Brothers Mack and Ryker Thompson know the pain of failure intimately having recently fallen from the heights of success. One a former football star, and the other a master at his artistic craft, they couldn’t be more different from each other. Mack hides behind anonymity in order to cover up his pain, while Ryker figures it doesn’t matter if the glass is half-full or half-empty as long as there’s a bartender refilling it all will be well. Broken and haunted by the mistakes of their past, neither expected to find a ray of sunshine in the clouds of their pity party.
Claudia Schmidt, is the only daughter of a real estate tycoon that has a plan for turning the small town of Stone River into a suburb of Austin, Texas. When she is sent in to replace the project manager, and convince the town of the necessity of the project, she finds herself falling in love with the town, and the Thompson brothers.
Although ménage relationships aren’t foreign to Mack and Ryker, neither one intends on living one, so how can they decide who gets the girl? And what if the girl wants all or nothing? Welcome back to Stone River…

Claudia is a no nonsense, take action grab you by the balls kind of girl. Even though she has the life of luxury she doesn't show it off. She travels to the town of Stone River to help seal the deal for her fathers real estate plans when she meets brothers Mack and Ryker. I fell instantly in love with both brothers. Mack is a great man with an amazing talent for making saddles, but he lack the business sense to keep it together he now settles for being a ranch hand. Then there's Ryker. He was a successful football player who was injured and then became unable to play anymore. He comes to stay with his brother Mack because he's recovering from his injuries and he is now broke. Ryker is always feeling sorry for himself and Mack is content with his life. Some of their friends are in ménage relationships and the brothers swear to never share a woman, then they meet Claudia. Both brothers want her and she wants both of them. I was so on edge hoping the brothers wouldn't fight over her and just share her. I couldn't put it down until I finished this. Such a page turner. I'm saddened to see the end of the sweet people of Stone River, however this was a great ending to the series. You will absolutely fall in love. A definite must read series!
This book was truly a wonderful ending to a spectacular series. I was hoping that Mack got a book from the first one he was introduced in and what was even better was including the delicious Ryker. The brothers were both just floating in life till they met the beautiful Claudia. Apart all 3 was searching for that perfect balance but together they achieved a absolute primal surrender. It was good to catch up with previous characters from the other books in the series to see how life was treating them. I'm going to miss this small town that I hope eventually come up with some vacancies.
This final story in the trilogy was just ok for me. I never really got the connection between these 3. I know that Ryker had lost a lot but he was so angry and whiney to me. I never really cared for any of them.
This is the third book in the series and they should be read in order. Once again there is one less brother and some more angst and emotional bits. The Thompson brothers have had one hell of a last year. Mack lost his leather working business and Ryker was injured and can’t play football anymore. Claudia Schmidt was sent to oversee the development of project by her father. She never expected for Stone River to change her life. Claudia meets Mack first and is intrigued by him so she agrees to a date with him. Then she meets his brother Ryker on the date and she is drawn to both men. She has intrigued when she meets Rachel and Zoey and learned of their ménage marriages. What would it be like to be with more than one man at a time? Could she have both brothers. Ryker doesn’t understand how the Keegan and Brooks brothers share a wife and is adamant that he would never want a relationship like that. Then he meets Claudia. Could the brothers try a ménage relationship to have a relationship with Claudia? What if she only wants both or no relationship at all? This book is a bit more angsty because of three of them are confused about their feelings and are unsure if a ménage relationship is for them. Ryker is in a perpetual pity party in the beginning of this book and kind of gets on my nerves. I love Mack, he is such a fantastic character. Congrats on another fantastic book Lori. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
I found the dynamic of the relationship in this book very interesting and loved how it was different yet from the first two books. Mack and Ryker have no desire to be in a ménage relationship. Neither wants to share their woman and both find the idea of having sex with their brother repulsive. So when Claudia comes to town and they both end up desiring her, they're faced with a huge problem: who gets her? Claudia is new to town and shocked at how open it seems to be to alternative relationships. She had never considered a ménage relationship before, but she is faced with a conundrum: she wants each brother as much as the other and can't choose one. So a ménage relationship makes sense and is something she's open to trying. Unfortunately, both of the brothers have made it clear that that's not how they work. As Mack saw/met her first, Ryker attempts to stand back and let them have a relationship. So when Mack and Ryker agree to sharing her (their misconstrued idea of a ménage relationship) it takes Claudia off guard. As she believes neither want a ménage relationship, she feels like she's cheated on Mack when Ryker seduces her. She decides that is she wants both equally and can't decide, then she will have neither of them. When approached by the brothers with their solution of sharing her, she (understandably and quite justly) refuses. Ultimately, it is all figured out and this becomes a HEA book with no cliffhanger. This book can be read as a stand alone if desired.
Claudia Schmidt came to Stone Ridge to make her dad proud and get the new development accepted. When things didn't turn out it turned out to be a better blessing. Claudia had fell in love with the town. Met two new friends and fell for two brothers Mack and Ryker.
Mack never though he would find love. Nor did he think it would be in a classy rich girl who had spunk and Sass. Ryker heard his brother talking about a hot woman that took his breathe away. He couldn't believe it till he fell under her spell like his brother.
Can all three of them form the bond of ménage and. be happy? Can Claudia learn that all her daddy wants is her happiness?
Mack is trying to reconnect with his brother Ryker. Ryker is attempting to crawl out of an alcoholic depression. Things become even more convoluted when Claudia becomes a focal point for both of them. In a small town that seems comfortable with unique relationships, can the brothers accept that they are both in love why the same woman and learn to share as so many of their friends have?
Primal Surrender is the next greatest book in the Surrender Series, by Lori King. I really can't say enough good things about this series . I have enjoyed how each book is more than a bunch of hot cowboys making their women swoon. They are filled with love and caring a characters that work together to bring out the better in each other.
Third in a series, this was a little more realistic than the previous 2 (4 husbands, 3 husbands) as this one there are only 2 husbands. A high powered woman meets brothers and it takes awhile to bring them together. Her parents seem to accept the 3 very quickly. They all live happily ever after.
I enjoyed reading this book! The characters in this book was Claudia, Mack, and Ryker and the chemistry between these three was hottt, but there was just some miscommunication between them! I enjoyed the story line and I think others will enjoy it too! I definitely recommend reading this book, especially if you enjoy reading about multiple lovers!
4,3,2 Stingy much? What are going to do when you want 2 men equally? Demand a menage. Good for you girl. M/F/M. BDSM. Hot sex scenes! Dirty talk.. yep, so good. This series continues to give me lovely ideas. Good job Lori King. Good job.
another great book from Lori King .BEST SERIES , HOT!!!!! Mack & Ryker Thompson brothers one use to be a football star but got hurt and the other works at the farm. they both meet Claudia Schmidit daughter of a real estate tycoon and they both want her and she wants them but can they share ?
Out of all three books in this series, this was my favorite! Claudia, Mack and Ryker's story hit home for me! When it talked about Judy Thompson their mother who had Alzheimer's! I just lost my mom to the disease! A must read. You will love it!
So far, I have read the first three books in the surrender series. I finish one and immediately start the other. If you like books where the characters are real and authentic, this series is for you.
Claudia and the Thompson brothers were not what I expected at all. Primal is not what I expected throughout the book it was a power struggle between brothers. Can't wait to see what is in store for the next book.
Good book, a little tamer than book 1 in the series. Mack and Ryk are two very different brothers, each with their own struggles. Mack saw Claudia first but Ryk fell head first in love right after he saw her. He felt guilty but couldn't deny his feelings for her.
I kind of feel like this was so similar to the last book. I also don’t mind a ménage relationship book here or there but so many in this tiny town?? Doesn’t seem realistic.
I enjoyed characters, I thought they were fun loving, they made me a chuckle a few times. This isn’t really my type of read but I found the author to hold my attention and she kept the book interesting. I was given this book a few months ago for an honest review, at the time I almost turned it down since it is a little out of my reading area. I am glad I didn’t because I really enjoyed this read.
I liked Claudia she is a strong female type who doesn’t take any nonsense but grabs the bull by the horn and takes off running. Even though she comes from money she is down to earth and not spoiled. She goes to Stone River to help seal a deal why there she meets two hunks who turn her head in more ways than one. This is a character that you love, what is there not to love.
Mack and Ryker are sweethearts , the book starts off with them at a wedding trying to understand how 3 men want the same women and are willing to share. This blows their mind, in their mind it is first come first served. If your brother or friend picks the girl you step back and let him have her. It isn’t long before they have to rethink their way of thinking. Claudia makes them rethink a lot of things.
I found the author gives a wonderful story of two men feeling weird then they make love to the same women at the same time. First times such as this would be a little off, not knowing how to handle it and finding their way. I loved that the author didn’t go straight into sex but let the character grow and learn. I love the way the author brought humor into the story it could have been so easy for the brother to fight over her and both end up losing. The author gives you a wonderful ending and truly a lovely story. This is a story that is hard to put down, I found the pace to be just the right fit for this story. If you are into this kind of genre and enjoy a slow tell of romance and love this is the book for you.
Ok, so I have fallen completely in love with this author and her stories and after ploughing my way through the first two books in this series, I just couldn’t wait to get stuck into this book, it is addictive. The characters in this book brought the biggest smile to my face, they were superb. I really liked Claudia, I liked the way she was self-confident and didn’t look or need anyone’s approval for how and what she did with her life. Mack and Ryker are as close as brothers can possibly be but when we are introduced to them they are internally debating the merits of relationships with multiple partners, they’re old school – one guy, one woman – result! But situations can change and expectations can evolve and when they meet Claudia they’re facing a serious rethink because neither of them are willing to give her up, they need to find a way to make their little ménage work… can they? I liked the guys, I liked the way they thought things threw, they understanding and willingness to find a solution, they knew that Claudia was worth them finding their flow and the steps they took towards their first time, the uncertainty, and anxiousness only made me love them even more. The story oozed charm and sensitivity, it held my attention right up until the very last minute and Oh that ending … to die for!
Primal Surrender is a story about two brothers who are very different but are together solely due to circumstances. They both meet Claudia and are smitten right away. Unlike the other two books in the surrender series, the two brothers in the beginning have no desire to share a woman. To me, this had a much different take on this series.
These two brothers were friends with the two families from previous books and had seem their families interact. This didn’t interest either of them in the slightest. However, when they both meet Claudia, they are both instantly attracted to her. What starts out as a competition for a woman ends up with the possibilities of both of them losing her. They didn’t take into account the sassy and feistiness of Claudia and her sense of family.
I like that this story was different than the other two being the two men weren’t on the same page on wanting a Ménage relationship. However, it took a while for Ryker to grow on me. Ryker was in serious need of getting over his pity party in the beginning. He was rude, mean and trying to steal his brother’s girl. How can you root for a guy like that? Slowly through the book you begin to see a softer side to him that made you start to feel for him and eventually root for all three of them to have a happy ending. I will just say I loved Mack!!!
This story has laughs, steamy sexy scenes and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story.
Mack wanted Claudia as soon as he met her. After asking her on a date he introduced his brother Ryker. Ryker is not into a menage relationship and talks down about the other 2 woman in town who are committed to multiple men they are married to. Mack pursues Claudia but she is confused as she has feelings for both men. After them both pursuing her she is even more confused. Can she have both the brothers or does she have to pick just one? When she ends up with Ryker after being with Mack she thinks she betrayed Mack and runs. The men go to her father to get her back. Do they have a chance? Or did they give that chance up when they were at first against the menage relationship? Can they win there woman back?
I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

Mack has been a staple of theseries since book 1 and now we get to see how he came to be on the ranch. It wasn't how he expected his life to be, but hes done the best he can with what hes got.
Ryker had it all and it was burtely taken away. First his career then his money. They are both stuck in ruck, but only Ryker is derermined to drink his way even further down.
Claudia wants to make her father proud and make this deal go through, what she wasn't expecting in this small town was two bigger then life brothers she is drawn to more than any other man in her life. But the problem is there's two of them and neither one of them share.
When feelings get involved and brothers both want the same thing will they find a way to share or will the first true happiness they have found in a long time be lost to them before they can figure it all out?
