This book grabbed me by the soul and refused to let go. The premise alone had me hooked, but the execution? Absolutely brilliant.
Tessa is just trying to survive life when two supernatural strangers appear in her bedroom asking for something simple… one minute of her life. That single moment sends her world spiraling into hidden realms, dangerous truths, and a pull between light and darkness that is impossible to ignore.
What really made this story shine for me were the characters. Camille, the angel, isn’t the perfect, untouchable being you expect. There’s something layered beneath his calm, light-filled presence that makes you question everything. And then there’s Val, the demon… shadowy, intense, and far more complicated than a creature of darkness should be. The tension between them and Tessa is electric. Every interaction felt charged with secrets, loyalty, and temptation.
The world-building was incredibly immersive. The idea that something as small as a single minute could unravel fate, eternity, and cosmic balance was such a fascinating concept. It kept me completely invested in the stakes and the mystery surrounding both guardians.
And the emotional push and pull between light and dark, duty and desire, was chef’s kiss perfection. You find yourself constantly questioning who to trust and who truly has Tessa’s best interests at heart.

April 3, 2026I had the chance to read this story as an ARC, and I have to say the concept really stood out to me. The idea of “a minute gifted” and how that unfolds beyond human time is such a creative and intriguing premise.
The story follows Tessa, who is pulled into a mission involving both a guardian angel and a guardian demon, which sets up a really unique dynamic right from the start. I especially enjoyed Tessa’s voice, her inner dialogue is sharp, sarcastic, and genuinely funny at times, which added a lot of personality to the story.
The pacing is very fast and dialogue-driven, so it moves quickly and keeps things feeling active throughout. There’s a lot happening as the story jumps between moments, which gives it an almost cinematic feel.
By the end, the story clearly sets up for more to come, and readers who enjoy supernatural elements, moral tension, and character-driven dynamics will likely be curious to see where things go next.
