Although caring for her traumatized best friend and her young daughter, Gwen is alone without a wolf spirit, in a wolf pack which has shunned her since her father's death.

After betrayal and tragedy, she is handed an opportunity to escape the pack, and start a new, simpler life... as a human. So, she takes it, along with her two charges.

Felix is a ray of fun, very popular, yet he feels like a failure. Unlike his smart twin, he will never be academic, so he believes he's a disappointment to his successful family. Taking a much needed break with his brother and their best friend, he travels the country. Where he finds his mysterious mate...

Gwen is still on the run, struggling with grief and her background, while Felix needs to realize he is exactly the person she needs.

How can they overcome their own issues to find the happiness they deserve?

I will never get tired of this series.

Ever since I discovered the Silverlake Wolves, it has become my number one shifter series, and I regularly find myself rereading the books. A Wolfless Mate for the Lycan Prince absolutely lives up to everything I love about this world.

I completely lost track of time while reading. When I reached the end, I honestly felt disappointed that it was already over — I could have easily kept reading about Felix and Gwen for hundreds more pages.

One of the things I love most about this series is how the characters grow across the books. Felix has been part of the story since the very beginning, so finally getting his book felt incredibly rewarding. Even though we’ve known him for a long time, this story truly lets us discover who he is beneath the surface — his insecurities, his hopes, and the pressure that comes with being the Lycan Prince.

Gwen was the perfect match for him. Both of them struggle with feelings of self-worth, which makes their relationship feel incredibly genuine and easy to connect with. Watching them slowly open up, support each other, and grow both individually and together was really satisfying.

What I especially appreciated is how their relationship develops early on and how they face challenges as a team rather than being separated by unnecessary misunderstandings. Their bond feels strong, emotional, and deeply comforting.

Of course, this book isn’t just about the romance. As always with Isa Rinner, there’s an engaging plot running alongside the relationship, bringing mystery, tension, and a bit of danger. The balance between the romance, the action, and the emotional moments is exactly right.

Another thing I love about this series is getting to see characters from previous books. It always feels like coming back to a big family, and it’s so satisfying to see where everyone is now.

This book made me laugh, it made me emotional, and it completely pulled me into Felix and Gwen’s journey. That’s really Isa Rinner’s strength — even in a fantasy world full of shifters, the characters feel incredibly human. Their doubts, fears, and growth are all things readers can easily relate to.

Once again, Isa Rinner delivered a beautiful story full of love, healing, family, and heart.

And honestly… I’m already looking forward to the next visit to Silverlake.

Don’t get me wrong — it was good. It was sweet. It was healing. It was full of growth and relationship depth. But where was the chaos?? The devastation?? The emotional warfare that usually has me gasping at 2am???

This one felt… tame. Slower. Much more focused on the characters growing together rather than being thrown into intense, high-stakes action. And while I appreciate that — especially the maturity in the relationship — I was craving more tension. More edge. More moments that punch me in the chest.

That being said, I loved being back in Sliveake. The family dynamics? Top tier. The interactions? Comfort food. There’s just something about being back with that chaotic, fiercely loyal family that feels like coming home.

And Felix and Gwen?? Ugh. I adore them.

Felix accepting Gwen so quickly, so fully, no hesitation?? Yes please. The way they complement each other — how they balance each other’s insecurities — was beautiful to read. That whole “I’m not enough” mental spiral hits HARD, and seeing them actively reassure and ground each other was honestly one of the strongest parts of the book. Having your Mate look at you like you’re everything when your brain is trying to convince you you’re nothing? That’s powerful.

Their emotional safety with each other? Stunning.
Their mutual healing? Gorgeous.
Their softness? Unexpected but appreciated.

But I needed more intensity. More emotional wreckage. More action. More moments that make my heart race. The only time I truly felt that deep, gut-punch emotion was Chapter 6 with Tulip. And when I say I sobbed?? I SOBBED. Absolute tears. That chapter wrecked me in the best way. But after that, I kept waiting to feel that level again… and it never quite hit.

Which is rare for an Isa book. Usually I’m a puddle multiple times.

Overall: beautiful character growth, strong relationship development, comforting return to a beloved world — but I wanted more fire. More angst. More devastation.

I really enjoyed Gwen and Felix’s story. Both characters carry deep insecurities, which made their journey feel especially real and heartfelt. Gwen has spent most of her life believing she’s less than others because she doesn’t have a wolf spirit, while Felix struggles with feeling like the “disappointment” of his successful family because he isn’t academic like his twin. Watching them slowly realize that the very things they see as flaws are actually strengths was one of the most rewarding parts of the book.

Their dynamic is wonderful. Felix’s warmth and optimism balance Gwen’s guarded nature, and together they help each other grow in ways neither expected. I loved how they leaned into each other’s differences rather than trying to change who they were.

Another thing I really appreciated was how many of the story’s open questions are answered by the end. The plot unfolds in a satisfying way, tying together the mysteries surrounding Gwen’s past and her place in the pack while also giving both characters the emotional closure they needed.

Overall, this was a touching and engaging read about finding strength in yourself and discovering that the qualities you once thought were weaknesses may actually be what makes you extraordinary.

A Wolfless Mate is the 9th book in the series and is a standalone interconnected book where most of the characters have been introduced previously. In this book several of the main characters were introduced as children in book 6, A Second Chance for A Beta. Twin brothers Felix and Dario meet Charlie and the back story can originally be found there. So while this book can absolutely be read and understood without having read any previous stories, people who wish for a deeper understanding of these particular characters can find the information they seek there.

This book has a solid relationship between Felix and Gwen from the moment they meet. There are no misunderstandings, no drama between them, no back and forth and will they/won't they. Felix is desperate for his mate to accept him and Gwen can't believe a Lycan prince would want a half human hybrid like herself. They are kind to each other, gentle, and they build their relationship with trust and consideration for what the other person needs. All of the conflict in the story is them vs things outside of them. I love her stories like this, they leave me with such good feelings.

SUCH A BEAUTIFUL COUPLE

Author's Note: This is book 9 of a series. While it can be read as a standalone and follows a new couple, the characters were already introduced in the previous books.

"If I have learned one thing, it's that if it looks like a wolf, moves like a wolf, and is chasing me, then take it the f#ck seriously." - Felix.

This book had me feeling happy, the beautiful bond between Felix and Gwen was deep and emotional. There were no interfering outsiders, not miscommunication or misunderstandings, there was just a knowledge that the goddess paired two young, beautiful souls that complimented perfectly. As with all books there is an underlying villain and a need to solve the pain and heartache of others and deal with the issues as a family and as a pack. Isa Rinner again delves deep into the Silverlake universe and the descriptive, detailed story allows you to immerse yourself in the story. The banter and joviality between the characters helps balance the occasional dark moments. A beautiful story for a beautiful couple, which in today's world, is just what is needed.

Isa Rinner is one of my favorite authors and this book does not disappoint. I will say this story feels lighter than some of her others. Both of our leads are struggling with self worth and are pulled into dangerous mysteries. But with Felix’s (MMC) family and Gwen’s (MFC) found family backing them up things roll pretty smoothly. In like many of her stories there is a lot of healing and a lot of love. One of my favorite things is how the leads find each other early on and work together as the story progresses. We also get peeks and updates on many characters we have met before in the Silverlake world. OH! And for animal fans out there this book will be a huge hit! Isa Rinner had me laughing and cheering with and for our leads and their supporting cast.
** If you have not read the series I would back up and start with book 1. Rinner has been building this world for a while and there are multiple characters in this book from the previous 8 books.**

Another superb story

I have been waiting for Felix's story for a while and it did not disappoint. When you are invested in the characters of this series you want the best for them. Gwen is his perfect mate with an unusual gift that has me smiling and giggling. Surprised concerning Gwen's bloodline which was unexpected in a great way. Marius and Celines's struggle was heartbreaking but I hope in the future it is solved. I am excited about what the author has planned for the future. It you haven't started the Silverlake series you are missing out!

I love this series! Isa Rinner writes amazing PNRs, each book is so unique to each MC. The character and plot development are great. This is Felix's book, the second youngest in the royal lycan family. He finds his mate while on a road trip, she is on the run with family. She has this mysterious power that draws animals to her. My favorite part is guessing what animal will come next. I loved that we finally got some answers about the demon pets. This series is a must-read. If you haven't, what are you waiting for!

I really enjoyed this book! The characters were mature and likeable, and showed real growth throughout the book. Alongside the romance, which was very sweet, the external plot with the Gwendolyn's heritage and Marina's tragedy really kept me engaged.

This series is great to read and enjoy. The characters are well developed and enjoyable. The animals who some are demons in disguise are hilarious and are unbelievable. The crisis is that the heroes and heroines deal with are very relatable and well developed.
