I had a plan: finish college, escape my suffocating parents, and never look back. But everything changed the day I went for a jog and lost four hours of my life. Now the tiniest annoyances send me into rages, certain scents drive me wild, and I’m craving my steaks practically raw.

Then Jesse van der Meer shows up like he was sent by the universe to explain everything. He pulls back the curtain on a hidden world and teaches me how to live inside a body that doesn't feel like mine anymore. Somewhere between the secrets he shares and the heat that builds between us, I stop being afraid of what I'm becoming.

I should have paid more attention to why he came looking for me in the first place.

Just when I start to feel comfortable in my new skin, I discover that it’s not just Jesse’s world that has secrets. The man I’ve fallen for has been hiding a few of his own. As something dangerous closes in on us both, I'm left wondering which is more reckless; trusting him with my life, or trusting him with my heart.

Knowing what I know now, I'm not sure I have a choice either way.

I loved Caleb and Jesse's chemistry and bond, their interactions were loaded with lust and tension, and I like how they challenged each other.
This was a unique shifter romance, with Jesse helping Caleb understand his new life as a werewolf and helping him navigate all the changes, desires and dangers.
It has hurt/comfort, age gap, dom sub dynamics, and an intense mate bond.
I liked the balance of plot and spice, and how the ending introduces an intriguing mystery and mission for the next book.

I really enjoyed this book, it was so fun and made me cry at how emotional it was at some points (which I love in a book) I love a good shifter romance and this one was perfect and full of mystery! I loved the kinky relationship between Caleb and Jesse and I’m so excited for the next book which I think I will like even more based on that ending! Caleb’s backstory broke my heart, he really needed Jesse who loved and treasured him so much!

Here's "Wolfseeker" by Amy Pennza. It's the first novel in the Wolfseeker Trilogy.

["I had a plan: finish college, escape my suffocating parents, and never look back. But everything changed the day I went for a jog and lost four hours of my life. Now the tiniest annoyances send me into rages, certain scents drive me wild, and I’m craving my steaks practically raw.

These two were adorable as hell! Even with all of the angst (some between them, a lot in their world, and then a lot between them, and then a lot more in their world). They were devoted to each other right away, but neither of them really understood why, the strength of it, or accepted it.

It was a rollercoasted, a well crafted one, from one strong emotion to the next. Following them fall in love while figuring out their relationship, Caleb's secrets, and Jesse's secrets.

We were left on a cliffhanger (series--HEA for the couple) and I honestly can't wait for the next one (hope it's also MM).

Trigger Warnings: emotionally and psychologically abusive parents, manipulation, conversion camps, homophobia, violence, and more.

This book is the first in the Wolfseeker Trilogy and Pennza has provided the reader with a fast paced, heart racing (and often heart wrenching) story full of intrigue and just the right amount of humour.
Caleb and Jesse’s relationship is one of intense emotions. There is instant connection between their wolves and that connection continues to strengthen throughout the book. The intensity of the spice between these two characters is not for the faint hearted. It is explicit and definitely not vanilla. Yet Pennza’s writing elegantly conveys the complex emotions of desire and the depth of love between Caleb and Jesse. Their bond and Caleb’s trust in Jesse is definitely put to the test, but their love ultimately triumphs.
The story ends in a bit of a cliff-hanger but since it is a trilogy that is to be expected. And like most people who read Pennza’s work I await with great anticipation for the next book in the series.
I received a free advanced review copy from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily.

If you're a fan of MM romance and werewolves I think you will enjoy this book, because I certainly did. I liked that as a paranormal romance, it kept things simple as far as werewolf lore went. Everything was explained in a way that made sense and is pretty in line with how werewolves operate in other stories. I really dislike it when paranormal books introduce super complicated lore or don't explain things well at all. I appreciated that Caleb and Jesse were I loved their banter with one another-it was really sweet and showed how they work well as a couple. Not to mention, their bed chem is OFF THE CHARTS. Jesse has probably the filthiest mouth of any character I've ever read. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby in case your kindle spontaneously bursts into flames. Overall, this was an enjoyable MM werewolf romance and I can't wait to read the next one in the series!
Thank you to the author and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book.

4⭐

OMG, first thanks to NetGalley and Amy for the opportunity to read this ARC.
Second, BOY HOW FUN!! I loved this book, at the beginning it made me feel like I was watching the first season of Teen Wolf, but make it mature, and super spicy.

We have MM werewolf shifters, Dom/Sub age gap relationship, mate-bonds, magic system and the existence of other supernaturals, bratty sub with a smartmouth, and lots of dirty-talk.

The plot is a bit fast paced, and even though there's a resolution in the end, the meat of the story will continue in the second book. I can't wait for their next adventures.

I enjoyed this book from start to finish. The hints dropped of something more to come made me want to read more and more.

Caleb the smart mouth college boy who just wants to be wanted.

Jesse “the teacher” whose been around with a secret past.

But when they find each other that can’t stay in their blissful bubble forever.

The dirty talk and teasing between Caleb and Jesse was spicy. the spice was sexy! Yes please can I have some more 🥵

So… I didn’t read that this was a trilogy … but I cannot wait for the next book because WTF?!

Okay, I got excited about this book by seeing it on social media so I grabbed it and it did not disappoint. Caleb, sweet sweet Caleb, having to go through all that crappy home life on top of everything else and all he wants is to be loved and accepted. And Jesse, who is a little worried to open up, but is not afraid to Dom a certain young newly turned wolf! Yeah! Loved the Dom/sub ply, the age gap, the hurt/comfort. Their HEA was hard won and I am so excited for the next one!

Ready for book 2!

I loved the shared adoration between Caleb and Jesse.❤️ And of course the spice was 🔥 This was interesting and made me really excited for the next two books! I’m kind of annoyed at myself for reading this before they came out because I really want to find out what happens next! This book was still fun and interesting to read on its own though, so don’t let that hold you back ;)

Now to be honest, I wasn't sure about the whole M/M romance. It's never interested me before, but it was actually really interesting! Caleb and Jesse had amazing chemistry, the plot was easy to follow and kept me captivated!

This is my first book from Amy Pennza and I'm excited to read more books from her!.

Satisfying Start to Finish

Dee’s Grade: A+

This was a fun start to the series. I love that it’s going to be an established couple going on adventures together and trying to solve mysteries.

The book does end cliffhangery but it more of an overarching storyline. The story being told in book one felt satisfying and complete.

I was a little slow to get into this one and I’m not sure if that was the book itself or my cold, but once I was about 15-20% in I was hooked. I adored Caleb and Jesse’s story. It’s so rare we get actual wolf shifters mm romance without the omegaverse added in and I feel like Amy did such an amazing job. I’m super excited to see where their story goes with book 2!

It took around 30 pages to lay the foundation but then the story got going. I thought most of the time reading it I was going to give it 4 star but then the end hit me. I want to know what happens next and I have so many questions!

Can't wait till the next book comes out in the series.

3.5 stars rounded down. Well, I really wish this was more of a slow-burn over the course of the three books we're suppose to get in this series. I liked the story and the chemistry between the MCs, but having read the whole thing I feel like it would've worked way better as a long-ass slow-burn. Also, I wanted more world-building and lore. I'll probably grab the next part though

I'm sold!

This was my first MM read. I was reluctant to try it out but this was a really good book. The plot and spice was just right. I'm definitely looking forward to book 2 in the series.

Gostei muito e vou aguardar ansiosamente o próximo. Contudo, achei a parte final da história muito apressada, o que acabou quebrando um pouco do fluxo da história. Poderia haver menos sexo e mais história. Isso faria com que o final fosse menos corrido.
