — completely unpredictable and absolutely unhinged. 😂💀
🎪 27 DOWN... 4 TO GO! 💀
We're officially getting WAY too close to the end now! 😭
🎪 THE CARNIVAL WON'T LET YOU GO UNTIL THEY SAY YOU CAN. 🎪
🎡𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗚𝗘𝗥 / 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗦🎡 Please make sure you take heed to the TW’s before reading all books in this series!
🎟️ BOOK 27 IN THE SERIES 🎟️
GAH!!! The way I GASPED!! The connection between here and the author’s other book “𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘉𝘢𝘤𝘬 - Nightmare on Lull Lane has me wigging out! (If you haven’t checked out this series a must!) I couldn’t gobble this one down fast enough
Allie definitely didn’t come to the Carnivale to behave! After being saved when she clearly wasn’t interested in being saved, she finds herself in a place where Dario isn’t about to let her do whatever she wants. And keeping Allie in line is easier said than done.
I LOVED getting to see Avery and Edith again and seeing how much they’ve changed since 𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘉𝘢𝘤𝘬. This was a quick, dark read with supernatural elements, tarot, and FF spice. I also loved the connection between the two stories and how it adds another piece to the story. Raelynn definitely brought the chaos with this one! 🖤🎪
Disclaimer: I am reading these books as a set of ARCS. Note they are dark and come with quite a bit of trigger warnings. This was Book 27 of The Colony Carnivale. Vaticinator by Raelynn Harper is about Allie who is death touched and saved by Agatha at The Carnivale when she really didn’t want to be. Sometime later in comes Avery and Edith who she “died” with or didn’t and things just go from there. This book was wonderful. The books in The Colony Carnivale just keep getting better and better.
I received an advanced review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
You can definitely tell this comes off the back of another story, and having not read that one was a little frustrating. I felt like I was missing some of the background and context that would've made parts of this hit better.
Other than that, I really enjoyed it. It's short, definitely on the tamer side for the Carnival, but the smut was top tier. 👌 I also really liked how it took us back to the first book and tied into where everything started.
Overall, a really good read. I just wish there had been a little more context for those of us going in without having read the previous story.
Book 27 of The Colony Carnivale. This is where we finally get to learn Allie’s story. This start with Allie being saved by Agatha, who is from the Carnivale. This brings Allie to the Colony. We learn more about Allie’s time at the Carnivale and how she is handling her time there. Two people from her past are brought to the Colony by Dario. This was a hard review to write and not give too much away. I greatly enjoyed this story!
This is the 27th novella in the Colony Carnivale. These are erotic horror novellas so please check the tropes and trigger warning if needed. Allie is a fortune teller at the carnivale but she also plays with fate. The spice in this one is FFF, which isn't my thing usually, but I still Raelynn did a really good job overall. I will be reviewing all novellas in the series and they can be found on my profile!
Book 27 in the Colony Carnivale... Okay, while not usually my cup of tea, the ending to this one was hot with a whole lot of spice. But let me back up... We meet Allie, who was rescued and turned into a fortune teller with the Carnivale. She is very mischievous and love to cause chaos. When she takes it too far, our wonderful Show Master gives her an ultimatum she can't walk away from. Will all her dreams come true? xoxo
Fortune telling, in any form, is what Allie does. This was another short read and I really enjoyed it. Dark, immediately immersive and full of Carnivale mayhem. Allie's story drew me in right from the start and kept me to the end. Allie's been through a lot, and I'd love more of her backstory. The Carnivale is her home and she likes to create chaos, but she may have pushed Dario too far this time.
Step right up! Enter the Colony Carnivale at your own risk! You've been warned.
So this story follows Allie the fortune teller. I really liked this one. It was my first FFF read and I was here for it. It was a very short read and spicy towards the end. I loved that Allie messed with Dario ( honestly it’s about time someone did lol) I would have liked to get more into what happened on the boat between the 3 FMC’s but other then that I liked the book. First HEA I think in the series.
Girl you had me worried for a second 😭 I thought for sure Allie was done first she gets resurrected then she messed with Dario that was the wrong move he knew what her weakness was and he used it to his advantage she knew she had to fall in line 😳 far as the spice with Edith, Avery and Allie was soooo good it so so good to have them back together 😈🥵
This book was hot and funny in the most delicious way. 🔥🤣
I honestly enjoyed the pacing, and the ending? I'm okay with it. It kinda makes me want more, but at the same time, it doesn't. Does that even make sense? 😂
Also, now we know why everything breaks. 🤣 I'm not explaining that one, though. If you wanna know, you should 100% read this book and find out for yourself!
Vaticinator was amazing. I love that we have this fmc who isn't scared to play games with the show master. Struggling to accept her new reality but also very it is what it is mind set. I relate to her so much because of that. Allie really does go through with her girls. But dang do we get a full circle.
Allie going through a ton of grief is saved by Agatha a psychic working the carnivale. Reluctantly Allie becomes her protégé, not wanting to have been so called saved. I love Marvin and his little need for human snacks literally. Short and almost sweet at a point. I absolutely would recommend this book.
I loved this! It's Allie's story & it was intense! She had a lot happen to her & wanted to end it all, but Agatha has other plans for her at Dario's request. Allie is not happy at all! She starts playing "pranks" to get him to let her go, but he has a better idea. When people from her past show up, things happen. This was just as dark as the rest & I loved it! Recommend this novella & author!
Anyone who gives Dario a run for his money is of course gonna be loved by me because he really needs it some times. The perfect quick read to add to this shared world. Go grab your ticket because you don’t wanna miss out!
This was such a fun, quick read! Allie is an absolute menace, and I wouldn’t have her any other way. I can’t say too much without giving anything away, but I absolutely loved this one! No time to waste—I’m already moving on to the next book in the series. Bring it on!
OMG!! I absolutely loved this story. We got to meet Allie the Carnivale fortune teller. She doesn’t just predict fate but she will play with it. I can’t believe Allie thought she could mess with Dario, he’s not ready the type of person you would want to be playing games with.
“Vaticinator” by Raelynn Harper is book #27 of The Colony Carnivale series! It’s another great addition to this series! It’s is a well-written, quick read with plenty of erotic horror to enjoy. If you’re looking for a short, dark read, this one is worth checking out!
Omg.... That ending..... Why do I want more?! I'm getting closer to the end of this world and I don't think I'm ready for it. This story added to the darkness and mystery
An absolute treat to meet these characters again!!! If you read the Lull Lane series, you will recognize them!!! This was a great quick read!!! Loved the continuation!!
