One woman’s truth. A spellbinding dual-timeline romance about resilience, vulnerability, and the power of letting go—from the bestselling author of the Waiting For June series, Evelyn Lindell.

Kentucky, 1977. Elvis, bell bottoms, and a pair of hazel eyes. Ruberta never expected to meet someone in aisle nine of the local supermarket. Still grieving the loss of her husband and focused on raising their infant daughter, she isn’t ready to fall in love again. But Samuel—persistent, charming, and impossible to ignore—finds his way past the wrong number she gave him and into her heart. Their wedding was marked by chiffon and tweed. However, what truly defined their love was an unshakable devotion. But life threw them a secret so heavy, they vowed to carry it to their graves.

Now. Moonshine mushrooms, sweet tea, and an unexpected invitation. Ruberta, the wise and fiery matriarch, faces aging with the help of her best friends, Betty and Rose. But time has a way of loosening lips and revealing truths that were never spoken. As the past resurfaces, Ruberta confronts the love, loss, and secrets that shaped her life.

Fall in love with Ruberta as she shows how gumption doesn’t age, motherhood never ends, and soulmates come in many forms.

Evelyn Lindell returns with a captivating story—a blend of Steel Magnolias, The Notebook, and Forrest Gump. This unforgettable novel weaves real history into fiction so seamlessly that you’ll want to read it twice to catch every detail. A story of friendship, love, and second chances—where the most powerful part of the journey comes at the very end.

It’s not just a love story—it’s an awakening.

Wow! This book was so so good. It was entertaining, funny, and inspiring. I didn’t want to put it down. I loved all the life experiences that were shown in this book. It made me think about my Grandma Lou. I found myself smiling, crying, and laughing all the way through.

With the two timelines thi one took me a little longer to get into, but goodness once I did I couldn't put it down. Roberta reminded me of my own feisty and independent grandma. Great job wrapping up the series.
