Mkay, Zaddy’s Girl was a good read. I thought it was so interesting that Hazelle allowed her ex-husband and his pregnant girlfriend to live in her home rent free - it COULDN’T be me! I’m not mature enough for that lol. But when Hazelle was finally at her wits end, her work husband introduced her to Vincent - a former “fixer” turned man of God. I thought the way the two met was very different and it worked for this story. I think the age gap made a ton of sense because Hazelle needed a grown man to show her she was worthy of all the things! Vincent really tried to keep Hazelle in the friend zone and I was appalled at that. Like, that took a lot of restraint and in an interesting way, I think Vincent was allowing Hazelle space to heal and find her own way again. I liked the tension, chemistry, and slow buildup of the story. Another good read from Monica!❤️
Adults involved in an age gap story doesn't bother me too much. Late 20s early 30s and 40s, both are adults. The story dealt mostly with the MFCs naive way of dealing with her body image. But.... and this is a big butt... The ex husband and his young pregnant girlfriend, all living with his ex, now that was pure and clear foolishness. Overall, the story was good.
Listen. When I say the first few pages grabbed me? I mean immediately. No warm-up. No easing in. We’re right in it. Hazel? Baby. She is relatable in a way that almost hurts. She’s been run over, taken advantage of, and treated like her kindness was weakness especially when it comes to that diabolical ex-husband situation. And when I say diabolical? I mean DIABOLICAL. The tension between her past and her present had me clutching my pearls early. Then Vincent enters the chat. Vincent. Turning 50. A man of God. Loves his children. Carries himself with authority and restraint. And the way he sees Hazel? The way he prays for strength to help her instead of harm her? Whew. I loved how this book portrayed a godly man as still being human. He has desires. He has wants. But he also has standards. That balance was written beautifully. It felt real not preachy, not fake. Just honest. And Hazel? Oh she is bold. Bold, bold, bold. Naive in some ways, but ruthless in her submission and her flirting. She does not hold her feelings back. She spills everything and Vincent eats it up while trying to stay composed. The mind games? Wild. The “I can’t have the daddy so maybe the son” moment? INSANE. The restraint? The tension? The private jet, spontaneous marriage, “my son will NOT have my girl” energy? Cinematic. I laughed. I screamed. I smiled. I clutched my pearls. The metaphors? Exquisite. The storyline? Addictive. The buildup? Worth it. This is an absolute 5-star read for me. If I could give it 6 or 7 stars, I would. It’s so good I’m buying a personal copy just to keep in my stash. Yeah… I’m running through the whole catalog next. Well done. 👏🏾
This was an age gap slow burn romance done right! I loved every single page of this book from beginning to end. Hazelle was such a kind soul who'd been dealt some blows by life but she didn't let it make her bitter. Vincent was recomended to Hazelle by her coworker/friend as a person who could help her solve a problem and it grew into a professional mentorship. I love that Vincent was God fearing but real. He didn't have a perfect past but he'd worked hard to make amends and move forward as a better person. Hazelle was clear in her attraction to Vincent and while he wanted so much more he kept getting in his own way because he felt that she needed some one who wasn't 14 years older than her. As much as Vincent tried to push Hazelle away his actions clearly showedc how much he cared for her. Thankfully he eventually got it together. This book may have been a slow burn but the spice didn't disappoint! I can't say enough how much I loved Vincent and Hazelle's story and look forward to exploring more of Monica's catalog!
I started reading this and was unsure if I could finish Hazelle endured A LOT…but I’m soooo glad I did. You can be the mishandled and mistreated by the wrong person for so long that you settle and take what you know you don’t deserve which was the case with Hazelle. BUT GOD….he sent her someone in the form of a friend/mentor Vincent, to show her her worth and push her into her greatness. Hazelle begin to elevate and it made her feel good and caused Vincent see her and himself in possibilities and ways he never imagined. As she dropped dead weight she began to feel lighter and stronger. They then decide to stop avoiding the obvious and tap into what can be despite their obvious differences.
I absolutely loved this book. Hazelle was a saint because it couldn't be me housing an ex and his baby mama for FREE. She really did need to put her foot down and 123 release them folks from her house. Enter Victor with his guidance and mentorship. That was a man right there. The way he affirmed Hazelle and helped her free herself from the people leeching off her was exactly what she needed.
Victor was a complicated man. He let the age gap between them stop what was a good thing quite a few times. I was actually yelling like he could hear me to stop playing with my girl. Even though there was a push and pull to their relationship, he made sure she was always good. This man was a provider, do you hear me. He gave sis the black card to go shopping. The way he talked to her on her birthday had me swooning.
This was an amazingly written book. It had everything I wanted in a book. I was sad for it to end, but it ended perfectly. I loved how the family was accepting and that there wasn't any backlash for Hazelle being younger than Victor. I absolutely loved this age gap romance.
Wow I enjoyed Zaddy it was not big of age gap to me she 37 he's about to be 50yrs old
I like how there romance blossom slowly
But me ain't no way my ex husband bm would have ever been staying with me plum dumb frfr ... He wanted a divorce he wasn't watching where he walking got hit not her and because of her caring heart she let him manipulate her into something she knew that didn't sound right... And her mom not to help give her daughter back bone ...
Okay, it took me awhile to finish this book from the time that I started it. The reason, Hazelle. She was portrayed as absolutely naive and a gluten for punishment, allowing her ex to make a complete fool of her as a 36-37 grown ass woman.
Moving on, I did love the fire chemistry between her and Vincent, her mentor. Those two were a slow-burn romance in the making. He was definitely good for her and a surprise, she was good for him. She was the reason he changed his stance on love and marriage, along with his grown son trying to get with her.
In conclusion, Hazelle grew on both me and Vincent. They were both due happiness.
I love a workplace romance. Reading about Hazelle and Deacon had me screaming IKYFL!
Seeing the relationship with Vincent blossom over time was nice to see. I enjoyed seeing Hazelle transform into a stronger version with of herself and speak her mind.
Didn't think of this too much as an age gap romance, more of a work place/friends to lovers kind of thing.
The pace of the story was good, however I hated it took so long for them to embrace their feelings and get together. It was a journey, I was looking forward to finding out what was said to get Deacon to leave. Overall this was a good read.

I fell in love with Vincent immediately. His grown man attitude was everything. I was in disbelief at first about Hazelle's marital situation. Like girl what?? Never... but after a while I began to understand and started cheering her on. This was such a wonderful age gap story. I will definitely read it again.
The age gap with this story wasn't too bad. It did show the inexperience in Hazelle. Vincent was a man's man. Although the lines were blurred, he still tried to keep them professional.
This is definitely a great story! Vincent definitely is Zaddy!
this was an unexpected guilty pleasure I was super excited for the release , kinda nervous about the read because I could relate to some of the fmc plight however the love that grows between Hazelle and Vincent is pure and sexy in a very adult way . kudos @monicacox. keep giving us Farmington, Ga ' s finest
This is the 2nd book by this Author that I DNF. I don’t think her writing style is for me. I wanted to enjoy this book but I just couldn’t. I was immediately second guess my reading after reading the first chapter. There was context and TJ introduction to the story left me with a “how did we end up here” facial expression. 2026 has not been good to me regarding my reading choices.
Fun, messy, and entertaining. The characters will absolutely test your patience, but watching their growth was worth it. I liked the subtle humor, second chances, and a strong thread of self worth.
So.. I first want to point out that I didnt read this entire book. So please take what I say with a grain of salt- The premise was wonderful! I love a good damsel in distress story, and thats what drew me to this book. BUTTTT thats where my love affair ended. The FMC reads as a 19 year old who has lost her way- not a 34 year old with a established career. I understand she was written to be sort of a pushover but my goodness! It was distressing me how her ex was playing in her face. Her character arc (from what I read) seemed to flip flop between being shy and withdrawn to being very flirtatious and spicy. The part about her clothing choices left me scratching my head because how are you a professional and wearing CitiTrends throw away clothing? The MMC was presented as if he was a mercenary and could help her get "rid" of her ex..and all he did was... talk to her? I mean, she could have gotten that boost of confidence from a therapist, but I guess since he was doing it for free 🥴🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️. The push and pull of their attraction also begin to work my nerves. maybe I'll go back and finish it. it may all come full circle, but by 58% ... nothing spoke to me to keep me interested.
I was a great age gap story. Vincent treat Hazelle like the Queen she is after her horrible experience with her ex husband.Vincent help her get her ex-husband with his free loading behind and his girlfriend who is pregnant out of her house .I don’t know how she did it was super crazy . Hazelle also show how a woman support to treat a man to Vincent. He put a ring on that I was like you better get your woman but it took him a minute to really express his feelings. it took his son going on the date with his woman or wife as he said it took take the leap to want to make her his forever. I would recommend you read this book for real. He had me saying Can you say Zaddy for really because I was fan myself everytime him and Hazelle had a scence together when they was working.

Vincent and Hazelle were so stinking cute. Hazelle is in an impossible (sister-wife) situation with her ex and his new woman. She’s allowing them to reside in her home - being nice and they are definitely taking it way too far. There definitely has to be a special line in heaven for her because I COULD NEVER! Her work husband tells her about his brother being a “fixer” and how he can handle her problem. Well what happened once they met and came to an understanding led to a very interesting relationship that indeed prosper. Vincent built Hazelle up in a way no one in her life ever had. He poured into her cup as often as she did his. It was a different journey, but the destination was worth it. Happy Reading Y’all!💋
I am thankful that I did not "DNF" this story that was gifted with Bible verses that allowed God to guide Vincent and Hazel together. It was a little unhinged when I first started reading because who would allow their exe husband and his baby momma to live with them. As I read I wanted to know more about this dynamic and what happened to Deacon after he moved out. Overall, this story of pouring into one another to receive an unexpected love that leads you to healing, self-love, and peace was a great introduction to the writing of Monica Cox.
This book dragged on, the FMC was naive in a way that was not attractive but quite disturbing for her to be as old as she was in the book. The MMC was manipulative through the whole book. It was a short book but to literally have the ending be a random marriage between them is crazy. Neither of them knew each other, there was no character growth, or plot for that matter. The FMC was desperate, naive, and just plain sad. It took me forever to push through this book, I didn't DNF it because it was so short.
Wow, this book was really good. It wasn't your typical Zaddy's book. It was really about building a real relationship that was good, pure, and healthy. I loved how in tune Vincent and Hazelle were with each other. I also loved how Vincent looked to his faith and belief in God to navigate his new normal.
I have mixed feelings about this book. I didn't hate it but it irritated me. Hazelle was too gullible for me because there is no way she was like that at her big age. Her mother was no help in being her support to get that narcissistic man out her house.
Vincent, played in her face as well in my opinion. Hazelle, Just wanted to be loved for her but got used and has yet to be the woman that she has the potential to be.
You never know what people are writing in their house. Because Monica what did that glass of orange juice do to you why you had to do that but anyways Vincent got on my nerves because why he had to drag my girl through the mud and back before he decided that he truly wanted her and that he wanted no one else to have her. I wanna hold him by the hairs on his chin and asked him why he had to take her through there.
This was amazing age gap love story it had all the elements of going through life situations and finding love when you lest expect they brought out the best in each other I love how his children loved her as well simply amazing loved it 🥰😍💕🖤🤎🫶🏽one of my favorite couple yessss
Ms Cox was going for straight shock factor on this one!!!! Hazelle was definitely disrespected in her very own household by her ex. Vincent plucked my nerves for a bit but he realized he might lose his blessing. Entertaining book, that back and forth banter was hilarious.
I enjoyed reading grown folks love story! Vincent and Hazel were meant to be together. Two adults were established in their careers, but missing being loved & vulnerable due to life circumstances! The trials they go through show when you wait on the higher power.to direct your path, all things are possible
This was such a sweet age gape romance. I loved the mentor, mentee concept and how much growth both Vincent and Hazelle experienced. I was side eyeing Hazelle in the beginning with Deacon but our girl got on the right path and opened herself up to new experiences and new love.
I had to DNF. The FMC was very annoying and such a push over. The banter with FMC and MMC is corny as h*ll. I don’t like the writing style. I’m very shocked to see so many high ratings. I only got through 28% and that was my force.
This book was so good and I don’t know how it took me so long to read it. Vincent being a Christian trying to live upright intrigued me and I loved their relationship from the beginning. Going on a date with Vander was crazy Hazelle and you know it! But this book was a great read nonetheless!
