Petra is a vampire of many talents. In this tale Petra gets assistance from The High Priestess of an enchanted tarot deck. She works with her ex to solve the murder of his brother and perhaps they may get a second chance at love. This is a brilliant, fast-paced tale that kept me flipping pages and rooting for Petra.

Petra is a vampire and lies for a living. That's partly because of a past she'd prefer to forget, and because she's an undercover operative. Unfortunately, lying has become second nature, tainting her personal life.
She's the latest recipient of a harbinger from the powers-that-be. This one is the High Priestess, whom Petra nicknames Diana (aka Wonder Woman, Diana Prince). And Petra can now see dead people.
This spooky ability catapults her into a double murder investigation. Her ex-lover, Gil, is drawn in. To make things more complicated, Petra would like to rekindle their relationship.
I enjoyed the blend of murder mystery and paranormal romance. Petra's survival is not a certainty; even vampires can be killed. But I won't spoil the exciting finale!

Petra tells little white lies, and some bigger ones. It caused the break up with the one she hoped to spend the future with. When they're forced to solve a mystery together, can she change, or can he, enough that they could try again? Of course, they'll need to stay alive long enough to make that decision as well. Another great addition to the G.R.I.T.S. collection. Great characters, great setting, and a fun and exciting story.

I loved Petra’s story! So fun to gain insight into each character as the series progresses! I love that the reader already knows or has heard of most of the characters so the author is able to let us know the characters in greater depth so we can truly come to know them and empathize with them. Those fully fleshed characters, paranormal features, mystery, touches of humor, and romance make this series unputdownable! These are my impressions after enjoying an advance copy of the book.

I love this kind of book!!! It's a mystery, a paranormal, it's funny, with really likable characters, and enough twists to really make it interesting. Love it!!! Petra is growing! Yea!
