This is a life-changing book from Terry Wardle. So thankful for his wisdom in walking through the "dark night of the soul." I think this book covers a lot of areas of healing, spiritual formation, and walking through dark seasons of life. Draw Close to the Fire is well-crafted, rich in its content, and very much heartfelt. The one mark-down I have on it is that chapters four through ten kind of seem a little scattered. There's not a ton of structure and consistency to them. I think this book would be that much better if there would be more of an understandable timeline to it, other than just the introduction and conclusion. But other then that, this book has been very insightful. A fantastic book from Wardle.

Interesting book and really highlights the need for worship and vulnerability. I understand his own journey and he’s humble about it, but sometimes (perhaps unintentionally) he comes across in the book as the ‘expert’ who knows how to fix people by redirecting their focus on God…

I understand the purpose of the book is just that, but personally I found it sometimes jarring - he highlights clearly and unequivocally that it’s all through grace, yet the feeling persist of an ‘arrived healer telling others how to be healed’ …

Not really my cup of tea. A congregant was talking to me about it, so I gave it a quick read.

This book was the basis of a healing group I was part of through my church. It's not a light read, but was definitely worth it.
