Meh. This book was enough of a page turner that I was interested in finishing it, but I figured out the culprit before the book even revealed it (and the book revealed it pretty early on in the story). I was hoping it would get better by the end but it mostly stayed stagnant throughout.
Small town librarian Alexis otherwise known as Alex goes missing on her way home from work.
Her husband is falling apart, her son needs to find her and her 3 friends are doing their best to help.
What happens next is something I haven’t ever experienced in a Thriller before.
You find out who the abductor is very early on.
Whilst Alexis friends, family and the community spend their days investigating and searching for her, what we get is a story that delves deeper into lives of her and her friends.
What I didn’t expect throughout this book was to have a sense of feeling sorry or and somewhat bad for the abductor.
Although they are absolutely crazy to say the least, I feel like I understood their WHY for doing it.
Also I will probably never look at a polaroid photo again with out thinking of this book.
The writing style is in Dual First Person POV.. BUT also has a handful of chapters set in 3rd person POV so we get a rounded picture of how the dissapearance of Alexis is affecting everyones lives.
I enjoyed this book because this is my first time reading something with this style of writing and plot. It was nice to see something different be brought to the table compared to the general ‘who dunnit’ type books.
If you’re a fan of fast paced and easy reading thrillers - then this is for you.
I enjoyed this book a lot. Initially I thought it would be like any other thriller with a big shock twist at the end, but you find out who done it early on. I like that there's different view points throughout the book so we see how the disappearance of Alex really does have an affect on everyone else in her life. It's very believable how her family fractures and starts to fall apart the more time goes on with no news. It's interesting to see the perspective of the abductor as well and just what's going through their head. You almost feel a bit sorry for them as it evolves.
I am happy with how the book ended I think it was very fitting for the story. It was predictable what the plan was towards the end though but it was very well written and even though I saw it coming I still couldn't put the book down I needed to carry on.
All in all I really enjoyed this book and I'm so greatful for the author sending me a copy. Highly recommend if you like a crime/thriller to give this a read, it flows well and is a quick easy read.

Despite the multiple POVs and the shifts between first and third person narration, this was a quick, easy read and I loved it.
The characters are described simply, yet effectively, making it easy to feel fully immersed in each of their stories. I found myself genuinely invested in all of them.
If you’re expecting a traditional mystery, this isn’t it, the villain is revealed very early on. But rather than taking away from the story, it adds a unique twist to the psychological thriller genre. At times, I even found myself sympathising with them, which made the reading experience all the more compelling.
This was so close to being a 5 star read for me. The only thing that held it back was an ending that felt a little rushed. Still, it’s a solid 4.5 stars and one I’d absolutely recommend.
I've near heard of this author before but she mentioned her book in a Facebook group. When I looked it up it sounded good and was free on Kindle Unlimited so I thought I'd give it a try. I thought this book was brilliant and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It had a great unique storyline that kept me hooked and guessing right up to the end. Would definitely recommend this book and I hope it gets more attention.
I was recommended this book from a friend and honestly it shocked me, the twists in this book!
I was hooked from the moment I started reading! This is about Alex who goes missing and her family and friends are worried sick thinking she is dead, but she has been abducted.
The question is, who has taken her?
I do not expect who took her and when you found out, even more twists kept coming!
I really enjoyed this book, easy to read and fast paced, it kept me wanting to turn the page! The chain of events arising from someone being lonely was staggering and I thought the ending was good, even though was slightly predictable, it didn't take away from the enjoyment of the book
Omg! What a fantastic book! I couldn’t put it down. I fell asleep reading it and picked it straight back up in the morning! So many twists and turns throughout. Highly recommend!

Going into this book I thought it would be like the other thrillers I’ve read (like a freida book) but I was so so wrong. This was so much more then just a thriller, there was obsession, secrets and plot twists galore. It was amazing.
Wow, this was a really good book. I was hooked from the start and found it really hard to put down. I devoured it in just a few days, and if u know me that’s a miracle because I’m a slow reader 😂 and after being in a kinda reading slump I flew through this in a couple days, I’m so glad I picked it up and read it. I finished this is 2 days and that’s not like me at all 😂 I usually take a long time to finish a book.
I did feel it was a little bit of a slowish start even tho it did start off right as the action started, but it quickly picked up speed and I was hooked.
The story flowed and was fast paced, I like Jades writing style and the fact that the book was in a dual PoV. So we got to see multiple characters views.
I don’t agree with what the person who did the awful act did but i did get how she was feeling with what she was saying about things that had happened (in both the past and present) as I’ve been treated in similar ways by people in my life and it’s not a nice feeling but would never ever do or even think to do what they did, because that was some crazy 💩
I’m trying so hard not to put spoilers in this review 😂
I had my suspicions on who was responsible for what happened but to actually find out who did it, I have to say I was a little shocked.
Also to find out as soon as we did!!!
I have to say I really thought I knew the characters and then BOOM plot twist and everything would change 😂
Let me just say this, you think you know everything and how the characters are but trust me you don’t.
I can’t lie when I was reading this book there was always this thought in the back of my mind; if I were to go missing would anyone look for me? And I know that’s a silly question but still it makes you think about who’s your true friends/ family, especially with what happens in this book.
Didn’t expect that ending, I thought it was gonna go wayyyyyyy differently.
I really enjoyed this and it’s my first ever read from Jade, I’ll definitely be looking out for more books by her in the future.

What a debut! I devoured this book in a matter of hours! I loved that this isn’t a Who-Dunnit? novel - you find out who has abducted Alexis and get more time with the character to understand who they are and why they could do this. It’s unsettling to emphasise with the villain of a thriller but it doesn’t mean the rest of the story is plain sailing: there are plenty of twists and developments to keep the plot fast paced and keep you guessing until the end. Highly recommend!
Missing by Jada McFay was a good read. It had a great twist that I didn’t see coming. Small town librarian Alexis Brady goes missing without trace. Everyone hunts and posts Missing posters for her. She is not far away in a basement. No ransom requests, but what the kidnapper wants is unthinkable. This book shows the chain reaction of an event to her friends and family. Secrets are revealed and emotions get the best of those involved.
New author who braved a Facebook group to plug her book and let's all remember our favourite authors started indie or small.publish houses. quick and easy read. I travel guess where it was going but failed on one major thing but got a couple of little things. Worth a read
