A Taste of Twilight

Hired to collect enchanted wisps from the swamp west of Petalfall, Krrt stumbles upon a cursed woman and the creature she kills every twilight, only to have it resurrect when the sun sets again. He knows he can help her... if she'll let him.

Willow doesn't need an injured orc getting in the way of her search. When the swamp seems determined to put him back in her path, she begrudgingly lets him help her dismantle the witch's cottage, hoping for the one thing that will release her. She's given him what he needs in order to leave, but he seems determined to stay. She can't keep denying that she wants him to.

Dalia Davies fell into monster romance--almost by accident--and loves it here. She drinks her weight in tea every day and has been told on numerous occasions that she “knows too much”.
She pairs old gods, monsters, and aliens with human women who get exactly what they want and maybe a little more than they came for.
Brought up on fairytales read while hiding in the back stacks of her small-town library and sneaking in creature features at friends' homes, she always wanted a way to meld two fantasies into one. When not writing, she plays the banjo poorly, dreams of traveling the world, and avoids large crowds and loud noises.
Living in the southwestern US, she lets the outside heat permeate her stories and hopes they leave you panting.

Willow was trapped in a hellscape swamp, trying to find a way to break her curse. She started as a soft naive thing, but was hardened and cynical, with very little faith in men. Krrt was a determined orc who knew his worth, and was also more than willing to help her escape, even when she told him to leave. Their romance was fast and intense because of how much they went through together, and they found the HEA.

God this book was such a heartwarming short read that I finished it in one sitting. There are three drawings. The first one is of Krrt who is our MMC and also an orc, the second one is of Willow who is our FMC and a human, the third one is of first encounter. Now what I find slightly inaccurate about the third one is that Krrt is supposed to be naked(he's taking a bath) yet there seems to be some sort of clothing on him. Also how come the night after she escaped to town she wasn't dragged back by the curse? Other than that I absolutely adore this. The women always had each other's backs(going as far as one of them who was less than half of Krrt's height standing up to him to make sure Willow had followed him out of her free will). Krrt was such a sweetheart too(the spice while not very descriptive was soo good). There's very obvious love between the two characters and I'm very thankful of that

If Dalia writes it, I'll read it. However, these two are just amazing! I love swamp vibes and soft, stoic types, i'm a sucker for a Meg like character. 'I am a damsel. I am in distress. I can handle this. Have a nice day!!'

Awnnnn, eu gostei tanto desse! Ele é um fofo e ela maravilhosa (apesar de bem ingênua no prólogo). Além disso, foi uma leitura curtinha e que me prendeu de madrugada, justamente o que eu estava precisando depois de Reunions me cansar por dias a fio. Li numa "sentada".
